Publication number: 20120084385Abstract: There is described a method and apparatus for sending data through one or more packet data networks. A reduced size packet is sent from a packet sending node towards a cache node, the reduced size packet including in its payload a pointer to a payload data segment stored in a file at the cache node. When the reduced size packet is received at the cache node, the pointer is used to identify the payload data segment from data stored at the cache node. The payload data segment is inserted into the reduced size packet in place of the pointer so as to generate a full size packet, which is sent from the cache node towards a client.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 17, 2009Publication date: April 5, 2012Applicant: TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET L M ERICSSON (PUBL)Inventors: Ayodele Damola, Stefan Hellkvist, Lars Westberg

Publication number: 20120084223Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for generating a delivery schedule for distributing commodity products to a group of customers grouped by clusters. For example, a distributor/producer of refined gasses distributed via cylinders may create a proposed delivery schedule limiting the days at which product is delivered to different customers. A delivery planning application may include a clustering module a set of input data to generate a set of clusters representing groups of customers, e.g., using a Greedy Algorithm optimized using a Tabu search. Once the clusters are generated, a planning module may be used to affect trucks (or other delivery vehicles) to clusters. A truck affected to a given cluster by the delivery planning application is then scheduled to deliver cylinders to that cluster. The delivery schedule may provide a reusable two-week plan for servicing a group of customers in a supply chain network.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 28, 2010Publication date: April 5, 2012Applicant: L'Air Liquide Societe Anonyme Pour L'Etude Et L'Exploitation Des Procedes Georges ClaudeInventors: Philippe Briet, Franck Mornet, Jeremy Omer

Patent number: 8149968Abstract: A Signal-to-Interference Ratio of a radio channel is estimated in a receiver of a wireless communications system, wherein pilots with reference information are modulated on some sub-carriers in some symbols. At least one parameter for signals received from said first transmitter is detected, and a number (Nf, Nt) of pilots in first groups that can be coherently combined in a second group is determined, and from these a channel estimate (H) for each first group and a first covariance estimate (R) for each second group are determined. A number (M) of first covariance estimates that can be averaged is defined in dependence of the presence of signals from possible interfering transmitters, and a second covariance estimate is determined as an average of said number of first covariance estimates. From the channel estimates and the second covariance estimate a Signal-to-Interference Ratio for each second group is estimated.Type: GrantFiled: August 19, 2008Date of Patent: April 3, 2012Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (publ)Inventor: Bengt Lindoff

Patent number: 8149894Abstract: Ultra-wideband frequency hopping spread spectrum (UWB-FHSS) solutions are used for transceiver architectures. These UWB-FHSS transceiver architectures can transmit and accurately digitize frequency hops over an extremely wide bandwidth while using a relatively slow analog-to-digital converter (ADC) without suffering from unacceptable performance degradation. For example, ADCs can be used having sample rates lower than standard Nyquist criteria would require for the bandwidth of the spread spectrum utilized.Type: GrantFiled: October 28, 2008Date of Patent: April 3, 2012Assignee: L-3 Communications Integrated Systems L.P.Inventor: Gerald L. Patent number: 8149929Abstract: A receiver and method for receiving and processing a sequence of transmitted symbols in a digital communication system utilizing soft pilot symbols. A set of soft pilot symbols are transmitted with higher reliability than the remaining symbols in the sequence by modulating the soft pilot symbols with a lower order modulation such as BPSK or QPSK while modulating the remaining symbols with a higher order modulation such as 16QAM or 64QAM. The receiver knows the modulation type and location (time/frequency/code) of the soft pilot symbols, and demodulates them first. The receiver uses the demodulated soft pilot symbols as known symbols to estimate parameters of the received radio signal. Unlike traditional fixed pilots, the soft pilots still carry some data. Additionally, the soft pilots are particularly helpful in establishing the amplitude reference essential in demodulating the higher order modulation symbols.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 2008Date of Patent: April 3, 2012Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (PUBL)Inventors: Douglas Cairns, Elias Jonsson

Patent number: 8149792Abstract: In a radio access network (10) comprising a radio network controller node (26) and a base station node (28), a code tree has spreading codes which are allocatable between high speed downlink shared (HS-DSCH) channels and dedicated (DCH) channels. According to one aspect of the technology, use of the spreading codes of the code tree is monitored and an HS-DSCH channel is allocated a free spreading code which is non-adjacent to a spreading code already allocated to the HS-DSCH channels. In some example implementations, the free, non-adjacent spreading code is allocated so that more than one high speed channel user can use the spreading codes. In other example implementations, the free, non-adjacent spreading code is allocated so that one user uses the spreading codes by using more than one HS-SCCH channel. Preferably the non-adjacent spreading code is released from the HS-DSCH channel when the non-adjacent spreading code is needed for use by a DCH channel.Type: GrantFiled: November 15, 2006Date of Patent: April 3, 2012Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Rong Hu, Jinhua Liu, Eva Englund

Patent number: 8150368Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for providing a usage monitoring telephony service. A service-providing network, which has the capability of monitoring attributes, including duration, for calls that traverse it, provides usage-monitoring services for calls directed to a telephony device on a native transport network. The native transport network is a network that naturally carries a subscriber's calls but does not have the capabilities required to provide usage monitoring. The system uses a virtual number to map a service in the service-provider network with a device in the native transport network. The usage monitoring services capture usage-monitoring data for multiple telephone numbers in multiple native transport networks.Type: GrantFiled: November 20, 2003Date of Patent: April 3, 2012Assignee: AT&T Intellectual Property I, L.
