    Abstract: The disclosure provides a method for fabricating a metallic optical metasurface having an array of hologram elements. The method includes forming a first copper layer protected with a conducting or dielectric barrier layer over a backplane structure by a damascene process. The first copper layer comprises a plurality of nano-gaps vertically extending from the backplane structure. The plurality of nano-gaps is filled with a dielectric material. The method also includes removing the dielectric material and a portion of the conducting or dielectric barrier layer to expose the portions in the nano-gaps of the first copper layer. The method may further include depositing a dielectric coating layer over the top portion and exposed side portions of the first copper layer to form a protected first copper layer, and filling the gaps with an electrically-tunable dielectric material that has an electrically-tunable refractive index.

A method includes providing the cell stack, inserting the cell tabs into the pair of through-slots of the isolative shield, positioning a primary surface of the isolative shield adjacent to the outer surfaces of the adjacent battery cells after inserting the cell tabs, and affixing the primary surface of the isolative shield to the cell stack.

    Abstract: A technique for managing data received into a cache operates in cycles. To process a current batch of compressed blocks during a current cache processing cycle, a storage system obtains a new mapping structure and a new segment of contiguous storage space. If the system can place some of the current batch of compressed blocks into previously-allocated space, the system does so and partially populates the new mapping structure with entries for mapping the other compressed blocks that were not placed. The system then asserts a hold on the new mapping structure, so that the mapping structure is retained in cache at the end of the current cache processing cycle, and more completely populates the new mapping structure with entries for other compressed blocks during a later cache processing cycle before releasing the hold.

The method also includes moving a retaining pin from an open position to a closed position to capture the tissue and moving the cartridge toward the anvil in a closed configuration. Furthermore, the method includes inhibiting deflection of a distal end portion of the end effector wherein at least at least one of the guide pin or the retaining pin connects to the distal end portion. The method further includes forming a plurality of staples within the tissue and cutting the tissue with a knife.

    Abstract: A system and method are provided for performing transmission control protocol segmentation on a server on a chip using coprocessors on the server chip. A system processor manages the TCP/IP stack and prepares a large (64 KB) single chunk of data to be sent out via a network interface on the server on a chip. The system software processes this and calls the interface device driver to send the packet out. The device driver, instead of sending the packet out directly on the interface, calls a coprocessor interface and delivers some metadata about the chunk of data to the interface. The coprocessor segments the chunk of data into a maximum transmission unit size associated with the network interface and increments a sequential number field in the header information of each packet before sending the segments to the network interface.
