Abstract: Image data file systems and methods are operable to generate image data files for a plurality of images having a common image data array, and are operable to generate images from the image data files. An exemplary embodiment stores a common image data array into a master image data file, wherein the stored common image data array corresponds to an image data array of a first image of the plurality of images; and generates a soft link image data file based upon a second image of the plurality of images, wherein an image data array of the second image is the same as the common image data array, and wherein a soft link in the soft link image data file identifies a location of the stored common image data array.
Abstract: A navigation device automatically determines a travel mode based on at least one non-user input and configures itself based on the travel mode. The device generates one or more directions or navigation routes based on routing information, a user location, a destination, and the travel mode. The device then displays the one or more directions for the user. The automatic determination may be based on a travel speed, connection to an external power source, connection to an external power source and a travel speed, and/or receipt of one or more signals from a transmitter coupled to a vehicle. The user may be able to override configuration of the device based on the travel mode. The system may be implemented as an integrated device or may be implemented as a server computing device connected to a client computing device.

Abstract: A volumetric image of a space is acquired from an imaging system. The space includes an object of interest and another object, and the volumetric image includes data representing the object of interest and the other object. A two-dimensional radiograph of the space is acquired from the imaging system. The two-dimensional radiograph of the space includes data representing the object of interest and the other object. The two-dimensional radiograph and the volumetric image are compared at the imaging system. A two-dimensional image is generated based on the comparison. The generated two-dimensional image includes the object of interest and excludes the other object.

Abstract: A method for rendering a three dimensional scene on a displaying screen comprises: generating for a tile of a current scene a hierarchical z-buffer which comprises a plurality of levels organized according to depth values; calculating a minimum depth value d of a submitted primitive; calculating an intersection area associated with said primitive with respect to said tile; providing a multiplicity of aligned regions each associated with a level of the hierarchical z-buffer so that the exact area calculated is suitable to be covered, at least entirely, by the union of such aligned regions; comparing the minimum depth value d of the submitted primitive with corresponding maximum depth values v1, v2, . . . , vN each read from the levels of the hierarchical z-buffer; discarding said primitive whether the minimum depth value d is bigger than all maximum depth values v1, v2, . . . , vN.
Abstract: A method for installing peripheral software drivers including storing a first identifier for a peripheral device meant for compatible operation with an information handling system (IHS) in the non-volatile memory of the basic input/output system (BIOS) of the IHS, matching the peripheral device represented by the first identifier with compatible driver releases represented by a second identifier, sorting the compatible driver releases by priority and installing a highest priority driver release on the IHS.
Abstract: Systems and methods for integrating instant messaging (IM) services and email services are described. In one embodiment, email messages and IM chat session transcripts are threaded to each other so that an email thread history may be traced back to an IM chat session transcript and, conversely, an IM thread history may be traced back to an email message.
Abstract: An embodiment of a process for manufacturing a power semiconductor device envisages the steps of: providing a body of semiconductor material having a top surface and having a first conductivity; forming columnar regions having a second type of conductivity within the body of semiconductor material, and surface extensions of the columnar regions above the top surface; and forming doped regions having the second type of conductivity, in the proximity of the top surface and in contact with the columnar regions. The doped regions are formed at least partially within the surface extensions of the columnar regions; the surface extensions and the doped regions have a non-planar surface pattern, in particular with a substantially V-shaped groove.

Abstract: The present invention generally relates to an apparatus and a method used to upholster a box-spring frame. A textile tape with a portion encapsulating a draw cord is sewn to the inner perimeter of a border material. The other edge of the border material is sewn to a top cover material. The box-spring frame is placed within this assembly, with the top side of the frame abutting the top cover. This assembly is placed in the attachment apparatus. The attachment apparatus optionally compresses the box-spring frame and is equipped with a pair of tension applicators. Once in place, each of the two draw cord ends are secured to a corresponding tension applicator, and tension is applied to the draw cord. This tension tightens the border assembly edge around the frame. With the proper tension applied, the draw cord is secured to the box-spring frame. The bottom cover is then attached in the conventional manner with a series of staples.

Abstract: An adaptive wakeup methodology may be implemented to allow an radio frequency identification (RFID) tag to stay synchronized with periodic radio frequency (RF) interrogator polling signal while at the same time optimizing power consumption. A receiver (or transceiver) component of a RFID tag may only be operated when an interrogator polling signal is expected, and in a manner that reduces the amount of time between when the receiver or transceiver is turned on and when the interrogator polling signal is received (i.e., the receive buffer time). At other times, the RFID tag may be placed in a low power consumption sleep state. The amount of time that the RFID tag spends in such a low power sleep state before waking and receiving the following interrogator polling signal may also be optionally adjusted, e.g., to fit characteristics of a given situation and/or to re-synchronize a given aRFID tag with first band transmissions from an aRFIDI.

Abstract: A method for identifying a client application installed on a mobile communications device. The method includes monitoring mobile network traffic associated with the web-enabled application. A service profile is developed corresponding to the client application, where the service profile includes information about the client application. A client identity is associated with the service profile. An access request, generated by the mobile communications device, is received from a mobile access gateway (MAG), where the access request includes a request to access application content from a content provider. A determination is made whether the access request includes information reflected in the service profile. In response to determining that the access request includes information reflected in the service profile, the client identity is provided to the MAG.

Abstract: The high-pressure output (2) of a donor container is coupled to a user system (11) by means of a main transfer tube (4) through a pilot valve (5) controllable by an auxiliary line (6) which is connected (12) to an auxiliary circuit of the system (11), extends along the main tube (15) and is fixed thereto by the reduced length thereof at several distinct points (Si). In such a way, the rupture or inflammable leakage of the tube (4) generates the tearing off or meting of the auxiliary line (6) in such a way that the output valve (5) is immediately closed. Said invention is particularly suitable for an inflammable gas supply to stationary plants.
