Abstract: It has been discovered that the cyclic peptide EnnA inactivates the Hsp90 chaperone pathway, but without activating an extensive heat shock response and overexpression of anti-apoptotic proteins. Mechanistically distinct, EnnA inhibits Hsp90 and destabilize PDL-1 and IDO, two major immune checkpoints mediating tumor-induced immune suppression. The provided herein show that EnnA profoundly modulates the cytokine signature of cancer cells and promotes a cytokine profile that favors an immune attack on tumor cells. This translates into highly efficacious anti-tumor activity in vivo, which, when combined with a single dose of chemotherapy, completely reduced the tumor burden in experimental animals and instilled highly efficient immune memory against the primary tumor.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are embodiments of a method and system for converting ethanol to para-xylene. The method also provides a pathway to produce terephthalic acid from biomass-based feedstocks. In some embodiments, the disclosed method produces p-xylene with high selectivity over other aromatics typically produced in the conversion of ethanol to xylenes, such as m-xylene, ethyl benzene, benzene, toluene, and the like. And, in some embodiments, the method facilitates the ability to use ortho/para mixtures of methylbenzyaldehyde for preparing ortho/para xylene product mixtures that are amendable to fractionation to separate the para- and ortho-xylene products thereby providing a pure feedstock of para-xylene that can be used to form terephthalic anhydride and a pure feedstock of ortho-xylene that can be used for other purposes, such as phthalic anhydride.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a collaborative phase-shift laser ranging device based on differential modulation and demodulation of coarse and precise measuring wavelength and a ranging method thereof. A collaboration terminal is disposed at a target to be measured of a phase-shift laser ranging system, which can improve the intensity of measurement light and then irradiate the same back to a measuring terminal, thereby resolving the problem of low ranging accuracy caused by the attenuation of light intensity during long-distance ranging. The collaboration terminal detects coarseness gauge signals and modulates a laser source by means of differential modulation; the collaboration terminal detects precision gauge signals by means of difference frequency demodulation, and then the intensity of measurement light is improved by mixing and restoring the precision gauge signals and modulating the collaboration-terminal laser source.
