Abstract: An equalizer provided in a digital transmitter compensates for attenuation in a signal channel to a digital receiver. The equalizer generates signal levels as a logical function of bit history to emphasize transition signal levels relative to repeated signal levels. The preferred equalizer includes an FIR transition filter using a look-up table. Parallel circuits including FIR filters and digital-to-analog converters provide a high speed equalizer with lower speed circuitry. The equalizer is particularly suited to in-cabinet and local area network transmissions where feedback circuitry facilitates adaptive training of the equalizer.
Abstract: A stretchable photovoltaic apparatus according to the present invention includes: a stretchable substrate including islands protruded from a base such that the islands are separated by a trench, and a notch formed in an edge of each of the islands; a photovoltaic cell mounted on the stretchable substrate; and an interconnector of which at least a portion is positioned inside the notch, the interconnector electrically connecting the neighboring photovoltaic cells in one pair. According to the present invention, a semiconductor device may be configured in the form of a stretchable array. Therefore, the present invention is expected to be applied to various industrial fields such as a solar cell field, a display field, a semiconductor device field, a medical field, a clothing field, a measurement field, and a filming field.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method of producing low oxygen-content molybdenum powders by reducing molybdenum trioxide, which includes charging a first reducing agent and the molybdenum trioxide, which are in the direct contact with each other on a micro-sieve on an upper portion of a bracket in a body, charging a second reducing agent in the bracket under the micro-sieve, coupling the body with a cover to close the body, and performing a reduction reaction by raising an internal temperature of the body by performing the first reduction reaction due to direct contact between the first reducing agent and the molybdenum trioxide, and performing the second reduction reaction due to evaporation of the second reducing agent. The first and second reduction reactions are performed at a temperature in a range of 550° C. to 650° C., and a temperature in a range of 1000° C. to 1200° C., respectively.

Abstract: The present invention provides a fast prediction mode determination method of a video encoder that may remove an unnecessary operation of an encoder by selectively terminating early or omitting a splitting process and a pruning process based on a probability distribution of rate-distortion values, and thereby enables the encoder to quickly determine a prediction mode. The present invention may include a method that may adaptively change a termination and omission determination criterion of the splitting process and the pruning process based on a characteristic of an input image. When using the method provided by the present invention, reliability regarding the termination and omission determination of the splitting process and the pruning process may be set and thus, it is possible to adjust the tradeoff between a decrease in an operation amount and a quality degradation of the encoder.

Abstract: Examples are disclosed for forwarding cells of partitioned data through a three-stage memory-memory-memory (MMM) input-queued Clos-network (IQC) packet switch. In some examples, each module of the three-stage MMM IQC packet switch includes a virtual queue and a manager that are configured in cooperation with one another to forward a cell from among cells of partitioned data through at least a portion of the switch. The cells of partitioned data may have been partitioned and stored at an input port for the switch and have a destination of an output port for the switch.
Abstract: A through silicon via (TSV) repair circuit of a semiconductor apparatus is provided. The TSV repair circuit includes a first chip, at least one second chip, at least two TSVs, at least two data path circuits, and an output logic circuit. Each data path circuit includes an input driving circuit, a short-circuit detection circuit, a bias circuit, and a leakage current cancellation circuit. The input driving circuit transforms an input signal into a pending signal and transmits the pending signal to a first terminal of the corresponding TSV. The short-circuit detection circuit detects a short circuit between the corresponding TSV and a silicon substrate according to the input signal and the first terminal of the TSV and generates a short-circuit detection output signal. The leakage current cancellation circuit prevents a leakage current produced by a first level voltage from entering the silicon substrate according to the short-circuit detection output signal.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and apparatus in which an Automatic Identification System (AIS) accesses a radio channel. The present invention includes selecting a slot on which a packet is to be transmitted on at least one radio channel, temporarily sending a first carrier, notifying other AISs that the selected slot has been selected by the AIS, on the selected slot in transmission mode, and after temporarily sending the first carrier, detecting a second carrier transmitted by another device on the selected slot in reception mode. In accordance with the present invention, the AIS temporarily sends a first carrier, notifying other AISs that a selected slot has been selected by the AIS, on the selected slot prior to the detection of a second carrier, and another AIS accessing the same slot detects the first carrier temporarily transmitted. Accordingly, a collision between channels can be avoided.

Abstract: An active voltage drop control-type pulse power generator includes power stages, a power inverter, a power loop, a control inverter, a control loop, and a compensation unit. The power stages include power cells connected in series. Each power cell includes a switch and a capacitor connected in series, a driver for driving the switch, a bypass diode connected to both ends of the switch, and a rectifying diode connected to both ends of the capacitor. The power inverter charges the capacitor via the power loop and the rectifying diode inside each power cell. The control inverter provides a control signal for the switch via the control loop and the driver inside each power cell. The compensation unit is connected to one of the power cells and generates a compensation voltage for compensating for a voltage drop at a load according to a voltage detected in real-time from the power cell.
