Abstract: Methods and related devices for impinging light on tissue, for example within a body of a patient, to induce various biological effects are disclosed. Biological effects may include at least one of inactivating and/or inhibiting growth of one or more pathogens, upregulating a local immune response, stimulating enzymatic generation of nitric oxide to increase endogenous stores of nitric oxide, releasing nitric oxide from endogenous stores of nitric oxide, and inducing an anti-inflammatory effect. Wavelengths of light are selected based on intended biological effects for one or more of targeted tissue types and targeted pathogens. Light treatments may provide multiple pathogenic biological effects, either with light of a single wavelength or with light having multiple wavelengths. Devices and methods for light treatments are disclosed that provide light doses for inducing biological effects on various targeted pathogens and targeted tissues with increased efficacy and reduced cytotoxicity.

Abstract: A selectively adjustable and lockable utility mount is used to mount a device to a stable structure. The utility mount includes a hydraulic lock that applies the locking force that maintains the locked condition of the utility mount. Mounting brackets for utility mounts have spaced-apart mount elements that engage a surface of a stable structure. Some configurations of mounting bracket include mount elements that are movable between stored conditions and deployed conditions. The stored conditions reduce the size of the device to make it more convenient to pack. A climbing stick uses the storable mount elements.
Abstract: A fastener for attaching a first part and a second part includes a body comprising a first body portion, a second body portion, a flange arranged between the first body portion and the second body portion and extending radially outwardly from the body. A bore extends in an axial direction through the body and including an inner surface with threads. A plurality of splines extend radially outwardly from the second body portion and is configured to prevent rotation when the second body portion is inserted into an opening in the first part. An opening to the bore at the second body portion defines a concentric edge and an inclined plane extending from the concentric edge.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a photocatalytic oxidation device that includes a frame and a pair of opposing photocatalytic cell panels. An ultraviolet lamp is disposed within an interior chamber and, when activated, causes the generation of oxidizers at the cell panels. Air is passable through apertures of the cell panels and thus may be moved through the device. The device is structurally configured and dimensionally optimized to provide effective photocatalytic activity without overly restricting airflow.

Abstract: A system for healthcare resource scheduling is configured to calculate differential demand for a type of healthcare resource; based on the differential demand for the type of healthcare resource, determine, via an optimization engine, a suggested resource assignment; cause an operator device to display a user interface that displays a visual representation of the differential demand for the type of healthcare resource and a visual representation of the suggested resource assignment, wherein the visual representation of the suggested resource assignment is selectable by an operator of the operator device; receive, from the operator device, an operator selection comprising a selection of the suggested resource assignment in the user interface; and transmit an assignment notification to a computing device associated with a particular available resource of the type of healthcare resource.
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for suggesting a charging station for an electric vehicle. A partial range of the electric vehicle corresponding to a predetermined percentage of the current state of charge of a battery of the electric vehicle is determined. A location corresponding to the partial range, along a route to a destination, is determined and used to select a suggested charging station based on the location corresponding to the partial range. The suggested charging station is generated for presentation at a display.

Abstract: Technology for read in a cross-point memory array. Drive transistors pass read and write currents to the cross-point memory array. The read current charges a selected word line to turn on a threshold switching selector of a selected memory cell. While the threshold switching selector is on, the current (read or write) passes through the selected memory cell. The memory system applies a smaller overdrive voltage to a drive transistor when the drive transistor is passing the read current than when the drive transistor is passing the write current. A smaller overdrive voltage increases the resistance of the drive transistor. Increasing the resistance of the drive transistor increases the resistance seen by the threshold switching selector in the selected memory cell, which reduces the Ihold of the threshold switching selector.
