Abstract: Methods are provided to classify and identify features in mass spectral data using neural network algorithms. A convolutional neural network (CNN) was trained to identify amino acids from an unknown protein sample. The CNN was trained using known peptide sequences to predict amino acid presence, diversity, and frequency, peptide length, subsequences of amino acids classified by features include aliphatic/aromatic, hydrophobic/hydrophilic, positive/negative charge, and combinations thereof. Mass spectra data of a sample unknown to the trained CNN was discretized into a one-dimensional vector and input into the CNN. The CNN models can potentially be integrated to determine the complete peptide sequence from a spectrum, thereby improving the yield of identifiable protein sequences from mass spec analysis.

Abstract: The present invention belongs to the technical field of fluid machinery, and proposes a rotating guide vane module for hydraulic working condition adjustment and a method of assembling in a turbopump. The rotating guide vane module comprises a rotating guide vane back cover plate, a rotating guide vane front cover plate, a rotating guide vane drive gear, and rotating guide vanes. Each rotating guide vane is an integrally-formed independent component and comprises a rotating guide vane back seat, a blade, a rotating guide vane front seat, and a shaft. When the rotating guide vane module for hydraulic working condition adjustment of the present invention is used for adjusting the hydraulic working condition, a center gear rotates to drive the rotating guide vane drive gear, and then the rotating guide vanes rotate to change their opening degrees.

Abstract: Nitrogen vacancy (NV) centers in diamond combine exceptional sensitivity with nanoscale spatial resolution by optically detected magnetic resonance (ODMR). Infrared (IR)-absorption-based readout of the NV singlet state transition can increase ODMR contrast and collection efficiency. Here, a resonant diamond metallodielectric metasurface amplifies IR absorption by concentrating the optical field near the diamond surface. This plasmonic quantum sensing metasurface (PQSM) supports plasmonic surface lattice resonances and balances field localization and sensing volume to optimize spin readout sensitivity. Combined electromagnetic and rate-equation modeling suggests a near-spin-projection-noise-limited sensitivity below 1 nT Hz?1/2 per ?m2 of sensing area using numbers for contemporary NV diamond samples and fabrication techniques.

Abstract: A drilling device for surveying front rock-mass intactness of a tunnel face for a tunnel constructed by a TBM and a method using the same are provided. The drilling device includes a drilling assembly, a drill-attitude control assembly, a data monitoring assembly and a TBM-platform fixing seat. The drilling assembly is connected to a TBM hydraulic system to obtain power, to drill the rock mass by an alloy bit through rotation and translation thereof. The drill-attitude control assembly controls an angle, a direction and a position of a drill rod and maintains drilling accuracy and stability. The data monitoring assembly acquires and stores a drilling dynamic-response signal by a high-accuracy sensor and a data recorder, to analyze an intactness characteristic of the rock mass. The TBM-platform fixing seat mounts the drilling device on the TBM.

Abstract: A photonic lantern couples light from several fibers or fiber cores into one or more fibers or fiber cores. Photonic lanterns are often used to combine several lower-power beams into a single higher-power beam. They can also be used to couple light from multi-core fibers into single-mode, multi-mode, or other multi-core fibers. By modulating the phases of the input beams, the light can be switched from output to output—for example, between output cores of a multi-core output fiber. If desired, the beams can also be amplified using an active fiber in or coupled to the photonic lantern. A first photonic lantern couples signal light and pump light into the core and cladding, respectively, of an active multi-mode or multi-core fiber. And the active multi-mode or multi-core fiber couples amplified signal light into output fiber(s) via a second photonic lantern.
