Abstract: A sewing machine has a drive mechanism for driving an embroidering frame B, means for holding the embroidering frame B and operatively connected to the drive mechanism to be driven thereby to move the embroidering frame B in X-Y direction relative to a vertically reciprocating needle on the surface of a machine bed, and means for normally pressing the embroidering frame B against the surface of the machine bed with an optimal force to absorb the vibrations of the embroidering frame B which may be caused during embroidery stitching operation.
Abstract: A robot wherein the condition for a work and a sequence of movements to be performed may be set in connection with positions. In addition to setting a position at which a work is performed, the robot sets the conditions for performance of a work at a set position and of a sequence of movements between set positions. The set conditions may be memorized in connection with the set positions so as to be performed as are read out.
Abstract: A sewing machine having a free arm which is provided with free arm sensors 5 and 6 for detecting a contact between the free arm and a cylindrical work during embroidery stitching operation, the cylindrical work being held by an embroidering frame 23 and placed on the free arm as covering the same so as to be embroidered thereon. The contact as detected is indicated to the machine user or the sewing machine is stopped. Further, the contact detection may be used to seek an area where the work may be allowed to be embroidered. The area as sought is discriminated prior to initiation of stitching operation if the work may be embroidered in the area.
Abstract: A sewing machine having a threading device is disclosed. The sewing machine comprises a needle bar having a needle attached to a lower end thereof. The needle has a needle eye and a threading shaft has a threading member mounted to the lower end thereof. The threading member has a threading hook, a drive motor for vertically moving the threading shaft along the needle bar, guide means for guiding and rotating the threading shaft at a threading position as the threading shaft is vertically moved, and a regulating member for deciding the threading position of the threading shaft. The threading shaft is moved down and stopped at the threading position and is axially rotated to pass the threading hook through the needle eye. The threading shaft is maintained in this state until a return signal is given such that the drive motor is driven again to pull the threading hook out of the needle eye and move up the threading shaft.

Abstract: Disclosed is an electric press having a substantially airtight casing containing therein a drive device for reciprocatingly moving a ram relative to a work positioned on a base to press the work, and a device for exhausting the dusts produced within the casing from a room where the electric press is located to the outside into open air through a pipe connected to the casing, the electric press comprising dust exhausting means including at least two openings provided at the casing thereof, one of the openings being of a relatively small diameter to be used in connection with an exhauster of a normal level of exhausting ability and the other of the openings being of a relatively large diameter to be used in connection with an exhauster of a relatively low level of exhausting ability. Further the casing is divided into an upper portion and a lower portion, and the upper portion is detachably mounted to said lower portion.
