Abstract: Techniques manage a storage system comprising a group of storage devices. The techniques involve: determining from the group of storage devices a first storage device which is in a rebuilding state; in response to a second storage device in the group of storage devices failing, obtaining a recoverability indication indicating whether a data block in the second storage device, which corresponds to a target data block in the first storage device, is recoverable or not on the basis of a data state of the target data block; and recovering data in the data block in the second storage device corresponding to the target data block on the basis of the recoverability indication.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices, including machine-readable media, for dynamic battery power management are disclosed. In some implementations, an electronic device that is powered by a battery senses a voltage provided by the battery and an electric current provided by the battery. The electronic device determines a present state of the battery. The electronic device determines a current limit for the electronic device based on the sensed voltage and electric current and the determined present state of the battery. The electronic device manages power use of the electronic device to maintain electric current draw from the battery at or below the electric current limit.
Abstract: A method for analyzing security alarms is provided. The method comprising receiving alarm data from a number of security sensors generating alarms, wherein the alarm data includes spatio-temporal data regarding where and when an alarm is triggered. The alarm data is displayed on a user interface. The alarm data is analyzed for spatio-temporal relationships among the alarms according to a number of pattern recognition algorithms. The alarms are identified as genuine alarms if a discernable pattern is recognized among the alarms.

Abstract: A bicycle wheel sensor is provided and includes a housing configured to be at least partially disposed within a tire of a bicycle wheel. The sensor may be mounted opposite a valve stem location to help balance the bicycle wheel. Abstract: A vehicle includes a body and a door that is movably mounted to the body. The door has a powered latch and an electrically-powered actuator that extends and retracts a plunger from an inner side of the door. A controller unlatches the powered latch and actuates the electrically-powered actuator such that the plunger contacts the body and pushes the door open. The controller then controls the electrically-powered actuator to retract the plunger while the door is open.

In response to detecting the loss of traction, the vehicle's control system is able to use the resultant information to select an appropriate braking level or braking strategy. This may be done for both immediate driving operations and planning future portions of an ongoing trip. For instance, the on-board system is able to evaluate appropriate conditions and situations for active testing or passive evaluation of traction through autonomous braking and/or acceleration operations. The on-board computer system may share slippage and other road condition information with nearby vehicles and with remote assistance, so that it may be employed with broader fleet planning operations.

Abstract: A surgical hub is configured to transmit generator data associated with a surgical procedure from a generator of the surgical hub to a cloud-based system. The surgical hub comprises a processor and a memory storing instructions executable by the processor to: receive generator data; encrypt the generator data; generate a message authentication code based on the generator data; generate a datagram comprising: the encrypted generator data, the generated message authentication code, a source identifier and a destination identifier; and transmit the datagram to the cloud-based system. The datagram allows for the cloud-based system to: decrypt the encrypted generator data; verify the integrity of the generator data based on the message authentication code; authenticate the surgical hub as the source of the datagram; and validate a transmission path followed by the datagram between the surgical hub and the cloud based system.

Abstract: Systems and methods of detecting human movement with a sensor are provided, including generating a motion event signal in response to movement detected by the sensor, and generating a parameterized curve to represent the detected motion. The parameterized curve is fit to a predetermined window of sensor data captured by the sensor to filter the motion event signal. A noise magnitude estimate and a curve fit error is determined based on the fitted parameterized curve to the predetermined window. A detection threshold value is determined based on the curve fit error, a noise source signal estimate of known noise, and zero or more noise magnitudes from other sources. Human motion is determined by correlating a true motion event signal with human motion based on a comparison between a value of a point on the parameterized curve and the detection threshold value.
