  • Patent number: 9170811
Abstract: The structured control instruction fetch unit is a structured instruction stream controller that processes expand (XP), expand register indirect (XPR), loop (LOOP), and break (BRK) instructions for structured control. The fetch unit processes stop bits that mark the end of instruction blocks. Any instruction can be marked with a stop bit to indicate that it is the last one in an instruction block. All instructions are encoded with a predicate to reduce the use of control instructions and to simplify the control. A control stack guides instruction fetching by storing return addresses, loop block addresses, loop predicates, and loop counters. Control instructions and stop bits manage operation of the control stack. An instruction unit feeds execution units and includes a set-associative instruction cache, a control stack, an instruction buffer that decouples instruction fetching from execution, instruction decoders, and program counter (PC) control logic.

Abstract: Organoclay is used as an alternative emulsifier and reinforcing agent and to enhance the strength of emulsified polymeric gel aqueous solutions and form water in oil emulsions. The stability of the emulsion can be controlled by controlling salinity and the intensity of initial mixing. The new system can be used for water shut-off treatments as well as a relative permeability modifier in high water permeability zones. In addition, the system can tolerate salts much better than classical surfactants. This system will be appropriate for wellbores having high temperature (>85° C.) with harsh environmental conditions.

  • Publication number: 20150300859
Abstract: A sensor system detects the occurrence of two-phase flow by comparing records of fluidelastic force coefficients, which are characteristically different for single-phase and two-phase flows. A baseline of measurements is obtained for a single phase flow, and a baseline of measurements is obtained for a two-phase flow. Measurements of the amplitude and phase of the fluidelastic forces are recorded, and the corresponding fluidelastic force coefficients computed. The fluidelastic force coefficients can be determined for any flow, and compared to the baselines to determine whether the flow is a single-phase or two-phase flow.

  • Patent number: 9162902
Abstract: A method for the removal of aqueous phase selenite and selenate species using TiO2 assisted photocatalysis employing the use of artificial light, or solar radiation, in conjunction with EDTA as a hole scavenger. Among the two processes, UV-lamp assisted photocatalysis has the highest efficiency comparatively followed by solar light assisted photocatalysis. TiO2 mediated photocatalysis in conjunction with EDTA as an h+ scavenging agent is an efficient technique for selenium ion removal.

  • Patent number: 9152904
Abstract: A method for encoding a multi-lingual text in a matrix code symbol includes receiving a multi-lingual text comprising Latin-based characters in a Latin-based language and non-Latin-based characters in a non-Latin-based language, converting the non-Latin-based characters in the multi-lingual text to index values to produce a pseudo text, and encoding the pseudo text in a matrix-code symbol. The conversion is based on a predefined mapping that converts the Unicode values of the non-Latin-based characters to index values having fewer digits than the corresponding Unicode values of the non-Latin-based characters.

  • Patent number: 9145388
Abstract: A series of new 6-piperazinyl-3,4-dihydroquinazolin-2(1H)-ones have been synthesized. The compounds are structurally related to adoprazine, a potential atypical antipsychotics bearing potent D2 receptor antagonist and 5-HT1A receptor agonist properties. Buchwald-Hartwig coupling of suitably modified aryl bromides with tert-butyl piperazine-1-carboxylate afforded the advanced intermediate piperazinyl-3,4-dihydroquinazolin-2(1H)-one. The reductive amination of the latter with appropriately designed biarylaldehydes accomplished the synthesis of these compounds.

  • Patent number: 9148849
Abstract: The coverage, connectivity and communication (C3) protocol method for wireless sensor networks is an integrated and energy-efficient protocol for Coverage, Connectivity and Communication (C3) in WSNs. The C3 protocol uses RSSI to divide the network into virtual rings, defines clusters with clusterheads more probably at alternating rings, defines dings, which are rings inside a cluster, uses triangular tessellation to identify redundant nodes, and communicates data to sink through clusterheads and gateways. The protocol strives for near-optimal deployment, load balancing, and energy-efficient communication. Simulation results show that the C3 protocol ensures partial coverage of more than 90% of the total deployment area, ensures 1-connected network, and facilitates energy-efficient communication, while expending only ¼th of the energy compared to other related protocols.

  • Patent number: 9138969
Abstract: A process for the preparation of thermal insulation sheets fashioned from certain unseparated mixtures of post-consumer plastic articles and the article, itself, is disclosed. The mixtures of such articles contain polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and polystyrene (PS) and optionally also articles made of high density polyethylene (HDPE). An unseparated mixture of such articles is provided. This mixture is crushed and shredded to form plastic flakes, and these plastic flakes are then homogenized. Homogenization of the flakes can be carried out either by melt-blending them or by further comminution to produce very fine particles of the mixed plastics. The resulting homogenized mixture of plastic types is then compression molded into sheets ranging in thickness from about 3 to 10 mm.

  • Patent number: 9137082
Abstract: The system and method for joint compensation of power amplifier's distortion provides a linearization scheme for transmitter power amplifiers driven by orthogonal frequency division multiplexing signals. A pre-compensated over-driven amplifier is employed at the transmitter. The over-driven amplifier's distortions are considered as a sparse phenomenon and compressive sensing (CS) algorithms are employed at the receiver to estimate and compensate for these distortions. A bandwidth efficient data aided scheme which does not require reserving subcarriers specifically for CS measurements is utilized.
