  • Patent number: 10977708
Abstract: A system provides consumers more product information to make informed buying decisions as well as recommendations, promotional messages, or couponing associated with a selected or related product. When used in a retail environment, radio or visual tagging of the products, displays, or retail shelf allows a mobile or other computing device to read a unique identifier and use it to retrieve the product information from a remote server. An extended clarity score may combine objective data and/or qualitative, subjective data with information about whether certain data has been provided. In some embodiments, structured identifiers indicate particular sources, product lines, production batches, marketing channels, retail destinations, and the like. In others, the information is retrieved as a function of one or a combination of products that the consumer has considered during a single in-store shopping trip.

  • Patent number: 10979754
Abstract: Embodiments utilize viewership data collected via a set top box (STB) at individual households (HHs) to enable a network operator to recommend ad spots to customers based on a percentage of HHs that are likely to view the ad spots (e.g., the % of HHs reached by the ad spots), and/or based on the average number of times (e.g., average frequency) that the reached HHs are likely to view the ad spot. Embodiments compile the available network/daypart ad spots per broadcast week, and determine a number of ad spots for each network/daypart that satisfy a reached threshold of HHs, and/or satisfies the minimum frequency threshold.

  • Patent number: 10979048
Abstract: Circuits and methods for switching between an internal clock and an external clock without causing an interruption or an artifact in the switched clock signal are disclosed. To achieve this, the internal clock signal is synchronized with the external clock signal prior to switching. The synchronization may be accomplished using two possible clock-synchronization methods: a first method that passively waits for the clocks to synchronize over time and a second that adjusts a period of the internal clock signal to actively synchronize the clocks. The method selected for use requires the fewest clock cycles to reach synchronization, which is determined by a frequency difference between the two clock frequencies. After clock-synchronization, the output clock signal spectrum will be substantially the same before and after switching between the clock signals, and therefore is suitable for use with spread spectrum clocks.

  • Patent number: 10978632
Abstract: A method of fabricating a device, wherein the device comprises a plurality of lengths of material and at least one junction joining two or more of the lengths of material. In a masking phase, a mask is formed on an underlying layer of the device. The mask comprises a plurality of trenches exposing the underlying layer, each trench corresponding to one of the lengths of material. A respective section of two or more of the trenches either (a) narrow down, or (b) are separated by a discontinuity, at a position corresponding to the at least one junction. In a selective area growth phase, material is grown in the set of trenches to form the lengths of material on the underlying layer. The two or more lengths of material are joined at the at least one junction.

  • Patent number: 10973688
Abstract: An ophthalmic laser surgical system uses a confocal detector assembly to continuously detect a confocal signal during laser treatment, and based on the confocal signal, detects in real time a loss of tissue contact with the patient interface (PI) output surface. The detection is partly based on the change of reflectivity at the PI output surface when the optical interface changes from a lens-tissue interface to a lens-air interface. The behavior of the confocal signal upon loss of tissue contact is dependent on the treatment laser scan pattern being performed at the time of tissue contact loss. Thus, different confocal signal analysis algorithms are applied to detect tissue contact loss during different scans, such as the bed cut and side cut for a corneal flap. The real time confocal signal may also be used during eye docking to detect the establishment of tissue contact with the PI output surface.
