Abstract: A gravity sensor has a photo interrupter and a gravity wheel. The photo interrupter has a housing, a cavity in the housing, a light emitter on one side of the housing and a light detector on the other side of the housing. The gravity wheel points in a direction of gravity and has a pivot at center thereof and pivotally arranged on the housing, a plumb at one edge of the gravity wheel and a plurality of through holes annularly arranged in the gravity wheel. The gravity wheel has a portion present in the cavity. An inclined angle of a test object is determined by calculating relative movement between the photo interrupter and the gravity wheel.
Abstract: A system for receiving a signal is provided. The system includes an antenna, an amplifier, a transmission medium electrically connected between the antenna and the amplifier and an electrostatic discharge device electrically connected between the transmission line and the antenna.
Abstract: An AC power supply testing method upon booting a main board is provided. The testing method is applied to a main board, a microprocessor is in connection with the main board, and a relay is connected with the microprocessor, an AC power supply and a system power supply of the main board. The testing method includes steps of (1 ) configuring a system power on/off time of the microprocessor; (2 ) counting down the system power on/off time; (3 ) determining the current state of the relay; (4 ) shutting off the relay and resuming executing step (1) if the current state is ON; and (5 ) executing a power supply testing upon booting if the current state is OFF.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for the personal security are provided. The method includes steps of (a) providing a portable personal security apparatus comprising a positioning system and an output displaying device for optionally executing a new message prompting function; (b) providing a specific message to the portable personal security apparatus; (c) identifying the specific message; (d) shutting off the new message prompting function of the portable personal security apparatus; (e) initiating the positioning system to obtain a positioning information of the portable personal security apparatus; and (f) transmitting the positioning information.
Abstract: A positioning mechanism for reflectors in a scanner is capable of tool-less assembling and precise positioning. The mechanism mainly includes a carrier, some angular positioning members, and resilient arms. The carrier is a plate-like member for mounting an optical assembly. The angular positioning members are mounted on the carrier and formed with cutoffs of supporting surfaces. The resilient arms extend from the carrier to outer sides of the supporting surfaces of the angular positioning members. The clearance of the end of resilient arm to the supporting surface is less than the thickness of the reflector to position the reflector simply, easily and precisely.
Abstract: A coupling structure for a handheld electronic device and a back cartridge thereof includes a first coupling assembly and a second coupling assembly. The first coupling assembly is located on the handheld electronic device. The second coupling assembly is located on the back cartridge corresponding to the first coupling assembly, and has a coupled position and a stored position. At the coupled position the second coupling assembly is extended outside the back cartridge to couple with the first coupling assembly, to thereby enable the handheld electronic device to couple with the back cartridge. At the stored position, the second coupling assembly is held in the back cartridge to allow the handheld electronic device to be separated from the back cartridge. Hence, the handheld electronic device and the back cartridge can maintain an integrated and self-contained profile.
Abstract: A display and a method of coupling at least one circuit board to a panel of the display. The display comprises a frame mounted on the display panel. The frame comprises a first body and a second body perpendicularly connected to the first body. The circuit board is coupled to the first body via the second body is not covered by the frame. At least one shield element is coupled to the frame to cover the circuit board.
Abstract: A fingerprint identification apparatus comprises a contact image sensor (CIS) module, a keyswitch and a restoring unit. The keyswitch has a transparent plate for finger-tactility. The user put his finger on the transparent plate to move the transparent plate such that the keyswitch has relative movement with respect to the CIS module and the CIS module scans the fingerprint of user for fingerprint identification. The restoring unit is arranged on the keyswitch and provides restoring force to the keyswitch.
Abstract: A DC to DC converter including a zigzag transformer. The transformer operates at high frequency with integrated magnetics and does not provide isolation. The multiphase converter has gate inputs with PWM signals appropriately phase-shifted depending on the number of phases to make balanced phase voltages across the transformer windings. The switching frequency of the converter is relatively low but fast transient response can be achieved by adding an integrated zigzag transformer.
Abstract: A focusing module for scanners includes a body which holds a lens and a transmission device on one side thereof to move the lens linearly and adjust a desired scanning focal length. Therefore the diaphragm may be enlarged to increase the scanning speed without reducing the depth of field and dropping Modulation Transfer Function, and to achieve a faster scanning speed and a desired scanning quality.
Abstract: A wireless transmission module comprises: a first transceiver used to broadcast and to receive signals in a first frequency band; a second transceiver used to broadcast and to receive signals in a second frequency band; a switching circuit used to provide a single path of transmission and to control the its switches between the first transceiver and the second transceiver; and a processing unit used to control the switching circuit to switch the path of transmission from the first transceiver to the second transceiver when using the first frequency band of signal to communicate with a wireless device is not possible.
Abstract: A power LED package module includes a frame, a chip heat-conductive support, a light-emitting chip and a package body. The frame has a conductive pin, and a support separated from the conductive pin and connecting to the chip heat-conductive support. The light-emitting chip is arranged on the chip heat-conducting support and electrically connected to the conductive pin. The frame, the chip heat-conducting support and the light-emitting chip are packaged via the package body. The chip heat-conducting support is partially exposed out of the package body for connecting to a heat-dissipating element for increasing the efficiency of heat dissipation of the power LED package module. The power LED package module thus provides electrical conduction and heat conduction in a split manner.
Abstract: A system and method for producing a character are provided. A remote control device having a plurality of numeral keys and capable of inputting a plurality of values is used to issue a command representing one of the plurality of values and composed of a combination of the plurality of numeral keys to an interactive equipment. In the interactive equipment, a reference table is provided to provide a relationship between the plurality of values and a plurality of characters each corresponding to one thereof. By referring to the reference table, the value corresponding to the command can be converted to a corresponding character among the plurality of characters. Finally, the character can be displayed and thus produced on the interactive equipment.
Abstract: A system and method for coding identification in a wireless transmit and receive protocol for single-frequency peripheral devices. A wireless system, consisting of a first data transmitting unit, a second data transmitting unit, and a data receiving unit, is able to send a packet twice using an Amplitude-Shift Keying (ASK) Modulation technique, repeated sending, and a single frequency, during one packet transmission. In order to lower the cost of the wireless module, the length of a packet transmission period is to be four times the sum of the time required to send two separate packets, thus allowing simultaneous control of two data transmitting units, and recognition of two different packets using a single data receiving unit.
Abstract: A PCI card-securing mechanism includes an external housing and a securing component. The external housing has a frame and a receiving plate extending upwardly from the frame. The frame forms with a plurality of slit ports for exposing the PCI card. The receiving plate has a pair of guiding grooves parallel to the slit ports and a pair of assembling slots formed on a top edge thereof. The securing component has a main portion forming a pair of setting bridges, a pair of pulling parts extending outwardly from a top edge of the main portion and a pressing plate bent from a bottom edge of the main portion. The pair of setting bridges are slidably assembled in the pair of guiding grooves, respectively. The pulling parts are disposed in the assembling slots, respectively. The pressing plate presses an edge of the frame to fix the PCI card.
Abstract: A printed circuit board for avoiding producing burrs, the printed circuit board includes a packaging substrate, at least one plated through hole, at least one first conductive portion, at least one non-conductive portion, at least one second conductive portion and at least one cut section. The plated through hole is formed on the packaging substrate. The first conductive portion and the second conductive portion respectively are adjacent to two sides of a peripheral of the plated through hole and separated by the non-conductive portion. Furthermore, the cut section is arranged on the non-conductive portion, thus the packaging substrate is cut without passing through the first conductive portion, and it will not cause the burrs on the first conductive portion.
Abstract: A printer with replaceable modules has a printer and an electronic expansion device. The printer has an operating panel mounted on a top thereof, a connecting mechanism formed on a bottom thereof, and at least one connector mounted on the bottom thereof. The electronic expansion device has a mating connecting mechanism removably assembled on the bottom of the printer, and a mating connector connecting with the connector on the bottom of the printer. The printer has an identification interface electrically connecting with the connector for identifying the electronic expansion device. The electronic expansion device can be a scanner, an entertainment device, a data-access device, or a battery.
