Abstract: Systems and methods for blocking, adding, and/or modifying video content in a video conference session are disclosed. A video conferencing session is established between a first device and a second device. Video conferencing session data that is received from the first device comprises only audio information. Video conferencing session data that is received from the second device comprises both audio and video information. Video content is added to the video conferencing session data from the first device before sending the video conferencing session data to the second device. The added video content is not captured from the first device.

Abstract: Described herein are systems and methods for jointly learning geometry and motion with three-dimensional holistic understanding. In embodiments, such approaches enforce the inherent geometrical consistency during the learning process, yielding improved results for both tasks. In embodiments, three parallel networks are adopted to predict the camera motion (e.g., MotionNet), dense depth map (e.g., DepthNet), and per-pixel optical flow between consecutive frames (e.g., FlowNet), respectively. The information of 2D flow, camera pose, and depth maps, are fed into a holistic 3D motion parser (HMP) to disentangle and recover per-pixel 3D motion of both rigid background and moving objects. Various loss terms are formulated to jointly supervise the three networks. Embodiments of an efficient iterative training strategy are disclosed for better performance and more efficient convergence.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for suggesting actions for selected text based on content displayed on a mobile device. An example method can include converting a selection made via a display device into a query, providing the query to an action suggestion model that is trained to predict an action given a query, each action being associated with a mobile application, receiving one or more predicted actions, and initiating display of the one or more predicted actions on the display device. Another example method can include identifying, from search records, queries where a website is highly ranked, the website being one of a plurality of websites in a mapping of websites to mobile applications. The method can also include generating positive training examples for an action suggestion model from the identified queries, and training the action suggestion model using the positive training examples.

Abstract: Plant metabolism and alkaloid levels can be regulated by transcription factors that regulate the nicotinic alkaloid biosynthetic pathway. In one embodiment, the disclosure provides a transcription factor that positively negatively regulates alkaloid biosynthesis, such as nicotine biosynthesis. In particular, the present disclosure provides methods for the inhibition of Nicotiana benthamiana auxin response factor 1 (NbTF1) to reduce alkaloid biosynthesis in plants.

Abstract: Various technologies pertaining to allocating computing resources of a neuromorphic computing system are described herein. Subgraphs of a neural algorithm graph to be executed by the neuromorphic computing system are identified. The subgraphs are each executed by a group of neuron circuits serially. Output data generated by execution of the subgraphs are provided to the same or a second group of neuron circuits at a same time or with associated timing data indicative of a time at which the output data was generated. The same or second group of neuron circuits performs one or more processing operations based upon the output data.

In one example, An analog-to-digital converter (ADC) comprising a quantizer, the quantizer having a first quantization resolution for a first quantization operation subrange and a second quantization resolution for a second quantization operation subrange. At least one of the first quantization resolution or the first quantization operation subrange is programmable. At least one of the second quantization resolution or the second quantization operation subrange is programmable. The quantizer is configured to: receive an input voltage; and based on whether the input voltage belongs to the first quantization operation subrange or to the second quantization operation subrange, quantize the input voltage at the first quantization resolution or at the second quantization resolution to generate a digital output.

Abstract: A communication device has a controller that selects one of a second antenna and at least one alternate second antenna for concurrent transmission with a first antenna. The controller monitors concurrent communication activity of the first and the second transmitter. Based on the concurrent communication activity, the controller identifies respective transmit power limits associated with intermodulation distortion (IMD) for the first antenna transmitting at the first transmit frequency and one of the second antenna and the at least one alternate second antenna transmitting at the second transmit frequency and having respective antenna isolation levels to the first antenna. The controller identifies, available total radiated power (TRP), respectively, for the second antenna and the at least one alternate second antenna and connects the second transmitter to one of the second antenna and the at least one alternate second antenna having the highest available TRP to optimize communication performance.

Abstract: Multimedia content, such as film or video, is streamed to a plurality of users with a unique watermark embedded for each user. The content is provided through asynchronous multicast transmission. Users may request the content at different times and receive a uniquely watermarked stream of the content upon request as a discrete, just-in-time transmission. Content is watermarked upon a request for the content by a user. In several embodiments, each user is associated with a unique user identifier that becomes associated with a unique watermark. Once a watermark is associated with a user, the association is stored so that the same unique watermark may be used for future content requested by the user.

Abstract: An electronic apparatus including a control circuit that controls access to content and determines an operation mode of the electronic apparatus, and a monitoring circuit that monitors the access to the content, acquires content access information, and generates a table. The control circuit causes each of the content access information acquired by the monitoring circuit and the table generated by the monitoring circuit to be stored in a non-transitory computer-readable recording medium of the electronic apparatus. The monitoring circuit can update the content access parameters as additional content access information is acquired, and when the control circuit determines that the electronic apparatus is in an active mode, the control circuit can refer to the table and select, when access parameters of the active mode match the updated content access parameters, a current content to be output from the electronic apparatus.

The mode converter portion is configured to convert the light to a higher-order (TE10) mode, the mode converter portion spaced apart from the input coupler. The waveguide core has a second straight portion between the mode converter portion and a media-facing surface. The write head has a near-field transducer at the media-facing surface, the near-field transducer receiving the light at the TE10 mode from the waveguide and directing surface plasmons to a recording medium in response thereto.

An example apparatus includes a processor and a computer readable storage medium including computer readable instructions that cause the processor to analyze authentication information in a request for access to a communications network to identify which of multiple possible users associated with a communications network customer is a current user of a client device, analyze second network communications based on a security rule to identify a security risk of the second network communications, access a first profile corresponding to the identified current user to determine a rule to be used to handle network communications transferred within the communications network from the client device of the communications network customer that are diverted via a software-defined network (SDN) switch, and configure a forwarding table of the SDN switch to comply with information obtained from the client device.

Abstract: A mobile computing device that provides location information through directional sound is described herein. The mobile computing device includes a location detection system that provides location signals corresponding to a user location and a destination location, such as a vehicle location or a vertex of a predefined travel route, to a spatial audio generation system to define a spatial audio signal based on a direction from the user location to the destination location. The spatial audio signal is provided to an audio device of the mobile computing device that outputs the spatial audio signal as directional sound having a locus at the destination location.

Abstract: In an example, one or more member profiles and corresponding elapsed times indicating, for each of the one or more member profiles, how long the corresponding member of a social networking service took to respond to a request for confidential data with a submission of confidential data are obtained. Then a first set of one or more features are extracted from the one or more member profiles. The first set of one or more features and corresponding elapsed times are fed into a machine learning algorithm to train a confidential data response time prediction model to output a predicted time to respond to a request for confidential data for a candidate member profile. A second set of one or more features are obtained from a candidate member profile and fed to the confidential data response time prediction model, outputting the predicted time to respond to a request for confidential data.

Using the plurality of data items, a dictionary of clue-word pairs are generated. A crossword layout is generated using a random crossword layout generator. The generated crossword layout is input to a model that outputs a likelihood that the input crossword layout results in a valid crossword. If the likelihood that the crossword layout results in a valid crossword puzzle satisfies a first threshold, a plurality of words in a set of clue-word pairs from among the plurality of clue-word pairs is inserted into the crossword layout. If the plurality of words inserted into the crossword layout results in a valid crossword puzzle, the crossword puzzle is provided to a user on a user device using the set of clue-word pairs.
