  • Patent number: 7226911
Abstract: The present invention relates to provide a protein group binding to keratin which is the major component of body hair, or genes encoding the same, particularly to keratin-associated proteins (KAP) which bind specifically and strongly to hair keratin or genes encoding the same. The base sequence of eurochromtic region of approximately 33.5 Mb of human chromosome 21 was determined, a dot-matrix analysis of the base sequence of the long arm region of chromosome 21 (21q22.3) was carried out, homology search was made to low frequency repetitive sequences and 16 KAP genes being expressed only in hair root cells were found. Moreover, the high frequency repetitive sequences present in the sequence spanning for approximately 1 Mb between CLDN8 gene and TIAM1 gene in the long arm region of chromosome 21(21q22.11) were masked, the presence or absence of short low frequency repetitive sequence was searched, and 22 KAP genes were found. Moreover, a group of functional peptide was designed from the above mentioned KAPs.

  • Patent number: 7155053
Abstract: A color type converting means 3 generates, from a primary color image, an intensity image in a hue/saturation/intensity space normalized in a cylindrical coordinate system. A region dividing means 6 analyzes the texture of the intensity image and divides the intensity image into a plurality of regions on the basis of the result of the analysis. A density conversion curve generating means 7 generates a density conversion curve for each intensity image by smoothing the histogram for each divided region. A density converting means 8 executes density conversion of the intensity image by using the smoothing a histogram of each region. A region dividing means 5 generates a primary color image by using the intensity image which is density-converted.

  • Patent number: 7152017
Abstract: The numerical analysis system of the invention analyzes the dynamical state of the compressible fluid employing Hybrid Grid Adaptation Method by Finite Volume Method. The initial grid data are created by way of free combination of tetrahedral cells, hexahedral cells and pentahedral cells. The divide-delete index is calculated according to the density of the fluid in each cell. A triangular face of the cell is divided into triangular faces and the quadrilateral face is divided into quadrilateral faces when the cell is divided. The cell is divided only when three conditions are satisfied. The first condition is that the volume of the cell is greater than the minimum volume. The second is that the dividing level of the cell is not the maximum level. The third is that the divide-delete index is greater than the dividing threshold.

  • Patent number: 7060868
Abstract: Pemphigus vulgaris (PV) is an autoimmune disease with a possible fatality of the skin and mucosae which is induced by an antibody against desmoglein 3 (Dsg3). Persistent production of anti-Dsg3 IgG can be induced by adoptively transferring spleen cells of a DSG3?/? mouse immunized with rDsg3 into an RAG2?/? immunodeficient mouse expressing Dsg3 protein. This IgG in the blood binds to the Dsg3 protein in vivo, induces the breakage of intercellular adhesion of keratinocytes and thus brings about the phenotype of pemphigus vulgaris involving the formation of blisters in the oral mucosa and the disappearance of resting hair. These effects are sustained over 6 months. By using this method, active disease model animals relating to various autoimmune diseases can be constructed.

  • Publication number: 20060047264
Abstract: A fluororesin tube body (10) of an endoscope flexible tube (1) is small in diameter and thin in wall thickness to such a degree that it is difficult to maintain its cross-sectional shape by itself when the flexible tube (1) is bent to the limit. A braid (20) woven from a plurality of flat bands (21) to form a tubular shape is disposed around the tube body (10). The mesh openings of the braid (20) are filled with filling adhesive (30), which bonds the tube body (10) and the braid (20) together. The filling adhesive (30) has enough elasticity to allow deformation of the braid (20) during the bending operation and enough adhesive strength to maintain the bond between the tube body (10) and the braid (20) even when the filling adhesive (30) is elastically deformed. Consequently, the braid (20) restricts the cross-sectional deformation of the tube body (10). Thus, the limit curvature of the flexible tube (1) can be increased.
