  • Patent number: 9840397
Abstract: An elevator installation has a car at least partially supported by a support including several electrically conductive tension-bearing elements, which elements are arranged parallel to each other and which are substantially surrounded by a jacket. The support is fastened to fastening devices, wherein the fastening devices each include a housing and a clamping element. The housing and the clamping element each have clamping surfaces, between which surfaces the support is clamped. An electrically insulating material is arranged between at least one side of the support and the clamping surfaces arranged thereon. • Patent number: 9834416
Abstract: A support system supports the two ends of a passenger-transportation device in a built structure. The support system 6 has a swiveling support-point at a first end with a vertical swivel-axis. The second end contains a floating support-point for absorbing horizontal movements perpendicular to the swivel-axis. The floating support-point has at least one rolling element by means of which a sliding friction caused by the occurrence of horizontal movements in the floating support-point can be transformed into combined sliding-and-rolling friction or rolling friction.

  • Publication number: 20170341907
Abstract: An elevator installation and method to passively and reliably generate electrical energy while an elevator installation is in operation includes an elevator car, a tension member for supporting and moving the elevator car, and a pulley engaging with the tension member. Piezoelectric elements are applied to or embedded within the tension member. As the tension member is driven to move the elevator car up and down along an elevator hoistway, the tension member also engages with the rotating pulley. Force imparted to the tension member during this engagement with the pulley is transmitted to the piezoelectric elements which consequently generate electrical energy.

  • Publication number: 20170291793
Abstract: An elevator brake braking and holding an elevator car in an elevator system includes a first brake lining having a first actuating device and a second brake lining, which brake linings cause braking in interaction with a braking strip or brake disk. A second actuating device is associated with the second brake lining, and the second actuating device moves the second brake lining toward the first brake lining, if necessary, thus clamping and braking the braking strip or the brake disk between the second and first brake linings. The first actuating device moves the first brake lining toward the second brake lining to clamp and brake the braking strip or the brake disk between the first and second brake linings. The first and the second actuating device operate according to different principles of operation.

  • Publication number: 20170270728
Abstract: To control access to a predetermined service or area, a system receives an activation signal indicative of a user's activation of an access code. As a result of receiving the activation signal, the system sends a verification code to a portable electronic device of the user. An access terminal receives the verification code. Access to the predetermined service or area is granted if the verification code is received at the access terminal meeting one of several predetermined conditions. One condition requires that the verification code is provided to the access terminal within a limited validity time.

  • Patent number: 9764923
Abstract: In an elevator system using multiple-deck elevator cars (130, 132), an elevator passenger (154) travels between a floor in a first zone (170) in a building (120) and a floor in a second zone (172) in the building (120). The passenger (154) travels first from one of the zones (170, 172) to a ground floor lobby (100, 101). Within a given amount of time after arriving at the lobby (100, 101), the identified passenger (154) is allowed to place an elevator call for an elevator traveling to the other zone (170, 172). Even if the call is for a destination floor not usually served from the particular ground floor lobby (100, 101), the passenger (154) is allowed to travel to the destination floor as requested.

  • Patent number: 9745170
Abstract: A method for operating an elevator control system for controlling and monitoring the movements of at least one elevator car when the elevator car approaches individual floors in a building, and in the process stops at a respective floor in a prescribed stopping position, the method including, in conjunction with a floor stop, determining an overall error in the form of a deviation between an actual position of the elevator car and a position of the elevator car assumed as the current position. The elevator control system generates service signals based on a statistical acquisition of several values for the overall error, and/or wherein the overall error is used to ascertain a derivative value, which is taken into account along with the current or stopping position during a comparison between the current position and stopping position performed by the elevator control system for approaching the respective stopping position.

  • Patent number: 9731937
Abstract: An adjustable roller-guide shoe for guiding an elevator car or a counterweight of an elevator installation contains a roller carrier, which can be fastened on the car or the counterweight, a guide roller and a roller spindle, which is arranged in the roller carrier and accommodates the guide roller. The roller spindle is positioned in the roller carrier by an adapter having an installation contour which matches a corresponding accommodating contour of the roller carrier. The adapter is configured to be fixed in different installation positions in relation to the roller carrier, and thus the roller spindle can be placed in different positions in the roller carrier, depending on the installation position of the adapter. It is thus possible for the roller-guide shoe to be operated with different roller diameters or to be adapted to different rail-web dimensions.
