Abstract: An envelope detector receives an input that is an Amplitude-Modulated (AM) or Amplitude-Shift-Keying (ASK) coded signal. Each channel has a sample switch and a diode that charge an internal sampling capacitor. A hold switch connects the internal sampling capacitor to a summing output capacitor or to a post-processing circuit. A reset switch discharges the internal sampling capacitor after each sample. Two or more channels may be time multiplexed to sample alternate cycles of the input, and then their outputs combined by the summing output capacitor or by the post-processing circuit. The diodes may be reversed to detect the negative envelope rather than the positive envelope. Clocks for the switches may be generated from the input, or may be from a separate clock source. Since the sampling window is open for a whole input cycle, the clock source is insensitive to phase error.

Abstract: A hydrostatic rail guide includes a guide rail, a guide carriage, a hydrostatic supply device, a measurement device and a controller. The guide carriage is hydrostatically mounted on the guide rail and has a hydrostatic channel filled with oil. The oil keeps the guide carriage and the guide rail at a gap. The hydrostatic supply device is adapted for supplying the oil to the hydrostatic channel and adjusting the pressure of the oil. The measurement device is installed on the guide carriage and adapted for detecting the gap between the guide carriage and the guide rail and for producing a distance signal of the measured gap. The controller is connected to the hydrostatic supply device and the measurement device. The controller is adapted for controlling the hydrostatic supply device, based on the distance signal, in order to adjust the hydrostatic pressure of the oil after being pressurized.

Abstract: A reaction system and method for producing polyoxymethylene dialkyl ethers (RO(CH2O)nR, n=1-8) by continuous acetalation of formaldehyde and aliphatic alcohol in the presence of an acid ionic liquid catalyst. The reaction system includes an acetalation reaction unit, a product separation unit, and a catalyst regeneration unit. The recyclable material and catalyst are separated by combining extraction and rectification, and a recovery rate of more than 99% for the catalyst is achieved. Water, as the byproduct, is separated from the reaction system by destroying the azeotrope of water, alcohol, aldehyde, and RO(CH2O)nR, so that the product separation and catalyst regeneration are facilitated and the catalytic cycle is achieved.

Abstract: A lung cancer diagnosing device and the method thereof are provided. Lung cancer is diagnosed by using pulse waves having a wideband pulse width, so a possibility that a patient is exposed to radiation can be reduced, and since the configuration of transmission and reception circuits and relevant hardware of the device are simple, the size of the overall module is reduced. In addition, since lung cancer is diagnosed by observing a difference between time delays of pulse waves received by a reception unit according to positions of a transmission module that transmits pulse waves, while moving along digestive organs, a complicated signal processing procedure is not required, and thus, a time required for imaging lung cancer diagnosis results can be reduced.

Abstract: A hydraulic vale controller that uses an existing pressure differential as some or all of the power source for valve operation. In a high pressure environment, such as downhole in an oil or gas well, the pressure differential between the inside of a pipe and the outside of the pipe may be adequately large to drive a linear slide valve. The valve is operated hydraulically by a piston in a bore. When a higher pressure is applied to one end of the bore and a lower pressure to the other end, the piston moves in response to the pressure differential and drive a valve attached to it. If the pressure differential is too small to drive the piston at a sufficiently high speed, a pump is provided to generate a larger pressure differential to be applied. The apparatus is conveniently constructed using multiport valves, which can be rotary valves.
