Patent number: 8620267Abstract: A method of and arrangement for detecting a manipulated or defect base station of a communication network is disclosed, wherein a target base station, having selected one or more algorithms on the basis of a prioritized algorithm list (PAL) and a UE security capabilities (SCAP), reports UE SCAP related information to a core network node. The core network node having knowledge of the UE SCAP compares this information or parts of this information with the retrieved UE SCAP related information in order to be able to identify a manipulated or defect base station when a comparison fails to match.Type: GrantFiled: August 25, 2008Date of Patent: December 31, 2013Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericssion (publ)Inventors: Karl Norrman, Bernard Smeets, Rolf Blom

Patent number: 8620917Abstract: An application server includes a Semantic Analysis Core Service (SACS) function that communicates with a Semantic Analysis Client (SAC) in a Set Top Box (STB). The SACS groups programs available for rendering to a subscriber into program clusters. The SACS generates the program clusters based on a determined semantic similarity between the programs, and on parameters that indicate a subscriber's preference for certain program content. The program that are semantically similar to existing clusters within a predetermined viewing window are provided to the STB and output to the subscriber on a display as a program preference list or channel line-up. The STB also monitors the subscriber's interaction with the programs and calculates a preference score for each program indicating the subscriber's continuing, or waning, interest in a given program. The preference score is used to update the score of the program cluster to which the program belongs.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 2011Date of Patent: December 31, 2013Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Sorin Marian Georgescu, Edoardo Gavita

Patent number: 8616376Abstract: A container of opening a container is provided. The container includes an outer shell slidably carrying a dispensing cartridge between open and closed states. A cooperating catch arrangement is operably interposed between the outer shell and the dispensing cartridge. The cooperating catch arrangement has a locked state that fixes the dispensing cartridge in the closed state relative to the outer shell and an unlocked state in which the dispensing cartridge is permitted to slide relative to the outer shell from the closed state to the open state. The cooperating catch arrangement is operable to be transitioned from the locked state to the unlocked state by resiliently reducing a width of the outer shell along a compression axis which resiliently expands a thickness of the outer shell along an expansion axis to disengage cooperating catch arrangement. A method of opening includes compressing the outer shell to disengage the cooperating catch arrangement.Type: GrantFiled: April 15, 2011Date of Patent: December 31, 2013Assignee: J. L. Patent number: 8619592Abstract: A decompressor, a compressor and methods in an Internet Protocol (IP) network for reporting cause of missing packets. A cause of unsuccessful reception or sending of a compressed packet addressed is reported to a compressor/decompressor node. The compressor/decompressor node decides or predicts if a decompression context associated with the decompressor is invalidated by analyzing the cause of the unsuccessful reception and, optionally, analyzing a re-initialization agreement between the compressor and the decompressor. In an optional embodiment of the present invention, the compressor/decompressor node use the decision or prediction to exchange information to reinitialize the decompression context associated with the decompressor. In a preferable embodiment of the present invention, the detection of the unsuccessful sending or reception is performed at a Medium Access (MAC) layer associated with the compressor/decompressor node.Type: GrantFiled: June 11, 2003Date of Patent: December 31, 2013Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (Publ)Inventors: Ghyslain Pelletier, Lila Madour

Patent number: 8619772Abstract: Method and router supporting tracing of a packet therein. A first service module receives the packet and a memory module stores a tracing extension header. The extension header comprises an identifier of a receiving service module and a tracing identifier associated with the packet. The extension is stored following reception of the packet by the first service module. Optionally, the receiving module may be the first service module that further receives the packet through a network interface module. The first service module may also generate the tracing identifier associated with the packet that uniquely identifies the tracing in the receiving module. The router may comprise a second service module and a second memory module associated thereto. The first service module may further append the tracing extension header to the packet and forwards the packet to the second service module. The second memory module may then store the extension header thereupon.Type: GrantFiled: December 21, 2009Date of Patent: December 31, 2013Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (Publ)Inventors: Eric Dyke, Catherine Truchan, Andre Beliveau

Patent number: 8619646Abstract: Methods and arrangements are provided where signaling of the modulation type by means of rotation of the training sequence is provided. For each modulation type, a set of rotation angles is chosen. These sets have no element in common. New training sequences are generated by rotating one original training sequence. The rotation angle that minimizes the PAPR of the transmit signal can be chosen. At the receiver side, knowing the original training sequence, the receiver estimates blindly the rotation angle among the known possible rotation angles. The estimated rotation angle in the receiver maps to a unique modulation type.Type: GrantFiled: February 23, 2011Date of Patent: December 31, 2013Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Miguel M. Patent number: 8619777Abstract: A router is coupled to sources of multicast streams and to multicast consumer hosts through one or more network elements, for managing multicast streams sent to hosts through the one or more network elements using subscriber circuits. The interface between the router and the network elements includes, but is not limited to, a remote multicast replication interface. Reports are received from a host on a subscriber circuit. The subscriber circuit is coupled between the router and the host. The report indicates a request to receive a multicast stream that is associated with a group object. A reference counter associated with the group object is incremented and the requested multicast stream is added to a remote multicast replication circuit if the reference counter transitions from zero upon incrementing.Type: GrantFiled: November 22, 2011Date of Patent: December 31, 2013Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (Publ)Inventor: Kunal R. Shah

Patent number: 8620300Abstract: In a cellular radio system cell identities, in particular the E-UTRAN Physical Layer Cell Identities (PCIDs), are grouped in accordance with the area, in particular the Tracking Area, to which they belong to in a message transmitted from a radio base station to a mobile station. In one embodiment the grouped cell identity information is transmitted as a broadcast message. A multi RAT, e.g. GERAN/E-UTRAN, capable mobile station receiving such a broadcast message where the IDs are grouped together in tracking area groups is then enabled to determine the neighboring cells that belong to the same Area. As a result when cell reselection to an E-UTRAN cell is rejected due to that the Tracking Area is not allowed, the mobile station can then be allowed to directly initiate cell reselection to E-UTRAN cells that are not part of the same PCID group, and which thus do not belong to the same tracking area. This in turn results in that no waiting time is needed to initiate a cell reselection towards those cells.Type: GrantFiled: April 29, 2009Date of Patent: December 31, 2013Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Jens Bergqvist, Paul Schliwa-Bertling
