  • Patent number: 4924983
Abstract: A propelling clutch apparatus for a working vehicle comprises a friction type hydraulic clutch mounted on a propelling line, a valve for adjusting an oil pressure applied to the hydraulic clutch, a sensor for detecting angular acceleration of a rotary shaft included in the propelling line, and a control unit for controlling the hydraulic clutch in response to a change in a vehicle running state. The control unit effects controls in three stages. The first stage includes a preliminary step of narrowing spaces between friction disks of the hydraulic clutch by applying the oil pressure at a maximum level to the hydraulic clutch for a predetermined time from receipt of a clutch engaging command, and a subsequent main step of applying the oil pressure with predetermined characteristics. The second stage is for maintaining the hydraulic clutch in a half-clutch state when the angular acceleration in an accelerating direction or a decelerating direction reaches a predetermined value.

  • Patent number: 4920809
Abstract: A device for measuring torque in a shaft without contacting the latter. A torque transmitting shaft is formed with at least one detecting magnetically anisotropic region inclined to form an angle with respect to the axis of rotation of this shaft. A detecting coil is disposed on the periphery of the detecting magnetically anisotropic region. When the detecting voltage for the detecting coil changes owing to temperature changes and time-dependent changes, the changes in the detection sensitivity and in the zero point take place, leading to errors during torque measurement. Correct measured values can be obtained by having a device for correcting such changes in sensitivity and zero point.

  • Patent number: 4919732
Abstract: New Iron-Neodymium-Boron base alloys containing hafnium diboride, zirconium diboride and titanium diboride are disclosed. The alloys are subjected to rapid solidification processing technique which produces cooling rates between 10.sup.5 to 10.sup.7 .degree.C.second. The as-quenched filament, ribbon or particulate, powder etc. consists predominantly of a single amorphous phase. The amorphous powder is heat treated above the crystallization temperature into microcrystalline powder which is subsequently ground into ultrafine particles with average size less than 5 microns by attritor or hammer mill. The ultrafine powder particles are simultaneously aligned and cold compacted by the combined action of an applied magnetic field and uniaxial pressure. The green compacts containing particles with mostly aligned grains with their easy magnetization axes parallel to the applied field direction are sintered into bulk forms.

  • Patent number: 4905915
Abstract: A method and apparatus for pulverizing a material such as sand to a desired particle size. The apparatus has a pulverizing shell in which the material to be pulverized is fed and pulverized. The pulverized fluid-carried material overflows the shell so as to be fed into a settling classifier, where the coarser material settles and is discharged through its bottom opening back into the shell for repulverization. The finer material overflows the classifier and is fed to an intermediate bin, which has its bottom connected to the shell through a valve. When the bin is filled up with the material, the valve is opened so that the material in the bin is returned to the shell. The material is thus circulated through the shell, classifier and intermediate bin. The shell is adapted to be alternately connected to the intermediate bin and a product collector bin by a changeover valve.
