Abstract: Presented is a system and methods for allowing a user, through their end user device, to invoke and access on-demand and always-on time interval based multimedia priority services (MPS). The time interval can be specified by the user directly for the user's session or provided by a managing authority for a plurality of user sessions. The time interval can be specified as a period from user invocation forward or as a start time/date pair to an end time/date pair.

Abstract: Compounds, pharmaceutical compositions including the compounds, and methods of preparation and use thereof are disclosed. The compounds are hexafluoro-honokiol analogs. The compounds and compositions can be used to treat and/or prevent a wide variety of cancers, including drug resistant cancers. Representative hexafluoro-honokiol analogs include hexafluoro-honokiol, analogs in which one or both hydroxy groups are replaced with dichloroacetate esters, and analogs with increased fluorination. The compounds are believed to function, at least, by inhibiting angiogenesis and/or inducing apoptosis. Thus, the compounds are novel therapeutic agents for a variety of cancers.

Abstract: A method for routing message traffic over a communication network. In one example, the method comprises receiving, at a first server, a request from a subscriber terminal and transmitting, from the first server to a subscriber location function of the network, a message requesting routing information to a user database serving the subscriber terminal. A response message is transmitted from the subscriber location function of the network to the first server, the response message including routing information for a second server instead of the user database, wherein the response message is transmitted in a format indicating to the first server that communication with the user database has occurred when it has not. The first server receives the response message transmitted by the subscriber location function and transmits the request from the subscriber terminal to the second server.

The interconnect may be an optical interconnect by which a single wavelength from one blade defines one of the plurality of channels and wherein each blade supports a plurality of wavelengths. The at least two different blades may comprise each blade of the router, except the first blade. Each of the plurality of channels may also be a dedicated channel between two of the blades.
Abstract: A magnetic element for writing by thermally assisted magnetic field or thermally assisted spin transfer comprises a stack consisting of a free magnetic layer, also called storage layer or switchable magnetization layer, of which the magnetization direction is switchable between two nonwrite stable states, both directed out-of-plane and substantially perpendicular to the plane of said layer, and of which the magnetization is spontaneously reoriented from substantially perpendicular to the plane to substantially in the plane under the effect of the rise in temperature during the writing, at least one reference magnetic layer, called pinned layer, of which the magnetization is oriented substantially perpendicular to the plane of said layer, a nonmagnetic spacer inserted between the two layers and means for making an electric current flow perpendicular to the plane of said layers.

Abstract: An elongate container includes a cylindrical chamber having an opening at one end of the container. A collar is affixed to the elongate container, and a threaded rod is axially disposed within the cylindrical chamber and coupled to the collar. The collar is adapted to rotate the threaded rod relative to the elongate container. A piston is disposed within the cylindrical chamber and is threadingly engaged with the threaded rod. The piston includes a sealing ring adapted to circumferentially seal against an inner wall of the cylindrical chamber and at least two axially aligned ribs. The ribs are disposed on a side of the piston and seated against the inner wall of the cylindrical chamber. With this arrangement, rotation of the threaded rod causes translation of the piston in the axial direction.
Abstract: The present invention concerns a method for preparing an organic copolymer film on electrically conductive or semi-conductive surfaces in two steps. The first step includes electrolysis of an electrolytic solution containing an adhesion primer, in contact with a surface. The second step corresponds to the reaction, at the surface obtained previously, of a solution containing the following species: a protic solvent, and a “radically polymerizable” monomer. The polymerizable monomer is solubilized in micellar form. The surfaces obtained with the use of this method, and their applications apply to preparation of microelectronic components, biomedical devices or screening kits, as well as kits for preparing an organic copolymer film on an electrically conductive or semi-conductive surface.

Abstract: Method of treating sodium contained in the interconnected open pores of a structure placed in a cladding, the pores furthermore containing a radioactive substance. The method comprises the following successive steps: a) at least two slits are made over the entire length of the cladding; b) the sodium is converted to sodium carbonate by a carbonation reaction by bringing the structure into contact, via the slits, with a reactive gas mixture comprising steam, carbon dioxide and a gas inert with respect to sodium, in such a way that the expansion of the carbonate causes the cladding and the structure to open starting from the slits and results in the carbonation reaction propagating into the structure.

Abstract: A UE in a wireless communication network transmits succinct, direct channel state information to the network, enabling coordinated multipoint calculations such as joint processing, without substantially increasing uplink overhead. The UE receives and processes reference symbols over a set of non-uniformly spaced sub-carriers, selected according to a scheme synchronized to the network. The frequency response for each selected sub-carrier is estimated conventionally, and the results quantized and transmitted to the network on an uplink control channel. The non-uniform sub-carrier selection may be synchronized to the network in a variety of ways.
