Abstract: A timing interface module with daughter timing reference modules. The timing modules are provided in a rack platform to eliminate routing problems and which is compliant with all relevant industry standards. The timing reference module includes a face plate having first and second substantially rectangular openings, the face plate further comprising mounting slots for receiving mounting hardware therein and first and second timing modules, the first and second timing modules disposed within the first and second substantially rectangular openings. The first and second timing modules provide timing terminations for timing reference signals for network elements of a synchronized optical network.

Abstract: Methods and systems for remotely monitoring trailer or trailers attached to a vehicle is provided. The method includes associating an identification tag or ABS ECU that is configured to broadcast a trailer identification signal with a trailer. The method further includes receiving the trailer identification signal on-board the vehicle, associating the trailer identification signal with the vehicle, transmitting the trailer identification signal to a remote processor and receiving the trailer identification signal at the remote processor. The system comprises a mobile data terminal capable of generating and responding to telematic events comprising at least one processor, a graphical user interface, an input device, a memory and a set of executable instructions which may include a plurality of modules, such as a vehicle location module capable of receiving a GPS signal and transmitting the GPS signal to a remote processor for determining a location of a transportation unit.

Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided for performing initial ranging at a receiver for establishing a time reference for a predefined received signature signal (30) for establishing a time reference overcoming round trip time between a receiver and a transmitter. There is performed (316, 3161) matched filtering in at least two matched sub-filters (M1, M2, M3, M4), each sub-filter having a matched filter sub-sequence (43—1, 2; 3, 4; 5,6; 7,8) corresponding to a fragment (39) of the basic sequence (33) of the predefined signature signal (30), wherein the fragments do not overlap one another with respect to the basic sequence, the matched filtering by each respective sub-filter providing peaks in dependence of the respective sub-sequence (43) correlating with a respective fragment of the received signature signal.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a watertight apparatus for an underwater motor, comprising a double oil jacket for preventing high-pressure water from entering the underwater motor along a rotary shaft of the underwater motor. According to the present invention, high-pressure water is prevented from entering the underwater motor along the rotary shaft of the underwater motor even in the case of mechanical devices which operate in deep water, thereby preventing failure in the operation of or damage to mechanical devices caused by the ingress of water. In addition, the oil jacket can be easily replaced, thereby enabling the effective performance of maintenance and repair of mechanical devices.

Abstract: A field effect device comprises a substrate of semiconductor on insulator type successively provided with a support substrate, an electrically insulating layer and a semiconductor material film. First and second source/drain electrodes are formed in the semiconductor material layer. A conduction channel is formed in the semiconductor material layer and separates the first and second source/drain electrodes. A counter-electrode is formed in the support substrate and faces the first and second source/drain electrodes and the conduction channel. The counter-electrode is formed by a doped area of the support substrate having a first doping impurity concentration which decreases from an interface between the electrically insulating layer and the support substrate.

Abstract: A method of sending protected data from a sender unit to a receiver unit via an intermediate unit. The intermediate unit stores information associated with a certificate belonging to the receiver unit, and information associated with a certificate belonging to the intermediate unit, which has previously been signed by the receiver unit. The intermediate unit receives a request from the sender unit to send protected data to the receiver unit, and so it sends a response to the sender unit. The response includes the information associated with the certificate belonging to the receiver unit, which allows the sender unit to verify that the intermediate unit is authorised to receive data on behalf of the receiver unit. The intermediate unit then receives data from the sender unit that is protected using the information associated with the certificate belonging to the receiver unit for subsequent forwarding to the receiver unit.

Abstract: This invention relates to a method for streaming a media file to an end user using a hypertext transfer protocol HTTP, wherein a proxy monitors HTTP messages for detecting a streaming of the media file using HTTP. When a HTTP message is received, the proxy determines bearer parameters required for streaming the media file and determines whether a bearer meeting an appropriate service quality is necessary. If necessary, the proxy triggers a provision of the bearer meeting with said appropriate service quality.

Abstract: It is presented a method for selecting an output stream for bits of a bit set. The method comprises the steps of: obtaining indicators of how much transmission power is allowed to be used; calculating a maximum number of bits that can be provided to each one of the two output streams; determining which one of the two output streams is to be a primary output stream and which one of the two output streams is to be the secondary output stream. The primary output stream is then filled first and any surplus is provided to the secondary output stream. A corresponding user equipment, computer program and computer program product are also presented.

Abstract: Method and system for processing a request associated with a user from a requesting node to an answering node in a telecommunications network. A repository is associated with the answering node, the repository including a data structure including a plurality of user profiles associated with a plurality of users. In the answering node a user profile of the plurality of user profiles is associated with the user.
