Abstract: A thread holding mechanism of a sewing machine which holds a thread supplied from a thread supply source includes a thread gripper unit that grips one end of a supplied thread, and a thread presser unit structured in a unified manner with the thread gripper unit and provided between the thread gripper unit and the thread supply source. Provided at the thread-supply-source side is a thread guide that guides another end of the thread, and when the thread gripper unit descends below the thread guide, the thread presser unit abuts the thread.

Abstract: The invention provides a magnifier for a sewing machine that is mounted on a sewing machine main body and magnifies a view of a front end of a needle which is mounted on a needle bar front end that moves vertically and a vicinity of a cloth presser. The magnifier includes: a supporting arm part A, at one end of which a lens holding part 2 having a holding unit 4 that detachably holds a lens is provided, and at the other end of which a mounting part 3 for mounting the magnifier on the sewing machine main body is provided; and a lens main body B that is constituted by connected part 6 which is detachable to the lens holding part 2, and a lens part 5 which is formed continuously to the connected part 6.

Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide an embroidery cloth presser which prevents a needle thread from being sandwiched between the embroidery cloth presser and a cloth to allow an embroidery frame to move smoothly and which also prevents inappropriate draw-in of the needle thread, that is, prevents a cross-over thread of the needle thread resulting from long-distance movement of the embroidery frame from remaining on an embroidery surface. An embroidery cloth presser is installed on a presser bar of a sewing machine to press a cloth to be embroidered and which includes a projection provided on a bottom surface of the cloth presser which contacts the cloth around a needle and forming, between the cloth presser and the cloth, a gap through which a needle thread passes.
