Abstract: Systems, methods, and vehicle for controlling a vehicle's adaptive window transparency with respect to its autonomous operation are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method of controlling adaptive window transparency includes calculating a buffer period having a start time and an end time. The method also includes adjusting transparency on a set of windows based on the start time of the buffer period and transferring control of the vehicle to the vehicle or driver based on the end time. In response to detecting an emergency, the method further includes removing all tinting on the set of windows. In another embodiment, a method of controlling adaptive window transparency includes calculating a buffer period based on a navigation route.
Abstract: A three-dimensional (3D) image dynamic correction evaluation and auxiliary design method for orthotics includes the following steps. 3D scanning information of the human body is obtained. A plurality of 2D images of the human body is obtained for identification, and the pixel values of the 2D images are calculated so as to synthesize an original 3D spine curve. The 2D images of the human body and the 3D scan information are synthesized. An image deformation prediction and correction method of body shape is used to generate a deformed body shape of the human body. A spine material properties and mechanical model prediction method is used to predict parameters of the position, direction and magnitude of the force applied by an orthotics to the human body according to the deformed body shape.

Abstract: This document describes techniques, apparatuses, and systems for a blockchain-based transactive energy system. A blockchain-based transactive energy system receives a bid associated with a supply/demand curve of a utility from a transactive node through a smart contract. A universal identifier associated with the bid may be verified by consensus nodes of the blockchain-based transactive energy system to determine a verified set of bids. The universal identifier or other data associated with the bid may be stored in an immutable database provided by a blockchain. Based on the verified set of bids, a market-clearing price of the utility may be determined and used to satisfy the bid of the transactive node according to an actual production or consumption of the utility by the transactive node. The actual production or consumption of the utility may be stored in the immutable database for future audits or verification.

Abstract: Disclosed are methods and apparatuses for image data encoding/decoding. A method for decoding a 360-degree image includes the steps of: receiving a bitstream obtained by encoding a 360-degree image; generating a prediction image by making reference to syntax information obtained from the received bitstream; adding the generated prediction image to a residual image obtained by dequantizing and inverse-transforming the bitstream, so as to obtain a decoded image; and reconstructing the decoded image into a 360-degree image according to a projection format. Therefore, the performance of image data compression can be improved.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a genetically modified microorganism satisfying some of predetermined conditions. Abstract: The present invention provides a method of making a silicon on insulator (SOI) structure, comprising steps of: providing a bonded structure, the bonded structure comprises a first substrate, a second substrate and an insulating buried layer, the insulating buried layer is positioned between the first substrate and the second substrate; peeling off a layer of removing region of the first substrate from the bonded structure to obtain a SOI structure; and processing the SOI structure with isothermal annealing technology at a pressure which is lower than atmospheric pressure.

Abstract: A membrane distillation (MD) system consisting of a membrane module and carbon nanotube immobilized membrane for organic solvent separation is disclosed. The MD module includes a feed inlet and outlet, a sweep gas inlet, and a sweep gas outlet. Thermostats are positioned at the feed inlet and outlet to measure the change in temperature. Preferential sorption of the organic on carbon nanotube immobilized membrane contributes to enhanced solvent removal of the MD system. A pervaporation (PV) system consisting of a membrane module and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) mixed matrix membranes with graphene oxide (GO)—carbon nanotubes (CNTs) for enhanced purification of the alcohol solution after membrane distillation to remove trace amount of water is disclosed.
Abstract: An image processing device can use a calculation formula based on an ellipse to approximate a base function of a reference GMM. The burden rate according to a co-occurrence correspondence point can be approximately determined by a calculation in which the Manhattan distance to the ellipse and the co-occurrence correspondence point and the width of the ellipse are input to a calculation formula for the burden rate based on the base function. The width of the ellipse is quantized by the nth power of 2 (where n is an integer of 0 or greater), and the calculation can be carried out by means of a bit shift.
