Abstract: An automotive vehicle includes a body having a passenger compartment and a pedal assembly disposed within the passenger compartment. The pedal assembly includes a brake pedal emulator housing and at least one pedal coupled to the brake pedal emulator housing. The at least one pedal is actuatable by an occupant. The vehicle includes a first gearing element operably coupled to the pedal and a second gearing element operably coupled with the first gearing element. The vehicle further includes an actuator operably coupled to the second gearing element. The actuator is configured to disengage from the second gearing element and apply a motive force to the second gearing element. The vehicle further includes at least one controller in communication with the actuator. The controller is configured to control the actuator to move the pedal to the first position and control the actuator to move the pedal to the second position.

Abstract: The present application describes a system and method for converting a natural language query to a standard query using a sequence-to-sequence neural network. As described herein, when a natural language query is receive, the natural language query is converted to a standard query using a sequence-to-sequence model. In some cases, the sequence-to-sequence model is associated with an attention layer. A search using the standard query is performed and various documents may be returned. The documents that result from the search are scored based, at least in part, on a determined conditional entropy of the document. The conditional entropy is determined using the natural language query and the document.
Abstract: A lithium-ion electrochemical cell comprises a first electrode, a second electrode comprising elemental silicon, a microporous separator membrane between the first and second electrodes, and an electrolyte in contact with the electrodes and the membrane. The electrolyte comprises a lithium salt at a concentration in the range of about 0.1 M to about 5 M, and an additional metal salt at a concentration in the range of about 0.001 to about 5 M dissolved in an organic solvent. The additional metal salt comprises a metal cation that can form a lithium-silicon-metal Zintl phase; and the first electrode comprises metallic lithium or a cathode active material capable of donating and accepting lithium ions to and from the second electrode during electrochemical cycling. Electrolytes for use with silicon-containing electrodes also are described.

Abstract: An improved cutter assembly for use with a header of an agricultural harvester is provided. The assembly includes a pair of oppositely directed knife blades or cutter bars and a center knife drive. A crank shaft drives both knife blades in linear reciprocating paths with no fore and aft movement. As a consequence, harmful fore and aft vibration is eliminated. The assembly is simple and durable in design, less susceptible to vibration-induced wear and tear, and comparatively simple to manufacture and repair.

Abstract: A securement system for securing one or more calf hutches is provided. The securement system includes latch assemblies and a line. The piston is retracted to a second position, causing the first component and a first portion of the second component to flash to form a vapor stream while a second portion of the second component freezes to form a solid product stream. The fluid outlet is then opened. The piston is advanced to a third position that results in a third volume, smaller than the first volume, such that the vapor stream is expelled. The fluid outlet is closed. The piston is fully closed such that the solid product stream is pressed into and extruded through the solids outlet.

When the sleep state of the user changes from the deep sleep state, the device exits the idle mode and enters an operative state to execute any pending user-centric operations.

Abstract: The present invention provides a suturing device to minimize interference and obstructions during intricate surgeries. The curled suture device is significantly shorter than traditional suturing kits by featuring a needle attached to a specially manufactured thread incorporating a stopping mechanism preceding an angular, semi-rigid portion of thread followed by a curled portion of thread arranged in a corkscrew configuration. The stopping mechanism halts the movement of the thread as the needle and thread intermediate the needle and stopping mechanism is pulled through the suture point, securing the remainder of the thread for access. The semi-rigid portion of thread is thereby utilized in conjunction with its curled portion of thread, allowing for the user's unabated access to the corkscrew configuration to form a ready-made knot, minimizing interference and obstruction during surgery. The thread may be manufactured to form an additional semi-rigid and curled portions of thread upon creation of a knot.

Abstract: This document describes techniques and devices for handling an attempt to resume a wireless connection using a base station that supports a different core-network type. While in a current resource control state, such as an inactive state 332, a user equipment (UE) 111 or 112 selects a base station 124 with a different core-network type than a previously selected base station 122 or 121. In some cases, this selected base station 124 does not support the current resource control state or does not enable the UE 111 or 112 to transition to a different resource control state, such as a connected state 330. Consequently, if the UE 111 or 112 attempts to perform a procedure that would result in the UE 111 or 112 transitioning to the unsupported resource control state, the procedure may fail and consequently waste network resources or delay communications with the UE 111 or 112.
