The repair layer is disposed substantially on the barrier layer, wherein the barrier layer is configured to have a tunneling effect when a bias voltage exists between the sensing block and the registration layer.

Abstract: Provided are a gas barrier film that is simply and economically manufactured, and has high hardness and strength, excellent gas blocking properties, controllable refraction index and transparency, and a compositionally gradient structure, and a method of producing the same. The gas barrier film includes a base material; and an organic/inorganic hybrid gas barrier layer that is formed on the base material and has a composition-gradient structure. The organic/inorganic hybrid gas barrier layer has a network structure having —O—Si—O— linkages. The network structure contains an organic functional group having a carbon atom directly linked to a silicon atom of the —O—Si—O— linkages, and other element that exists in an oxide form in the interstitial location of the network structure or that is linked to an oxygen atom of the —O—Si—O— linkages, wherein the other element comprises at least one selected from alkali metal, alkaline earth metal, transition metal, post transition metal, metalloid, boron, and phosphorous.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for treating a surface of a PVC product. A PVC product including PVC and plasticizer is provided. A surface of the PVC product is treated by an aqueous solution of a crosslinking agent and a first phase transfer catalyst to form a first surface treated PVC product. The surface of the first surface treated PVC product is treated by an aqueous solution of an aqueous free radical initiator and a second phase transfer catalyst to form a second surface treated PVC product. As such, the release of the plasticizer from the PVC product to an environment is inhibited.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are an apparatus and method for cultivating microalgae using effluent from sludge treatment. The apparatus includes an advanced sewage treatment apparatus, a sludge treatment apparatus and a microalgae cultivation apparatus, the sludge treatment apparatus including: a first aerobic reactor which is operated under aerobic conditions and serves to ferment sludge; a second aerobic reactor which is operated in a state in which air is injected in an amount larger than that in the first aerobic reactor, and serves to increase the fermentation activity of microorganisms in the sludge and degrade the sludge; a membrane bio-reactor (MBR) which serves to receive effluent from the second aerobic reactor and biologically remove high-concentration organic matter from the effluent by the action of aerobic microorganisms while removing total suspended solids using a membrane, wherein the effluent discharged from the MBR reactor is supplied to the microalgae cultivation apparatus.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for recovering elemental silicon from silicon sludge by electrolysis in a non-aqueous electrolyte. The recovery method of silicon according to the present invention can achieve direct reduction of silicon by electrolysis at a low temperature (below 200° C.), control the structure of silicon by a simple process and a change in electrolysis conditions, and perform a continuous process by adding a silicon salt.

Abstract: Adhesive articles containing microtopography, such as microprotrusions, and a coating of adhesive glue, such an adhesive having known toxicity and/or tissue reactive functional groups are described herein. The articles described herein contain a substrate, a plurality of microfeatures, and an adhesive, such as an adhesive glue. The articles described herein exhibit a 90° pull off adhesion of at least about 1.5 N/cm2. The articles described herein can contain less adhesive than when the adhesive is used alone without microtopography and yet exhibit equivalent adhesive strength with little or no toxicity or other adverse side effects (e.g., exothermic reaction).

Abstract: Provided is a composition for preventing or treating erectile dysfunction including angiopoietin-4 protein as an active ingredient. Angiopoietin-4 protein increases an endothelial cell-specific protein level to induce regeneration of penile vascular endothelial cells, thereby increasing intracavernous pressure. Thus, angiopoietin-4 protein may be efficiently applied to prevention or treatment of erectile dysfunction.

Abstract: An online content publishing and consumption environment can be modeled such that communities of content consumers (users), such as educational institutes and libraries, are categorized as Content Brokers; content providers, such as book, music, and multimedia publishers, and news sources, are categorized as Content Providers; and a Content Bridge, a standalone component providing the functionalities of the presently claimed invention in the online content publishing and consumption environment. The Content Bridge allows a simpler and loosely-coupled integration with lowered integration cost and effort, as the Content Broker is required to integrate once only with the Content Bridge instead of having to integrate individually with every Content Provider.

Abstract: An apparatus for generating pulsatile flows includes a liquid vessel capable of containing a liquid, a plurality of revolving mechanisms associated with each other, and a microchannel supplied with a liquid from the liquid vessel. As the plurality of revolving mechanisms rotate, a periodically changing pressure difference occurs between the liquid vessel and the microchannel, thereby implementing a pulsatile flow having a wave functional form in the microchannel. By applying the hydraulic head difference and controlling revolution of the revolving mechanisms based on Fourier cosine series, a minute and precise pulsatile flow of a wave functional form may be implemented by means of simple configuration and fabrication, which may not easily obtained by a conventional pump.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for concentrating and recovering ethylene from the off-gas from an apparatus which produces gasoline, propylene and the like by fluidized catalytic cracking (FCC) of heavy oils such as atmospheric residue, generated in a crude oil refining process, is provided. The method and apparatus can reduce the amount of ethylene rinse in the subsequent ethylene displacement desorption process by increasing the ethylene purity of a raw material gas and reducing the concentration of weakly adsorbing components in the raw material gas and can reduce the loss of a desorbent during a distillation process for separating the desorbent from the weakly adsorbing components. Thus, ethylene can be recovered from the off-gas from fluidized catalytic cracking of heavy oils at high concentration and low cost.

Obtain a regressed THC according to the second measured THC and a predetermined relationship of THC. Obtain a result of THC according to the first measured THC, the regressed THC, and a predetermined range of THC. The predetermined range of THC corresponds to the main component group. The device for analyzing the liquefied petroleum gas comprises an inlet, a multiposition valve, a first column, a second column, an analyzing apparatus, and a computing unit.

Provide an organosiloxane polymer polymerized from a plurality of organosiloxanes including a terminal functional group. Provide a mesoporous silica precursor including a surface functional group. The organosiloxane polymer and the mesoporous silica precursor are blended in a solution, so that the surface functional group reacts with the terminal functional group to form a bond, and a mesoporous silica material is formed, as well as the surface of the mesoporous silica material includes a hydrophilic group. Abstract: An active voltage drop control-type pulse power generator includes power stages, a power inverter, a power loop, a control inverter, a control loop, and a compensation unit. The power stages include power cells connected in series. Each power cell includes a switch and a capacitor connected in series, a driver for driving the switch, a bypass diode connected to both ends of the switch, and a rectifying diode connected to both ends of the capacitor. The power inverter charges the capacitor via the power loop and the rectifying diode inside each power cell. The control inverter provides a control signal for the switch via the control loop and the driver inside each power cell. The compensation unit is connected to one of the power cells and generates a compensation voltage for compensating for a voltage drop at a load according to a voltage detected in real-time from the power cell.
