Abstract: A tension controller is disposed on an entry side or both on entry and exit sides of a rolling mill to quickly suppress tension fluctuation due to change of roll gap.
Abstract: A stock liquid is made to flow into a cell through a stock inlet at one end of the cell. The stock liquid is admixed with air bubbles from an air bubble generating device disposed at a lower portion of the cell and extending between the opposite end plates of the cell, thereby forming the stock liquid into a spiral flow. Ink particles are entrapped by the air bubbles to deink the stock liquid and the air bubbles remain as froth over the free surface of the stock liquid. The froth is made to flow down to the froth trough. The deinked stock liquid is discharged to the exterior of the cell through the stock outlet at the other end of the cell.
Abstract: A trolley is reciprocally moved along a guide. A work support, supported by the trolley, is vertically moved so that the lift mechanism can be made of a compact size, a light weight and highly reliable in operation thereby increasing the processing speed of the processing line and improving productivity.
Abstract: A trolley is reciprocally moved along a guide. A work support, supported by the trolley, is vertically moved so that the lift mechanism can be made compact in size, or light weight and highly reliable in operation. Accordingly, the processing speed of the processing line is increased and the productivity is improved.
Abstract: One of male and female rotor elements is coated with a coating which is different in hardness from the other uncoated element. Even when the rotor elements come to contact with each other during the operation due to thermal expansion or the like, because of the difference in hardness between the coating and the other uncoated element, either of them which has a less degree of hardness is scraped off. As a result, accident due to contact between the male and female rotor elements can be prevented and the screw rotor can be operated with an optimum clearance between the elements.
Abstract: A diverging section is defined in a lower water passage such that the outlet or downstream end of the diverging section becomes substantially equal to the width of a front curved water passage and to the height of an upper water passage and/or one or more guide vanes are disposed within the front curved water passage such that the outlet of each of water passages defined by the adjacent guide vanes is larger in size than the inlet thereof while the intermediate section of each passage is more enlarged in size than both the inlet and the outlet thereof.
Abstract: In a circulating pool main body which defines a swimming pool or tank, a bottom partition wall and front and rear curved partition walls are disposed and spaced apart by a suitable distance from the bottom and the front and rear curved portions of the main body, thereby defining a water circulation passage having an outlet opening to an upper upstream end of the swimming tank or pool and an inlet at the upper downstream end of the swimming tank or pool so that only the upper water layer of the body of water in the swimming tank or pool is forced to flow. Furthermore, one or more swingable blades or vanes are attached to the outlet of the water circulation passage so that the flow rate of the flowing upper water layer in the swimming tank or pool and its direction may be varied.
Abstract: A method for joining a structural member made of a synthetic resin such as fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) with a further synthetic resin or other structural member. The method is effective when using synthetic resin members instead of conventional lumber or steel members in a main framework of a cooling tower. FRP members increase the corrosion resistance and simplify the assembly of such towers.
Abstract: A shield excavator excavates a shaft. Then, the excavator is caused to swing to change its posture and excavate a tunnel. Thus, the shaft and the tunnel is continuously excavated by the single machine.
Abstract: A disk is fitted over a transmission shaft which delivers drive force from a press drive to feed bars. Engagement members are selectively engaged with and disengaged from teeth on the disk so that when engagement members are engaged with the disk, the movement of the feed bars is interrupted. As a result, maintenance operation can be carried out safely.
Abstract: Nozzle shafts and a nozzle drive mechanism are disposed on the side of a bearing casing and a compressor whose temperatures are lower than that of a turbine, and elements slidable in the radial direction of the turbine wheel are eliminated from the nozzle drive mechanism so that any adverse effects due to oxidization at high temperatures and slide wear can be eliminated. Thus durability and reliability of the device can be improved.
Abstract: The center of gravity of a retaining pin which is struck into a retaining-pin receiving hole to join a rotor barrel with a rotor shaft is eccentrically positioned toward the leading end of the pin beyond the axis of the shaft so that upon rotation of the rotor, the pin is forced to thrust toward the bottom of the hole by the centrifugal force, thereby preventing the pin from pulling out of the hole.
Abstract: Directional control of a shield excavator is automatically carried out merely by inputting a direction of rotational moment to which the excavator is directed and a magnitude of the moment.

Abstract: Axially extending liquid-tight tapered spaces are defined in the barrel of a roll body. Tapered pistons are fitted in the spaces for engagement and disengagement with a bore inner surface defining the tapered spaces. A liquid under pressure is supplied through liquid passages to some of liquid pressure chambers at opposite ends of the tapered pistons so that the barrel of the roll body is increased or decreased in diameter. When the rolling forces are removed from the roll body, the roll body returns to its initial straight state.
Abstract: A trolley is reciprocably moved along a guide and work supported by the trolley is vertically moved by a lift mechanism and the lift mechanism is made compact in size, light in weight and highly reliable in operation, whereby the processing speed of a processing line can be increased and therefore productivity can be improved.
Abstract: A column belt is between upper and lower reduced-diameter columns and is only in the vicinity of and across the water surface so that the heave resonant period is increased which is due to the effect of the shape of the column belt.
Abstract: Each of a pair of opposing slides which is equipped with a die and is connected through a connecting rod to an eccentric portion of a crankshaft is displaced by a width setting device in the direction of width of a slab so as to set the width of a slab to be forged between the pair of dies. After the setting of the width of a slab to be forged, the crankshaft is rotated to cause each of the slider-pair to reciprocate not only in the direction of width of the slab but also in the direction in parallel with the slab transportation line, whereby a slab is forged.
Abstract: A molten metal pouring nozzle for a continuous casting machine having an endless-travelling type mold, wherein the endless-travelling type mold is formed with two pairs of opposing wall members endlessly travelling in the same direction and at the same speed, and one end of the pouring nozzle is connected to a tundish for receiving molten metal, and the other end of the pouring nozzle is inserted into the mold. The molten metal pouring nozzle of the present invention comprises a nozzle body made of a refractory and a flow regulator made of a refractory. The nozzle body (14, 20) has a bore (1a, 3a), through which molten metal flows, along the axial line thereof, and the sectional area of the downstream end portion of the bore (1a, 3a) becomes gradually larger toward the downstream end thereof. The flow regulator (15, 18) is arranged at the center of the downstream end portion of the bore (1a, 3a) of the nozzle body (14, 20).
