Abstract: A method including measuring pressure of water in a water system of a structure at a single location in the water system using a pressure sensor of a sensing device to generate pressure measurement data representing the pressure of the water as measured by the pressure sensor. The method also can include communicating the pressure measurement data to one or more processors. The method additionally can include detecting a non-cyclical pressure event corresponding to a water leak in the water system of the structure during a first time period based on an analysis of information including the pressure measurement data. The information analyzed in the analysis does not include flow measurement data that represents a total amount of flow of the water in the water system of the structure during the first time period. Other embodiments are described.

Abstract: Circuitry, systems, and methods are provided that can acquire touch sensor data simultaneously for different modes of, for example, self, mutual, and pen, and with simultaneous sampling of the different channels. Drive/receive circuitry and methods of driving and receiving sensor electrode signals are provided that allow digital I/O pins to be used to interface with touch sensor electrodes using external passive filter components. Drive/receive circuitry is provided employing voltage following sigma-delta A/D converters that are adapted to both drive and sense touch sensor signals on multiple frequencies simultaneously. This circuitry may be operated in modes to sense various combinations of mutual, self, and pen touch signals simultaneously. While capacitive multi-touch sensors are preferred, the circuits and methods herein are useful with many other types of touch sensors as well.

Abstract: A system receives a request to deploy a virtual machine on a node from a plurality of nodes running a plurality of virtual machines in a cloud computing system. The system selects one of the plurality of nodes having a hard disk drive (HDD) input output operations per second (IOPS) value less than an observed HDD IOPS value for the plurality of nodes running the plurality of virtual machines. The system receives a predicted HDD IOPS value for the virtual machine and determines a new HDD IOPS value for the selected node based on the HDD IOPS value for the selected node and the predicted HDD IOPS value for the virtual machine. The system instantiates the virtual machine on the selected node when the new HDD IOPS value for the selected node is less than or equal to the observed HDD IOPS value for the plurality of nodes.
