Abstract: A first semiconductor die includes a first substrate, first semiconductor devices, first dielectric material layers having a first silicon oxide surface as an uppermost surface and forming first metal interconnect structures. A second semiconductor die includes a second substrate, second semiconductor devices, and second dielectric material layers forming second metal interconnect structures. A handle substrate is attached to a topmost surface of the second semiconductor die. The second substrate is thinned, and a second silicon oxide surface is provided as a bottommost surface of the second semiconductor die. The second semiconductor die is bonded to the first semiconductor die by inducing oxide-to-oxide bonding between the second silicon oxide surface and the first silicon oxide surface. The handle substrate is detached, and inter-die connection via structures are formed through the second substrate and the bonding interface to contact the first metal interconnect structures.

Abstract: Provided is a method and a system for multi-channel acoustic communication and sensing. For example, there is provided a system that includes a processor and a memory. The processor, when executing instructions from the memory, can perform certain operations. The operations can include classifying a motion detected near an ultrasonic receiver based on a Doppler shift observed in a signal measured by the ultrasonic receiver. The classifying can further include detecting a side lobe in a power spectrum of the signal to indicate that the motion has been detected.
Abstract: A containment seal seals a cable or tube to an opening accessing a containment vessel. The containment seal includes a lower body that attaches over the opening into the containment vessel. The cable or tube is inserted through a hole that extends axially through an upper body of the containment seal. Compression fittings are attached to the top and bottom ends of the upper body sealing the cable inside of the upper body. The cable sealed inside of the upper body in inserted through the lower body and into the opening accessing the containment vessel and a lower portion of the upper body is seated into the opening formed in the lower body. A retaining device compresses the upper body down against the lower body forming a seal between the upper body and lower body.
Abstract: A method is provided to fabricate an injection molded piece with a weakened portion in an injection molding system having a cavity defined by a fixed mold part and a moveable mold part. The method comprises injecting raw material in a liquid state into the cavity to form the injection molded piece; moving a weakening insert into the injection molded piece from a first surface of the injection molded piece; injecting a gas to the first surface of the injection molded piece with a controlled pressure, wherein moving the weakening insert into the injection molded piece and injecting the gas are performed while the injection molded piece is in the liquid state.
Abstract: The present disclosure provides natural gas and petrochemical processing systems including oxidative coupling of methane reactor systems that integrate process inputs and outputs to cooperatively utilize different inputs and outputs of the various systems in the production of higher hydrocarbons from natural gas and other hydrocarbon feedstocks.

Abstract: A network may provide latency optimization by configuring respective latency values of one or more network components. A latency manager may receive a request indicative of a maximum latency value of a communications path between two devices, and may determine a particular network latency value. The latency manager may then determine respective endpoint latency values for endpoint devices based on the maximum latency value and network latency values. In addition, buffer characteristics, such as buffer depth at particular devices, may be adjusted in view of the latencies.

Abstract: Certain example embodiments relate to electric, potentially-driven shades usable with insulating glass (IG) units, IG units including such shades, and/or associated methods. In such a unit, a dynamic shade is located between the substrates defining the IG unit, and is movable between retracted and extended positions. The dynamic shade includes on-glass layers including a transparent conductor and an insulator or dielectric film, as well as a shutter. The shutter includes a resilient polymer, a conductor, and optional ink. Holes, invisible to the naked eye, may be formed in the polymer. Those holes may be sized, shaped, and arranged to promote summertime solar energy reflection and wintertime solar energy transmission. The conductor may be transparent or opaque. When the conductor is reflective, overcoat layers may be provided to help reduce internal reflection. The polymer may be capable of surviving high-temperature environments and may be colored in some instances.
Abstract: A luminaire includes a housing assembly, a spacer, and a globe optic. A collar may be included on the spacer such that the luminaire can accommodate different sizes of globe optics without requiring complete replacement of the luminaire. The spacer may include airflow apertures that promote air circulation within the luminaire when the luminaire is assembled. A wireless node may be included with the luminaire. In some examples, the wireless node may be positioned on at least one of the housing assembly, the spacer, or the globe optic.

Abstract: A system that manages an object storage may include frontend micro-services and backend micro-services. The frontend micro-services may obtain a request to store data in an object storage and divide the data into slices. The backend micro-services may generate a sketch of each slice, match each slice to a similarity group of a plurality of similarity groups, obtain meta-data associated with each matched similarity group, and add at least a portion of a slice of the slices to a compression region using the meta-data.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling a motion vector buffer for encoding or decoding of a video sequence includes identifying a set of motion vectors associated with an above coding tree unit (CTU), wherein each motion vector is associated with a P×Q grid, and the set of motion vectors is associated with an N×M grid. A motion vector is determined based on the set of motion vectors. The motion vector, in the motion vector buffer, is accessed based on a candidate block including a position associated with the N×M grid. A current CU can search from each 4×4 position for a current block. When the search range is beyond the current CTU, the motion vector (MV) data from the last row of the above CTU is used.

Abstract: Described herein are embodiments of a fully-convolutional attention-based neural text-to-speech (TTS) system, which various embodiments may generally be referred to as Deep Voice 3. Embodiments of Deep Voice 3 match state-of-the-art neural speech synthesis systems in naturalness while training ten times faster. Deep Voice 3 embodiments were scaled to data set sizes unprecedented for TTS, training on more than eight hundred hours of audio from over two thousand speakers. In addition, common error modes of attention-based speech synthesis networks were identified and mitigated, and several different waveform synthesis methods were compared. Also presented are embodiments that describe how to scale inference to ten million queries per day on one single-GPU server.
