  • Publication number: 20120178413
Abstract: A technique for monitoring a call associated with a connection established via a Media Gateway node (MGW) is described. The Media Gateway node (MGW) is controlled by a Media Gateway Controller node (MGC). The Media Gateway node (MGW) and the Media Gateway Controller node (MGC) belong to a layered network (LN). A method implementation of this technique comprises the steps of detecting a loss of communication between the Media Gateway Controller node (MGC) and the Media Gateway node (MGW) and logging the loss of communication together with a time stamp of the detected communication loss to be used for determining a charging time of the call.

  • Publication number: 20120178453
Abstract: The invention proposes to introduce a method for a Radio Access Network for providing “Local Switching” between call legs of a call. Within said method the Radio Access Network receives a call identifier for a leg of a call from a Core Network to be handled by the Radio Access Network. The Radio Access Network stores said received call identifier, compares said received call identifier with stored call identifiers for call legs of calls via said Radio Access Network. If said received call identifier matches a stored call identifier the Radio Access Networks establish local switching of call legs identified by the matching call identifier. In an alternative embodiment, the invention proposes to introduce a method for a Core Network for providing local switching for call legs of a call. Within said method the Core Network receives or generates a call identifier for a leg of a call. The Core Network stores said received call identifier and identifies a respective Radio Access Network for said leg of said call.

  • Publication number: 20120175829
Abstract: A drop-in grid base for coil units is provided. A plurality of extruded plastic tubes, plastic-covered wire profiles, and cross wires are arranged in substantially the same plane to form a grid foundation. The cross wires intersect the extruded plastic tubes and wire profiles. Base wires having a series of shallow, v-shaped notches are interwoven in substantially the same plane as the grid foundation. The ends of the base wires are looped for attachment inside the seating cavity of a framed furniture product. A coil unit may be attached directly to the drop-in grid base. Alternatively, the drop-in grid base may be separately installed into a seating cavity frame, for later installation of a coil unit on top of the drop-in grid base.

  • Publication number: 20120179467
Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems, computer-implemented methods, and tangible computer-readable media for using alternate recognition hypotheses to improve whole-dialog understanding accuracy. The method includes receiving an utterance as part of a user dialog, generating an N-best list of recognition hypotheses for the user dialog turn, selecting an underlying user intention based on a belief distribution across the generated N-best list and at least one contextually similar N-best list, and responding to the user based on the selected underlying user intention. Selecting an intention can further be based on confidence scores associated with recognition hypotheses in the generated N-best lists, and also on the probability of a user's action given their underlying intention. A belief or cumulative confidence score can be assigned to each inferred user intention.

  • Publication number: 20120178358
Abstract: Techniques for detecting wireless devices that are signaling in high proximity to a convoy or other operation and preventing messages from reaching the wireless devices. One class of the techniques uses surgical jamming methodologies that minimize power consumption and collateral interference, while being maximally inconspicuous; another class uses baiting beacons to prevent the messages from reaching the wireless devices. Still another class of techniques denies wireless devices access to a wireless network. An exemplary embodiment applies the techniques to wireless devices and beacons in a GSM network.

  • Publication number: 20120176958
Abstract: Embodiments describe methods and nodes for configuring multiple links of a relay node in a communication system. Another node transmits a configuration signal toward the relay node including at least one bandwidth to be used to configure the multiple links of the relay. The at least one bandwidth can be the same for each of the multiple links or can be different for each of the multiple links. The multiple links can, for example, be the access link (i.e., the link via which user equipment communicates with the relay node over an air interface) and the backhaul link (i.e., the link via which the relay node communicates with the rest of the network, e.g., connected to a donor node).
