Publication number: 20120244858Abstract: Method and arrangement for supporting connectivity of a wireless device to a network infrastructure. An infrastructure provider associates a set of device identification numbers to a first radio access provider in a subscription database of the infrastructure provider. The infrastructure provider also sets the first radio access provider as a preferred roaming partner in a SIM that comprises a subscriber identifier with a network identifier of the infrastructure provider. The SIM is provided for use in the device, to enable access to the network infrastructure over a radio access network of the first radio access provider based on the subscriber identifier and the preferred roaming partner in the SIM.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 24, 2011Publication date: September 27, 2012Applicant: TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET L M ERICSSON (PUBL)Inventors: Robert SKOG, Bo ASTROM, Tomas HOLM, Lars-Orjan KLING

Patent number: 8275406Abstract: A method and apparatus in a base station for jointly controlling sub-channel transmission power and assigned codec modes for a first and second mobile station utilizing Voice services over Adaptive Multi-user channel on One Slot (VAMOS). The base station receives signal quality information reports from the mobile stations every 480 ms using the Slow Associated Control Channel (SACCH), and receives codec mode requests from the mobile stations every 40 ms using Adaptive Multi-Rate (AMR) in-band signaling. The base station associates the requested codec modes with estimated levels of speech quality currently being experienced by the first and second mobile stations. The base station then allocates sub-channel transmission power and assigns codec modes to the first and second mobile stations based on the estimated levels of speech quality associated with the requested codec modes and the signal quality reports.Type: GrantFiled: July 10, 2009Date of Patent: September 25, 2012Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (Publ)Inventor: Dayong Chen

Patent number: 8273115Abstract: An expandable prosthetic device and method of delivery that allows the initial placement of multiple guidewires into selected target sites. The prosthesis includes a main body device. This main body device has a separate side branch guidewire lumen that passes through the main body device and through a side opening in the main body device. As the main body device is advanced, the side opening is self guided (by the side branch guidewire) and self-aligns to the side branch vessel ostium. The main body device is then deployed, leaving the side branch guidewire in place. A side branch device is then advanced along the side branch guidewire through the main body device, through the side wall opening and into the native side branch vessel. The side branch device can then be deployed to engage the main body device and the native side branch vessel.Type: GrantFiled: April 24, 2007Date of Patent: September 25, 2012Assignee: W. L. Patent number: 8275073Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed herein for discriminating phase-shift-key (PSK) modulated signals from frequency-shift-key (FSK) modulated signals in received signal streams. First, a bit frequency analysis is applied to a digital signal stream representing the received signal stream. The bit frequency analysis computes bit frequencies for bit segments within the digital signal stream. These bit frequencies are then summed in an array to form a bit frequency histogram. Second, a bit phase analysis is applied to the digital signal stream. The bit phase analysis computes bit phases for bit segments within the digital signal stream. These bit phases are then summed in an array to form a bit phase histogram. Spikes within the bit frequency and bit phase histograms can be used to determine whether the received signal stream includes FSK or PSK signals. An enhanced bit phase analysis can also used, if needed.Type: GrantFiled: June 11, 2009Date of Patent: September 25, 2012Assignee: L—3 Communications Integrated Systems, L.P.Inventors: Stephen T. Patent number: 8272862Abstract: The article and corresponding method include a casting fixture for a part of a skin formulation applicator which is otherwise difficult to cast. The casting fixture includes a central cup section and two opposing tear-away sections. A rigid base portion of an applicator tip assembly is mounted into an upper rim of the cup section and liquid silicone material is poured into the volume defined in the cup section portion beneath the base portion. The silicone cures and bonds to extending elements from the base portion, providing a firm connection between the cast tip portion and the base portion. When the combined part is ready for use, the tear-away sections are removed by the user, which results in an easy ejection of the part, which can then be installed by the user in the formulation applicator.Type: GrantFiled: May 29, 2009Date of Patent: September 25, 2012Assignee: L'Oreal SAInventors: Kenneth A Pilcher, Richard A Reishus, Gregory W Herlin

Patent number: 8274428Abstract: A method for estimating a radar cross-section (RES) of a given object by using a diffraction model of this object. With the model, it is possible to determine a basis adapted to said object on which is projected a vector of measurement. With the projected vector, it is possible to obtain a more complete reconstructed vector than the measurement vector in terms of incident wave and diffracted wave observation directions/polarizations and the components of which have a better signal/noise ratio than the measurements. The reconstructed vector is then used for calculating the RCS.Type: GrantFiled: April 3, 2008Date of Patent: September 25, 2012Assignee: Commissariat a l'Energie AtomiqueInventors: Olivier Vacus, Sylvain Morvan

Patent number: 8274895Abstract: A plurality of flow network elements monitors network flows at the subscriber level for a plurality of subscribers. The flow network elements export flow records to a collector, which organizes the flow records. A policy client correlates the flow records and determines whether any network flows are violating a flow policy definition. If a flow policy definition is violated, the policy client transmits a policy action to a policy server which indicates what action to take for a given violating flow. The policy server assigns a flow policy for the subscriber corresponding with the violating flow. The assigned flow policy is then transmitted to the flow network element having that violating flow, and that flow network element installs the flow policy.Type: GrantFiled: January 26, 2009Date of Patent: September 25, 2012Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (Publ)Inventors: Shahriar I. Patent number: 8274995Abstract: Transmitted signals are modified to facilitate the emulation of circular convolution in non-contiguous transmission environments. These modified signals may be derived from well-known signature sequences. In an exemplary method, a tail portion of a final segment of a base signal is prefixed to an initial segment of the base signal, to form a first transmit segment. One or more additional transmit segments are formed by prefixing, to each of the one or more segments of the base signal other than the initial segment, a tail portion of the immediately preceding segment of the base signal. The transmit segments so formed are transmitted in respective ones of the plurality of non-contiguous transmit-time intervals. Corresponding methods for receiving the transmitted segments and reconstructing the base signal are also described, as are corresponding transmitting and receiving apparatuses.Type: GrantFiled: May 17, 2010Date of Patent: September 25, 2012Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (Publ)Inventors: Jiann-Ching Guey, Havish Koorapaty
