  • Patent number: 10965624
Abstract: The techniques disclosed herein improve existing communication systems by automatically generating auto-response notices when a message to a user is related to a group with which the user is no longer a member. For example, after changing groups within a company, the user may still receive numerous messages related to the former group. Messages intended for this user may then be identified as related to a group with which the user is no longer associated based on the identity of the sender, other recipients of the message, the contents of the message, and a message context. The system may present an auto-response notice to the sender while the message is being drafted and before it has been sent. The auto-response notice alerts the sender of the changed group affiliation of the user.

  • Patent number: 10960497
Abstract: A universal approach is described to produce welding filler materials with enhanced grain refining, for making welded objects with hot-crack resistance. Some variations provide a welding filler material comprising a functionalized metal-containing powder, wherein the functionalized metal-containing powder comprises metal or metal alloy particles and a plurality of nanoparticles disposed on surfaces of the metal or metal alloy particles, and wherein the nanoparticles are consolidated in a three-dimensional architecture throughout the welding filler material. A welded object contains a welding filler material comprising the functionalized metal-containing powder, enabling the welded object to be free of hot cracks. Other variations provide methods of making a welding filler material. This approach has been successfully demonstrated by incorporating zirconium-based nanoparticle grain refiners within a welding precursor material for welding aluminum alloy Al 7075, as one non-limiting example.

  • Patent number: 10962478
Abstract: An imaging system images a sample across one or more wavelengths. A light source illuminates a sample with one or more wavelengths of light, and an image sensor detects light from the illuminated sample. A linear variable long pass filter is positioned to filter light reflected from the sample to pass to the image sensor multiple different wavelength bands having different cut-off wavelengths. Wavelengths of light on one side of the cut-off wavelength are blocked and wavelengths of light on the other side of the cut-off wavelength are passed as multiple different long pass wavelength bands for detection by the image sensor. The image sensor detects light for each of the multiple different long pass wavelength bands from the sample. Data processing circuitry converts the detected light for the multiple different long pass wavelength bands for the sample into corresponding different long pass wavelength band data sets for the sample.

  • Patent number: 10963848
Abstract: A system facilitates identifying service providers capable of performing services for users and enable the pricing and scheduling of services to be performed by the service providers. A user submits a service request including a service description and optionally service constraints such as a required service location and service time. The system matches the service request with service providers potentially suitable for performing the requested service. The system sends bid solicitations to matched service providers, who may then respond with requests for additional information or bids. The bids are presented to the user, who then selects the bid best suited for his or her needs. The service provider associated with the selected bid is notified of the user's selection, thereby scheduling the service. A social graph associated with the user may be used to assist users in selecting bids.

  • Patent number: RE48497
Abstract: In electronic equipment device 1, a limitation level on reading an access level to selectively control the ability to read data from a USB flash drive (storage device) 2 is set to a setting section by an access level setting unit 3 in advance. The USB flash drive 2 ascertains the setting at the setting section 3 access level when the USB flash drive is connected to the electronic equipment 1 and limits reading data based on the determined setting device. If the limitation access level does not match with the condition for permitting data read-out as determined in USB flash drive 2 permit the reading of data, the USB flash drive 2 prohibits the electronic equipment 1 device from reading out data from a memory 24 of the USB flash drive by removing an application of power from the external device to the memory. By executing the processing for limiting data read-out at the side of the USB flash drive 2, unauthorized leakage of data can easily be prevented.
