Abstract: Disclosed are methods for conducting diagnostic tests for the detection of the inflammatory bowel diseases, such as Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. Also described are methods for monitoring a patient by administering tests of the present invention. Also described are methods for monitoring patient's treatment by administering tests of the present invention. Also described are methods for evaluating the effectiveness of a drug or a drug candidate by administering tests of the present invention to samples from patients, animal models, and cell cultures treated with a drug or a drug candidate. Also disclosed are methods for determining the usefulness of analytes, e.g. cytokines, for acting as diagnostic and monitoring markers for inflammatory bowel disease in the various methods of the invention.

Abstract: A factory processed and assembled optical fiber arrangement is configured to pass through tight, tortuous spaces when routed to a demarcation point. A connector housing attaches to the optical fiber arrangement at the demarcation point (or after leaving the tight, tortuous spaces) to form a connectorized end of the optical fiber. A fiber tip is protected before leaving the factory until connection is desired.
Abstract: Described herein are embodiments for systems and methods to incorporate skip-gram convolution to extract non-consecutive local n-gram patterns for comprehensive information for varying text expressions. In one or more embodiments, one or more recurrent neural networks are employed to extract long-range features from localized level to sequential and global level via a chain-like architecture. Comprehensive experiments on large-scale datasets widely used for the text classification task were conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of the presented deep skip-gram network embodiments. Performance evaluation on various datasets demonstrates that embodiments of the skip-gram network are powerful for general text classification task set. The skip-gram models are robust and may be generalized well on different datasets, even without tuning the hyper-parameters for specific dataset.

Abstract: A head-up display system includes a housing having an interior surface and defining a cavity configured for receiving a ray of light. The head-up display system also includes a lens disposed within the cavity and configured for reflecting the ray of light towards the interior surface. Further, the head-up display system includes a first cured film formed from a coating composition, disposed on the interior surface, and configured for absorbing a ray of light within the cavity. The head-up display system also includes a second deposited film formed by an ionized gas treatment of the first cured film. The second deposited film is configured for transmitting the ray of light to the first cured film to thereby minimize scatter of the ray of light within the cavity. Abstract: According to an aspect, a power supply system includes a power stage, a power supply controller configured to control operations of the power stage, a metering circuit configured to sense measured conditions of the power stage, and a system performance controller configured to be coupled to the power supply controller and the metering circuit. The system performance controller is configured to set or adjust a control parameter for the power stage based on energy conversion efficiency of the power stage. The system performance controller includes an efficiency computation circuit configured to compute the energy conversion efficiency of the power stage based on the measured conditions, and a control manipulation module configured to modify the control parameter until the energy conversion efficiency achieves a threshold condition.
Abstract: An anomalous user session detector is disclosed. A sequence of operations in a logon session for an authorized user is gathered. A supervised learning model is trained to identify the authorized user from the sequence of operations. An anomalous session is detected by querying the supervised learning model.

Abstract: The present invention describes methods to produce a synthetic or semi-synthetic cysteine synthase/PLP-dependent decarboxylase (sCs/PLP-DC). More particularly, the invention relates to genetic modification of organisms including eukaryotes and prokaryotes to express a functional sCs/PLP-DC. Abstract: An iridocorneal angle of the eye can be opened with a plurality of treatment locations at least about 2 mm radially outward from a limbus of the eye. The opening on the angle can be beneficial for treating both narrow angle glaucoma and open angle glaucoma. The plurality of treatment locations located away from the limbus can decrease invasiveness and complexity of the procedure. The plurality of treatment locations at least about 2 mm away from the limbus can provide tensioning to zonules coupled to the lens of the eye to flatten the lens of the eye, which can allow the iris to move posteriorly so as to open the iridocorneal angle. The plurality of treatment locations may comprise scleral locations, in which shrinkage of scleral tissue at the plurality of treatment locations provides tensioning to the zonules.

Abstract: The disclosed embodiments provide a system for selecting recommendations based on title transition embeddings. During operation, the system obtains a word embedding model of a set of job histories.
