Abstract: A method of tightening inter-cellular junctions in endothelial or epithelial cells includes exposing the endothelial or epithelial cells to a norrin in concert with an anti-VEGF agent. Upon sufficient contact time, for norrin to selectively up-regulate gene expression of Cadherin or claudin-5 in the endothelial or epithelial cells, the inter-cellular junctions are tightened.

Abstract: A cycloidal reluctance machine includes a stator surrounding a rotor. Stator windings and rotor windings form respective concentric rotor and stator electromagnets. The rotor is eccentrically positioned with respect to the stator to move with two degrees of freedom (2DOF), including rotating motion about a rotary axis of the rotor and orbiting motion about a center axis of the stator. A rotor constraint mechanism (RCM) constrains motion of the rotor, such that the rotor is able to generate and transmit output torque to a coupled load in at least one of the 2DOF. A magnetic field polarity of stator poles and/or rotor poles of the respective stator and rotor changes over one electrical cycle of the polyphase voltage. The coupled load may be a drive axle of a vehicle in some embodiments. In others, the stator and rotor windings are driven via different power inverters.

The vibration isolation system is configured to isolate vibrations produced by the transducer from the device. The vibration isolation system includes a plurality of support brackets, and a suspension component including a plurality of flexures. The plurality of flexures includes a first set of flexures configured to suspend the first sub-assembly from the support brackets, a second set of flexures configured to suspend the second sub-assembly from the first sub-assembly, and a third set of flexures configured to suspend the second sub-assembly from the support brackets.
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, segmenting a file to obtain a set of segments, wherein the file can be regenerated according to a recombination of the set of segments. At least some segments are transported to a targeted group of users including a first group of users and a second group of users, via unlicensed frequency spectrum and according to a peer-to-peer file sharing process. A segmentation record identifying the set of segments is provided to the targeted group of users. A progress of a delivery of the set of segments is monitored according to the segmentation record. The progress of the delivery is analyzed to identify a deficiency in delivery of a particular segment of the set of segments. Responsive to the deficiency, the particular segment is provided to the first group of users via a licensed frequency spectrum. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for a motorized disconnect operable to selectively engage and disengage two rotating components of a vehicle drivetrain. As one example, a motorized disconnect system is provided that operates via an electric motor and includes a shifter assembly with an oscillating gear track and cam profile for rotating the shifter assembly while moving it in an axial direction to selectively couple two rotating components.
Abstract: A first device may determine to activate a location detection mode of a second device. The location detection mode may be related to locating the second device. The second device may not be within a short-range communicative proximity of a wireless transceiver component of the first device. The first device may select a user device, of a plurality of user devices, via which to cause the second device to activate the location detection mode. The first device may provide, via the user device, a set of instructions to cause the second device to activate the location detection mode. The first device may perform one or more other actions related to locating the second device after providing the set of instructions.
Abstract: Among other things, requests are received from voice assistant devices expressed in accordance with different corresponding protocols of one or more voice assistant frameworks. Each of the requests represents a voiced input by a user to the corresponding voice assistant device. The received requests are re-expressed in accordance with a common request protocol. Based on the received requests, responses to the requests are expressed in accordance with a common response protocol. Each of the responses is re-expressed according to a protocol of the framework with respect to which the corresponding request was expressed. The responses are sent to the voice assistant devices for presentation to the users.

Abstract: A pillowcase includes a top panel and an opposite bottom panel. The top panel has three sides that are joined with three sides of the bottom panel such that inner surfaces of the top and bottom panels that face one another define a cavity configured for disposal of a pillow. Fourth sides of the top and bottom panels are not joined with one another and define an opening that is in communication with the cavity. A power band extends across the opening to prevent a pillow that is positioned within the cavity from slipping out of the pillowcase unintentionally and/or to prevent a pillow that is positioned within the cavity from shifting within the cavity.
Abstract: Examples are disclosed that relate to dynamically controlling light sources on an optically trackable peripheral device. One disclosed example provides a near-eye display device comprising an image sensor, a communications subsystem, a logic subsystem, and a storage subsystem. The storage subsystem stores instructions executable by the logic subsystem to control a peripheral device comprising a plurality of light sources by receiving image data from the image sensor, identifying in the image data a constellation of light sources formed by a subset of light sources of the peripheral device, and based upon the constellation of light sources identified, send to the peripheral device via the communications subsystem constellation information related to the constellation of light sources identified.

Abstract: Techniques disclosed herein relate to using thermally conductive textiles for heat dissipation from wearable electronic devices. An exemplary thermally conductive textile may be constructed from an elasticated band for encircling a body part of a user (e.g., a user's head) and one or more thermally conductive wires that are affixed to the elasticated band in a wave pattern. The thermally conductive wires being arranged in the wave pattern allows for the thermally conductive wires to freely stretch and contract as forces are exerted on the elasticated band. Thus, the thermally conductive textile described herein exhibit elastic properties that are predominantly governed by the elasticated band while also exhibiting thermal properties that are predominantly governed by the thermally conductive wires. The thermally conductive textiles may also include locking fibers to restrict deformation of the wave pattern of the thermally conductive wires.
