Abstract: Disclosed is a sewing machine with work edge cutting mechanism having an upper blade 13a which is operated to cut the work edge in cooperation with a lower blade 1a during stitching operation, the upper blade being stopped and retreated to an inoperative position below the needle plate 30 in case the stitching operation is performed without necessity of cutting the work edge, the sewing machine substantially comprising a main drive shaft 2 which is rotated to vertically reciprocate a machine needle 31, a device for converting the rotation of the main drive shaft into vertical movement, a device for transmitting the vertical movement to the upper blade, a device for intercepting the transmission movement of the transmitting means, wherein the intercepting device is operated to cause the upper blade to retreat from the operative position to the inoperative position below the needle plate.

Abstract: A needle threading device of a sewing machine, wherein an operating lever is manually operated to move down against spring action until a threading hook secured to the lower end of a threading bar comes to a position where there is an eye of machine needle. The threading bar is then axially rotated. With the axial rotation of the threading bar, the threading hook is rotated to pass through the needle eye. With release of the operating lever from the manual operation, the threading bar is moved up by spring action while the threading hook catches an upper thread of the sewing machine and is pulled out of the needle eye.

Abstract: Disclosed is a sewing machine having a pattern selecting device including a pattern selecting dial and an electronic indicator for indicating a pattern selected by the pattern selecting device. More particularly, the pattern selecting device includes a mode switch 2 which is rotated by a pattern selecting dial 5 and has a plurality of switches Sw arranged in coaxial circles, a plurality of projections 2c arranged in coaxial circles, and an electronic indicator 10. A pattern is optionally selected by the projections 2c and switches Sw which are turned on in optional combination by rotation of the mode switch 2, and the selected pattern is indicated at the electronic indicator 10.

Abstract: A threading device of sewing machine is disclosed, wherein the upper thread extended from a thread supply mounted on a sewing machine body may be easily and smoothly guided into engagement with a thread holder simultaneously when the threading device is operated to pass the upper thread through the eye of needle attached to the lower end of needle bar, the thread holder being arranged between the thread supply and the needle.

Abstract: An embroidering device connected to a network and the network system thereof is disclosed, wherein an embroidering device 1 is connected to a personal computer 2 by means of wire or wireless while the personal computer 2 is connected to a network 3 including an internet and is connected to an optional server 4. An instruction is given from the embroidering device 1 to the personal computer 2 to connect the embroidering device 1 to the network 3 and thereby to the server 4. The personal computer 2 seeks a required one of the information prepared by the server 4 and downloads the sought information. For example, the personal computer 2 obtains a list of embroidery pattern data. When the user selects optional one of the pattern data, the selected pattern data is downloaded from the server 4 and transmitted to the embroidering device 1.
