    Abstract: The invention relates to a technique for mobile assisted handover in mobile communications networks, e.g. Long Term Evolution (LTE) networks, in a situation of an ongoing data reception or data transmission of a mobile terminal which hinders reception of system information from a candidate cell for handover. A method embodiment of such technique is performed in a mobile terminal and comprises the steps of accepting information related to an ongoing data reception/transmission from at least one data reception/transmission component of the mobile terminal; establishing if the ongoing data reception/transmission enables a reception of a unique cell identifier indicating a candidate cell for handover; selectively halting the ongoing data reception/transmission, receiving the unique cell identifier of the candidate cell, and resuming afterwards the data reception/transmission.

    Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for generating a delivery schedule for distributing commodity products to a group of customers grouped by clusters. For example, a distributor/producer of refined gasses distributed via cylinders may create a proposed delivery schedule limiting the days at which product is delivered to different customers. A delivery planning application may include a clustering module a set of input data to generate a set of clusters representing groups of customers, e.g., using a Greedy Algorithm optimized using a Tabu search. Once the clusters are generated, a planning module may be used to affect trucks (or other delivery vehicles) to clusters. A truck affected to a given cluster by the delivery planning application is then scheduled to deliver cylinders to that cluster. The delivery schedule may provide a reusable two-week plan for servicing a group of customers in a supply chain network.

From the channel estimates and the second covariance estimate a Signal-to-Interference Ratio for each second group is estimated.

    Abstract: A receiver and method for receiving and processing a sequence of transmitted symbols in a digital communication system utilizing soft pilot symbols. A set of soft pilot symbols are transmitted with higher reliability than the remaining symbols in the sequence by modulating the soft pilot symbols with a lower order modulation such as BPSK or QPSK while modulating the remaining symbols with a higher order modulation such as 16QAM or 64QAM. The receiver knows the modulation type and location (time/frequency/code) of the soft pilot symbols, and demodulates them first. The receiver uses the demodulated soft pilot symbols as known symbols to estimate parameters of the received radio signal. Unlike traditional fixed pilots, the soft pilots still carry some data. Additionally, the soft pilots are particularly helpful in establishing the amplitude reference essential in demodulating the higher order modulation symbols.

In some example implementations, the free, non-adjacent spreading code is allocated so that more than one high speed channel user can use the spreading codes. In other example implementations, the free, non-adjacent spreading code is allocated so that one user uses the spreading codes by using more than one HS-SCCH channel. Preferably the non-adjacent spreading code is released from the HS-DSCH channel when the non-adjacent spreading code is needed for use by a DCH channel.
