  • Patent number: 4799239
Abstract: A system and process for receiving phase-coherent FSK signals having data and clock components which includes a plurality of subsystems and a means for carrying data among the subsystems. At least two of the subsystems are able to communicate by means of a transmitter in one of them and a receiver in the other. The receiver includes a demodulator for separating the data and clock components of the encoded phase-coherent FSK signals. The clock demodulator includes a first transition detector and a 90-degree phase shift circuit which both receive the encoded signal. A second transition detector receives the output of the phase shift or phase delay circuit. An OR gate receives the output of the first and second transition detectors to produce a four times clock signal. The data component of the phase-coherent FSK signal is recovered by either of two alternate circuits.

  • Patent number: 4789120
Abstract: To guide and restrain essential hoses and cables of telescoping boom machines, a carrier track system for the hoses and cables is provided in which all parts of the flexible carrier track are supported during extension and retraction of the telescoping boom. The system includes a stiff leg attached to the forward end of the boom fly section and extending rearwardly thereof and engaging a guiding and restraining device on the forward end of a carrier track bridge attached to the forward end of the boom mid-section and extending rearwardly thereof and engaging a restraining and guiding device on the forward end of the boom base section. The rear of the bridge carries a guide roller assembly which engages the bight portion of the flexible carrier track which is connected between the stiff leg and the forward end of the boom base section. Spaced support rollers on the top of the bridge engage and support the stiff leg and the top stretch of the flexible carrier track along its entire length.

  • Patent number: 4731916
Abstract: A pair of fixed parallel transport rails for the outrigger box of a mobile crane are installed at the bottom of the crane chassis frame. The outrigger box is held on the chassis frame by four removable tapered pins. One jack cylinder on the outrigger box is trunnion mounted so that it can be tilted to clear the bottom of the chassis frame during removal and installation of the outrigger box. The outrigger box is equpped with transport track engaging rollers. To remove the outrigger box from the crane chassis, the box is unweighted to allow ready removal of the tapered pins. The outrigger box is then lowered until its rollers are resting on the two transport rails. A collar which retains the trunnion mounted jack cylinder of the outrigger box upright is released, and that jack cylinder is lowered to a stabilized inclined position where it can pass under the chassis frame.

  • Patent number: 4718814
Abstract: A mechanism for use on a boom-type vehicle includes load lifting forks carried by a low profile twist-resistant carriage which is one link in a low profile parallelogram linkage attached to a fly section of the boom and maintained level in all positions of the boom by a slave cylinder connected between the boom and a slave link which constitutes a member of the parallelogram linkage. The mechanism can be adjusted to many positions while automatically maintaining the relative position of the forks with respect to the vehicle frame for any boom angle. The mechanism can be adjusted to provide a long reach over or under obstructions in order to remove or place a load. It may also engage loads below ground level. Load pick-up or placement can be performed in confined areas which are unreachable by conventional forklift trucks.

  • Patent number: 4664272
Abstract: A power actuator on the base section of a multisection telescoping crane boom can bridge at least one intermediate boom section to operate a biased locking pin retract mechanism employed in a system for remotely controlling the operation of a manual fly section of the telescoping boom. To enable the crane operator to know with certainty that the biased locking pin is in a fully engaged position, a visual indicator on the boom readily viewable from the crane operator's cab is directly mechanically linked to the biased locking pin and moves to the indicating position only when the locking pin is fully engaged.

  • Patent number: 4651861
Abstract: A jamming mechanism for a coin-operated vending machine has a first slide member movable between a normal checked position in which the vending machine is locked out of service and a coin-activated operative position in which the vending machine is placed in service. A second slide member engageable by a user of the vending machine is releasably interconnected by a breakable element to the first slide to prevent relative movement therebetween in the absence of predetermined force applied to the second slide to break the breakable element. The second slide can thus normally be used to control the movement of the first slide from the checked position to the operative position when the proper coins are inserted. If excessive force is applied, the breakable element breaks and a spring-loaded stop pin extends from the first slide to engage the body of coin mechanism to prevent movement of the first slide.
