  • Patent number: 4187955
Abstract: An arrangement for absorbing the thermal expansions of the steel lining of a prestressed cast pressure tank by means of the mounting support of an armored or steel-plated pipe which is passed through the lining and the prestressed cast pressure tank. The steel-plated pipe, at that opening thereof which faces the interior of the tank, has a circumferential, collar-like mounting support which is open toward the interior of the tank. One end of the mounting support is welded to the lining in such a way that the connection is impermeable to gas. The shoulder of the mounting support is positively connected with the cast pressure tank.

  • Patent number: 4188140
Abstract: A welded joint between pipes and pressure bearing elements, such as tube plates, pressure tanks, accumulators, or the like. The pipes and elements have a lip-shaped extension in the joint region. The joint connection is effected in this joint region by a full through-weld which is substantially free of crevices. The joint connection of pipe-to-element lies within the region where the pipe penetrates the element. A free space remains below the element lip between the pipe and the element. The space which is located above the element lip, and which is defined or bordered by the element lip, the pipe, and a centering bushing or sleeve known per se, is filled up with welding material. The centering bushing serves only as a temporary aid during the welding operation and is removed, e.g. is bored out, after the welding operation has been completed.

  • Patent number: 4165021
Abstract: A hot or cold operating cast pressure container having an inner steel lining which positively or nearly positively engages the inner wall of the cast pressure container directly or indirectly through the intervention of a filling compound having thermal insulation. The cast pressure container also has a framework for stabilizing the lining against undue deformations. This framework is connected with the cast structure by anchoring elements. Spacers are provided between the framework and the lining.

  • Patent number: 4103647
Abstract: An apparatus for drying wet steam and subsequently superheating the dried steam, which comprises an upright cylindrical container with a coarse separator in the bottom region of the container and with an axially upwardly following fine separator. Arranged within the container in the axially upward direction of the fine separator is a passage around which there are located superheating elements which are parallel to the axis of the container and extend nearly up to the upper bottom of the container.

  • Patent number: 4043833
Abstract: A method of and device for cleaning the slot-like openings of distribution and collection pipes of a continuously operating ion exchanger column. During the treatment phase, the ion exchange particles within the ion exchanger bed do not exchange places, and the bed has an axial movement without temporal interruption. The medium stream which flows through the distribution and collection pipes undergoes a flow reversal for a limited time in periodic succession with initial reduction of the rate of flow.

  • Patent number: 4023611
Abstract: A method of connecting a pipe to a pressure conveying element, especially a pipe plate, a pressure container, and a collector, according to which the pressure conveying element is within the region of its intended connection with the pipe provided with lips. After the pipe provided on its inside and outside with a lip has been introduced into the pressure conveying element, the pipe is at its outer lip connected to the lip of the element by a complete through weld. Subsequently a centering bushing is introduced into the pipe and is clamped therein so that the outer surface of the centering bushing together with the inner surface of a bore in the conveying element--which bore is substantially coaxially arranged with regard to the pipe--forms a flat annular trough, whereupon the space between the outside surface of the centering bushing and the inner surface of the trough is filled with welding material.

  • Patent number: 4015742
Abstract: A anchorage of a lining to a pressure vessel in which T-shaped anchors are connected to the lining. The anchors extend along the longitudinal axes of the cylindrical sections with which the linings are associated. The anchors extend into cutouts in these sections, with clearance provided around the anchors. The spaces between the anchors and the cutout, and between the pressure vessel and the lining, are filled, e.g. with concrete or a mixture of cement with steel balls.

  • Patent number: 4007699
Abstract: Method and apparatus for differentially rolling-in tubes into plates and walls, especially of heat exchangers, according to which the magnitude of the expansion of the tube section to be rolled-in into the respective wall or plate is predetermined, is ascertained and maintained during the rolling-in action. The magnitude of the tube expansion for connection of the tube to the respective plate or wall is adjustable in conformity with a program and has different values over the rolling-in length of the tube.

  • Patent number: 3950156
Abstract: A means for separating liquids from a gaseous medium with undulated deviating elements which are arranged adjacent to each other in the direction of flow of the gaseous medium. These deviating elements within the region of their crests have catching troughs open in a direction counter to the direction of flow of the gaseous medium for the liquid to be separated from the latter. The catching troughs which, when looking in the direction of flow of the gaseous medium are located in the front region of the means, are within their inlet region each provided with a front and a rear confinement with the front confinement being overlapped by the rear confinement, the catching troughs located in the rear region of the means being free from confinements overlapping each other. The rear confinements of at least a part of said catching troughs lead into a groove followed by the closed confinement of the next following catching trough.
