  • Patent number: 5626403
Abstract: A brake pressure regulator comprising a hydraulically actuable slide valve integrated in a receiving bore within the valve accommodating body. The slide valve, in response to the switching position of the electromagnetic valves, controls the pressure fluid volume between a pressure fluid source and a pressure fluid consumer. The pressure regulator includes pressure fluid channels terminating on both front faces of the slide valve which are hydraulically connected through an inlet valve to the pressure fluid consumer. Preferably the slide valve includes a circular groove provided with a control edge and interconnecting the pressure fluid source and the inlet valve through a feed-in channel. The invention employs the principle of preventing leakage flows from occurring by suitably arranging pressure fluid channels and sealing elements and by pointedly guiding the pressure fluid flow.

  • Patent number: 5614882
Abstract: A process for monitoring tire pressure by comparing and evaluating the rotating speeds of the individual wheels of the vehicle which is based on the formation of speed correction factors. The values of the individual correction factors, correlations between the correction factors for typical travel situations, and tolerances for the correction factors, which depend on the actual travel situation, are determined during a learning phase (i.e. phase 1). The deviations of the correction factors from the learned values are determined and evaluated during a subsequent identification phase (i.e. phase 2), taking into account the travel situation-dependent tolerances and the progression of the learning process.

  • Patent number: 5611413
Abstract: A controllable valve arrangement for controlling two-tube vibration absorbers comprises a power cylinder with an interior space subdivided into a first and a second power chambers by virtue of a slidable piston, and with a balancing chamber partly filled with oil. A valve body is actuated by an electromagnetical transducer and prestressed by a spring. The valve body influences a hydraulic connection through which a unidirectional flow is passed. In a traction stage, a unidirectional flow exists between the first power chamber, on one hand, and the second power chamber jointly with the balancing chamber, on the other hand. In a thrust stage, a unidirectional flow exists between the first power chamber jointly with the second power chamber, on one hand, and the balancing chamber, on the other hand.

  • Patent number: 5609329
Abstract: A vibration damping element for attaching a windshield wipers drive unit to an automobile. The element incorporates the assembly screws, in preassembled condition, and retains them in the assembly position on the respective vibration damping element by a detachment prevention portion. To a achieve reliable detachment prevention and to reduce the effort in preassembling the assembly screws, the opening of the vibration damping element is closed by an elastomeric diaphragm attached to the vibration damping element for producing the detachment prevention. The diaphragm has a central hole with a smaller inside diameter than the thread diameter of the assembly screw. Thus, the assembly screw is held captive on the vibration damping element by the edge of the central hole being clamped elastically on the threaded screw stem.

  • Patent number: 5609399
Abstract: A hydraulic braking system with slip control, comprising a working piston guided within the brake pressure generator, a booster piston of a hydraulic brake force booster for actuating the working piston at least one wheel brake connected to the brake pressure generator and an electrically excitable auxiliary pressure source adapted to be connected to the brake force booster, a control and regulating electronic unit for detecting the wheel rotating pattern and for controlling the wheel braking pressure by pressure modulating valves. An electronic sensor is provided for detecting the relative movement between the pressure rod and the booster piston, the output signals of which are capable to influence the excitation of the auxiliary pressure source. This will permit the brake force boosting, if need be, to be effected independently of actuation forces put in manually, with anti-locking control/traction slip control functions being readily exercisable at any time.

  • Patent number: 5609182
Abstract: A valve for high-pressure radial piston pumps suitable for controlled brake systems. Prior art pumps consist of at least 5 elements. The valve includes less components and thus is less expensive to manufacture and easier to assemble. The valve's simplicity derives from the use of cold extruded connections between the valve and the housing, so that separate rubber sealings are superfluous, and which provide for a strong and non-detachable connection. Favorable embodiments of the present invention integrate some of the known valve elements thus reducing the number of the necessary cold extruded connections.

  • Patent number: 5605385
Abstract: A brake system arranged for the control both of the brake slip and of the traction slip is presented. In order that during a traction slip control action the brake circuits are rapidly supplied with the required volume of hydraulic pressure fluid at a sufficiently high pressure level, a medium-pressure accumulator is provided which is connected to the suction side of the pump and whose pressure supplied upstream of the pump is higher than the resistances in the brake circuit, in particular higher than the sum of the opening pressures of the suction-side and delivery-side valves of the pump plus the resistance of the wheel brake.

  • Patent number: 5605088
Abstract: A vacuum brake power booster for automotive vehicles includes a booster housing whose interior is subdivided into a vacuum chamber and a working chamber by a moveable wall. A control housing carries the moveable wall and accommodates a control valve which controls a pressure differential acting upon the moveable wall. The control valve has at least two sealing seats cooperating with an elastic valve member and is operable by an actuating rod. One of the sealing seats is operable, irrespective of the actuating rod, by an electromagnet whose armature is in force-transmitting interaction with one of the sealing seats. An electrical switching apparatus is also included, the control signals of which influence the current supply of the electromagnet thereby enabling its deactivation. The switching apparatus are operable by a relative movement between a valve piston and the control housing.

  • Patent number: 5600110
Abstract: A steering column switch is contained within a switch housing and a control lever is rotatably supported in a carrier. The carrier is rotatable transversely to the motion plane of the control lever in the switch housing. The control lever is pivotable in succession about two axes allocated to the actuation of two corresponding switches. The steering column switch greatly extends switch life by using suitable limiting components within the lever which reduce the wear on the lever caused by switching actuation. An improved embodiment includes providing the pivoting lever with a longitudinal aperture for pivoting the lever about two axes.

  • Patent number: 5600100
Abstract: An electrical device with a punched plate embedded in a plastic plate is described. The punched-out conductive contact elements are still interconnected prior to the embedding operation for ease of manipulation of the plate. The link of the conductive contact elements is a U-shaped tab which, prior to the embedding operation, stands roughly perpendicular on the conductive contact elements and is cut after the manufacture of the plastic plate. This cutting operation of the conductive contact elements is possible without holes in the plastic plate.

  • Patent number: 5562327
Abstract: A circuit configuration for detecting wheel sensor malfunctions includes circuits which process and analyze the sensor signals (s.sub.1 to s.sub.4), which ascertain the speed (v.sub.Rmax, v.sub.Rmin), deceleration and acceleration (a.sub.R) of the individual wheels and which compare these values with one another and compare them with predetermined threshold values (a.sub.0, v.sub.0, v.sub.1, -a.sub.1). Upon the detection of signals or combinations of signals typical of a sensor malfunction, the control will be disconnected after a predetermined period of time (T, T1+T2). When the measured acceleration values (a.sub.R) are below an overspeed threshold (a.sub.0) and the speed at any one of the remaining wheels is below a bottom speed threshold (v.sub.0), the control will be disconnected as soon as the speed of a wheel (v.sub.Rmax) exceeds a top speed threshold (v.sub.1). A time monitoring function is started in the presence of a measured acceleration value (a.sub.R) which is above the overspeed threshold (a.
