    Abstract: A method is described for fabricating an arrangement where a connector (12, FIG. 1) lies on a circuit board (14) and contacts (26) have forward contact parts lying in passages (18) of the connector insulator (16) and board-received contact parts lying in interference fit in holes (24) of the circuit board, which facilitates replacement of a single damaged contact. An installing tool (70, FIG. 3) has channels (80) that receive the forward contact parts (40) and leave the board-received contact parts (32) projecting therefrom. The installing tool with contacts therein is moved towards the circuit board to press the projecting board-received parts of the contacts into the circuit board holes (24). The installing tool is then removed, leaving the contacts behind with their forward parts projecting up from the circuit board. The connector insulator (16, FIG. 4) is then moved so its passages receive the forward contact parts, the connector then being fastened to the circuit board.

    Abstract: A brake system operates on the back-flow principle during brake slip control and is furnished with a self-priming pump (9) to achieve, during traction slip control, a rapid response of the wheel brakes without requiring the use of a high-pressure accumulator. This is achieved by a low-pressure accumulator (6) of a special design which includes an intake channel (7) to the intake side of the pump (9) for brake slip control and a separate intake channel (8) to the intake side of the pump (9) for traction-slip control. During brake slip control, only a partial discharge of the low-pressure accumulator (6) up to a defined remaining standby volume, through the brake slip control intake channel (7), is enabled because a valve (24, 25) controlled by the piston stroke will then close. Upon commencement of a traction slip control action, a valve in the traction slip control intake channel (8) is opened electromagnetically.

    Abstract: A connector assembly is provided, which is compact and of light weight and which can lock to the rear of an IC (integrated circuit) card. The assembly includes a frame (54, FIG. 2 ) with a wide front portion (56) and a narrower rearward extension (90) that has a horizontal groove (92). A circuit board (74) has a slot (100), with opposite walls of the circuit board slot received in opposite groove parts of the frame rearward extension. A cable (20) whose front end is held to the rear of the board, has insulated wires (70) held in place against the board by tabs (120) projecting from the rearward extension. A pair of bendable latching arms (34, 36) project forwardly from the front of the frame for reception in a central aperture at the rear of the IC card. The frame has a central opening through which a locking pin (150) can slide to lock the arms in the IC card.

    Abstract: A mounting arrangement is provided for mounting a coaxial connector (1) on a circuit board (2). The connector has an inner conductor (6) with a downwardly projecting pin portion (9) and has an outer conductor (40) with downwardly extending conductive legs (10-13) arranged in a circle (42). The circuit board has a center hole (17) for receiving the pin portion, and has a circle of outer holes (14-18) for receiving the legs. The pin portion (9) is offset a distance (X) from alignment with the board center hole (17), so an enlargement (44) of the pin portion is deflected as it enters the board center hole. In the final position, a shoulder (20) on the enlargement abuts a lower board surface (46).

    Abstract: A wavefront array processor where each cell includes a handshake port for asynchronous data transfer with an adjacent cell. The handshake port includes a buffer for receiving data from the adjacent cell and a latch for transferring data to the adjacent cell. Data transfer is accomplished through use of a handshaking protocol which indicates whether or not a receiving buffer is full and if the buffer can receive data. Data can only be transferred if there is room in the buffer to accept the data. The handshaking protocol responds to status signals. A source status signal indicates that a data source has generated a data word. A sink status signal indicates that the buffer can receive data. Each cell further includes a data processing unit, which provides the latch with data and which accesses data from the buffer, and a blocking device, which allows the data processing unit or another handshake port to transfer data to the latch and the buffer to accept data, only when the handshake signals are appropriate.

    Abstract: A circuit configuration for a vehicle with electronic anti-lock control having circuits for individual control of the braking pressure variation in the wheel brakes of the wheels of one vehicle axle and for limiting the yawing moment owing to braking pressure differences. Circuits (6) detect the pressure reduction signals (PA1, PA2) individually per wheel and determine the pressure difference (DA12) from these signals. In the case of different friction values (.mu.-split situation), the mean pressure build-up gradient at the high-value wheel is varied as a function of the pressure difference (DA12) and the vehicle deceleration. At the time of the appearance of the peak yawing moment, namely directly before the low-value wheel will reenter the stable range, the braking pressure at the high-value wheel will be reduced by a value dependent on the vehicle deceleration and on the pressure difference.

    Abstract: There is disclosed a tunable notch filter which has a bandpass characteristic and where a tunable notch is added to the bandpass filter by placing a resonator outside the input or output probe of the bandpass filter. The bandpass filter is a resonant type of filter and comprises a plurality of parallel, spaced apart resonators. The tunable notch resonator is positioned near the input or output probe and operates to direct a substantial amount of energy from the filter at the frequency at which the notch resonator is tuned. In this manner a notch is created within the bandpass characteristic of the filter and which notch resonator can be tuned to provide the notch anywhere in the filter passband or above or below the band edges.

    Abstract: The present invention is a vacuum housing for an image intensifier tube, wherein the vacuum housing is unistructurally formed from a dielectric material and retains a photocathode, microchannel plate (MCP) and anode within an evacuated environment.     Abstract: A test system for measuring the characteristics of an active circuit employs a pulsed bias technique for periodically biasing the input control port of the active circuit into the active region of operation. Biasing is achieved with a bias voltage that is periodically pulsed ON and OFF. An RF source is pulse modulated ON and OFF synchronously with the pulsed bias voltage and applied to the input control port of the active circuit. The pulsed RF occupies a portion of the time interval encompassed by the pulsed bias voltage. These voltages are combined and applied to the input port of the active circuit which operates only during the presence of the pulsed bias voltage and which is OFF during the absence of the pulsed bias voltage. A DC supply is utilized to bias the output port. The amplified RF power is then measured at the output port of the circuit, after the RF power has been separated from the DC bias by a non-reciprocal device.

An isolator (92) of insulative material surrounds an inner portion of the second terminal, so when the contacting end portion is in its unshorting position, it cannot move sidewardly against the second terminal.
