Abstract: A method and apparatus for modulating/demodulating an FSK signal capable of overcoming a trade-off relationship between a modulation index and a spectral efficiency are disclosed. An apparatus for modulating/demodulating a frequency deviation keying (FSK) signal includes a channel selection-modulator, a phase locked loop, and an output unit. The channel selection-modulator modulates an FSK signal by setting a frequency channel to be used. The phase locked loop generates a desired output frequency ‘fout’ compared to a reference frequency ‘fREF’ by adjusting a frequency division ratio (N+n) with respect to a frequency of the modulated FSK signal. The output unit amplifies the FSK signal having the generated output frequency ‘fout’ and radiating the amplified FSK signal through an antenna. Here, each of the frequency channels is divided into two or more tones, and different frequency channels are allocated between the tones divided into two or more tones.

Abstract: A non-contact muscle signal sensing and assisting device, comprises a radar sensing module, a microprocessor and an electrical stimulation module. The radar sensing module continuously transmits a first microwave signal to a muscle bundle part and receives a corresponding reflected muscle signal, and performs a demodulation procedure on a second microwave signal and the reflected muscle signal to obtain and output a demodulated muscle signal. The microprocessor performs a muscle-movement signal characteristic processing procedure on the demodulated muscle signal to obtain a characterized muscle signal. The microprocessor obtains a muscle movement parameter according to the characterized muscle signal and controls the electrical stimulation module to emit a micro electrical stimulation signal to stimulate a reflex nerve when the muscle movement parameter fits an assistive condition, thereby stimulate muscle movement.

The gas source is configured for providing gas. The refrigeration circulation comprises heat exchanger, compressor, condenser, and expansion valve. The heat exchanger is in fluid communication with the gas source and configured to cool the gas down to target temperature and to provide the gas to the machine tool. The compressor has operation frequency. The fan is configured to cool the condenser and has a rotation speed. The controller is connected to the compressor and the fan. When a target temperature difference that is equal to the machine temperature minus the target temperature is smaller than threshold temperature difference, the controller keeps the operation frequency at minimum frequency and sets the rotation speed to be smaller than a maximum rotation speed.

Abstract: Optical microcavity resonance measurements can have readout noise matching the fundamental limit set by thermal fluctuations in the cavity. Small-heat-capacity, wavelength-scale microcavities can be used as bolometers that bypass the limitations of other bolometer technologies. The microcavities can be implemented as photonic crystal cavities or micro-disks that are thermally coupled to strong mid-IR or LWIR absorbers, such as pyrolytic carbon columns. Each microcavity and the associated absorber(s) rest on hollow pillars that extend from a substrate and thermally isolate the cavity and the absorber(s) from the rest of the bolometer. This ensures that thermal transfer to the absorbers is predominantly from radiation as opposed to from conduction. As the absorbers absorb thermal radiation, they shift the resonance wavelength of the cavity.
