  • Patent number: 11153645
Abstract: Power aware adaptation for a power aware video streaming system may be based on the complexity information conveyed in different ways. A complexity level of a data stream, such as a video data stream, may be selected as a function of a remaining battery power of a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) and on a state set of a plurality of state sets that may be stored and/or managed by the WTRU. These state sets may correspond to, for example, different content sources and/or different complexity estimation algorithms and may be used to select the complexity level of the data stream. The data stream may then be received at the selected complexity level. The complexity level and/or a bitrate of the data stream may be adapted to accommodate, for example, the remaining battery power and/or other circumstances. The adaptation may be customized according to the objectives of use cases.

  • Publication number: 20210314112
Abstract: Wireless transmit/receive units (WTRUs) may include unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The WTRUs/UAVs may cooperate to exchange channel busy ratio (CBR) and/or CBR statistics of one or more (e.g., all) the carriers that the WTRUs/UAVs monitors with each other for carrier selection/carrier reselection. A network may provide one or more inputs on carrier selection. For example, a network may provide one or more inputs on carrier selection based on the congestion that the network infers (e.g., through the CBR measurements reported by the WTRUs/UAVs and/or through its own measurements). MAC/PHY layers may be configured to perform transmit adaptation during PDCP packet duplication. For example, the carrier aggregation capability of receivers may be considered to adapt the number of transmissions per carrier. Based on the carrier aggregation capability of the receivers, the number of transmissions at one or more (e.g., every) carriers may be optimized jointly across carriers.

  • Patent number: 11134477
Abstract: As part of carrier assignment and configuration for multicarrier wireless communications, a single uplink (UL) primary carrier may provide control information for multiple concurrent downlink (DL) carriers. Optionally, control information for each DL carrier may be transmitted over paired UL carriers. Carrier switching of UL and/or DL carriers, including primary and anchor carriers, may occur during normal operation or during handover, and may occur in only the UL or only the DL direction. A unidirectional handover is performed when only an UL carrier or only a DL carrier is switched as part of a handover. Switching of UL and/or DL carriers may be from one component carrier or a subset of carriers to another component carrier, another subset of carriers, or all carriers in the same direction.

  • Publication number: 20210297225
Abstract: A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may receive one or more physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) transmissions and each PDSCH transmission may be associated with downlink control information (DCI) and a group of PDSCH transmissions. Further, the WTRU may determine a first group or a second group based on an indication received in DCI associated with at least one of the PDSCH transmissions. Then, the WTRU may generate hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ)-acknowledgment (ACK) feedback for data received in one or more PDSCH transmissions associated with the determined group. Moreover, the WTRU may transmit the HARQ-ACK feedback. In an example, the DCI which includes the indication may schedule a plurality of PDSCH transmissions included in the determined group. In another example, the DCI which includes the indication may further include a first codepoint mapped to the first group or a second codepoint mapped to the second group.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are described herein for adapting clear channel assessment (CCA) thresholds with or without Transmit Power Control (TPC) are disclosed. An IEEE 802.11 station (STA) may dynamically calculate a STA specific transmit power control (TPC) value and a STA specific clear channel assessment (CCA) value based on a target TPC parameter and a target CCA parameter. The target TPC parameter and the target CCA parameter may be received from an IEEE 802.11 cluster head configured to control TPC and CCA for a plurality of STAs associated with the BSS. The target TPC parameter and the target CCA parameter also may be related. The STA may then determine whether a carrier sense multiple access (CSMA) wireless medium of a wireless local area network (WLAN) basic service set (BSS) is occupied or idle based on the STA specific CCA value.
