  • Patent number: 10310139
Abstract: A system and method inserts fracture networks into an existing Earth Model that exists as a structured grid and physical property values. The fracture network is in the form of a surface mesh (manifold or non-manifold) in a three-dimensional (“3D”) space. The structured grid of the Earth Model is then anisotropically refined to resolve the fractures and to provide appropriate cell grading in the near-fracture region. The generated Earth Model may be utilized in a variety of applications, including for example, a reservoir simulation.

  • Patent number: 10287856
Abstract: A computer implemented method, system, and computer program product are provided for determining flow control device (FCD) properties for a gas injection well that would yield a prescribed shape of a gas injection front according to a target gas injection profile. An FCD distribution function is adjusted based on the results of a simulation of injected gas flow distribution in the gas injection well over a period of time. The simulation and resulting adjustment of the FCD distribution function is repeated until a convergence between a shape of a displaced oil volume front obtained using the adjusted flow control device distribution function and a target gas injection profile is reached within a predetermined convergence range. The FCD properties are then determined based on the adjusted FCD distribution function.

  • Patent number: 10282382
Abstract: A plurality of input data to be used to compute a first output is received. The first output is computed. It is determined that the computed first output is outside a pre-determined first-output limit. A plurality of hyperlinks is displayed on a display device. Each hyperlink provides a link to a process for making adjustments to the plurality of input data to bring the first output within the pre-determined first-output limit. Selection of one of the plurality of hyperlinks (the “selected hyperlink”) is detected. A process associated with the selected hyperlink is followed to produce an adjustment to the plurality of input data to bring the first output within the first pre-determined first-output limit. The adjusted plurality of input data is used to plan implementation of a system. The sequence of selection of hyperlinks is tracked in order to reinforce the prioritization and order of future suggestions. The system is implemented.

  • Patent number: 10233736
Abstract: System and methods of simulating fluid production in a multi-reservoir system with a common surface network are provided. Black oil data is matched with an equation of state (EOS) model representing different fluid components of each reservoir in the multi-reservoir system. The black oil data is converted into a two-component black oil model for each reservoir, based on the EOS model. Fluid production in the multi-reservoir system is simulated for at least one simulation point in the common surface network, based in part on the two-component black oil model of each reservoir. When fluids produced at the simulation point are determined to be from different reservoirs, properties of the fluids are calculated based on weaved EOS models of the different reservoirs. Otherwise, properties of the fluids are calculated using the two-component black oil model for the reservoir from which the fluids are produced.
