Abstract: Methods of forming an ophthalmic element via generating a map of data values associated with pixels included in an energy transmissibility pattern. Data values correspond with an amount of energy transmissible through the optical element at a pixel location. The data values may be converted to additive manufacturing printhead control commands. A first print pattern of polymerizable mixture is emitted as droplets from a manufacturing printhead. The first print pattern of polymerizable mixture corresponding with the map of data values associated with pixels included in an energy transmissibility pattern. At least a portion of the droplets are received on a receiving surface.

Abstract: A system is provided that is configured to encode an image in accordance with a variable resolution image format. The variable resolution image format allows the specification of a number of windows in terms of their location and resolution. The image can be decomposed into a minimum number of square superpixels such that all specified windows are at the assigned resolution or better. By encoding one image where only critical portions are at the high resolution while less critical portions are at intermediate or lower resolutions, the number of bits that need to be transmitted from the system to a remote host subsystem can be dramatically reduced.

Abstract: A system for analyzing fluid-borne particles includes a reservoir for storing a fluid with fluid-borne particles, a fluid intake module coupled to the reservoir by a fluidical conduit, the fluid intake module having a container with a changeable volume, wherein when the volume increases, the fluid intake module receives fluid, and when the volume decreases, the fluid intake module expels fluid, and a particulate matter (PM) sensor disposed in the fluidical conduit between the reservoir and the fluid intake module for detecting fluid-borne particles in the fluidical conduit.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to methods and systems for selective atomic layer deposition. A substrate may be completely exposed to a precursor gas. Meanwhile, a localized energy scans the substrate. Methods and systems are disclosed herein for either directing the precursor gas away from the selected regions or limiting reactivity of the precursor gas outside of the selected regions. A thin film of reaction product is formed in the selected regions of the substrate and not on undesired surfaces.

Abstract: Systems and methods for endometrial ablation. The systems include a handle and elongated introducer sleeve extending to an expandable working end having a fluid-tight interior chamber. A thin dielectric wall surrounds at least a portion of the interior chamber and has an external surface for contacting endometrial tissue. The thin dielectric wall surrounds a collapsible-expandable frame and receives an electrically non-conductive gas. First and second polarity electrodes are exposed to the interior and exterior of the chamber, respectively. A radiofrequency power source operatively connects to the electrode arrangement to apply a radiofrequency voltage across the first and second electrodes, wherein the voltage is sufficient to initiate ionization of the neutral gas into a conductive plasma within the interior chamber, and to capacitively couple the current in the plasma across the thin dielectric wall to ablate endometrial tissue engaged by the external surface of the dielectric structure.

Abstract: A system comprising one or more processors and one or more non-transitory computer-readable media storing computing instructions, that when executed on the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform: receiving stock images comprising an anchor garment; automatically identifying the anchor garment and complementary garments within the stock images; selecting an image of the stock images in which a mask area of a first complementary garment of the complementary garments as a ratio of an area of the anchor garment is largest over other complementary garments of the complementary garments; performing an image search, using the image, in an item catalog for similar garments to the first complementary garment; and displaying, on a user interface, an avatar wearing the anchor garment and at least one of the similar garments. Abstract: The present disclosure provides an isolated Thiomonas isabelensis (ECOAU001) strain deposited at the Agricultural Research Service Culture Collection under the Accession number NRRL No. B-67995 according to the Budapest Treaty. The disclosed newly discovered bacterial strain is useful in precious metal extraction, production, and amplification. In particular, the present disclosure is directed to a novel microorganism useful to extract, produce and/or amplify precious metals and/or rare earth metals from an environmental substrate that it is cultured in.

Abstract: Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing object-based changes to filter-intent over multicast or publication/subscription (“Pub/Sub”) distribution. In various embodiments, a computing system (e.g., a managed device among a plurality of managed devices and/or its corresponding agent) may receive, from a network filter orchestration conductor, a global filter-intent list including a first filter intent that references a corresponding filter-intent object. The computing system may determine whether the at least one first filter intent applies to the managed device. If so, the computing system may translate the at least one first filter intent into a first filter that is specific to a first configuration of the managed device, in some cases, by building the first filter based at least in part on the at least one first filter intent. The computing system may subsequently apply the first filter to one or more network communications handled by the managed device.

Abstract: Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing application programming interface (“API”)-based concurrent call path (“CCP”) provisioning. In various embodiments, in response to receiving a CCP provisioning request, a computing system may determine whether such a request would affect a set of trunk groups assigned to a customer based at least in part on network utilization data. If not, the computing system may cause the nodes in the network to increase or decrease, in near-real-time, the number of CCPs in at least one trunk group assigned to the customer based on the CCP provisioning request. If so, the computing system may cause the nodes in the network to increase or decrease, in near-real-time, the number of trunk groups assigned to the customer and may cause the nodes in the network to increase or decrease, in near-real-time, the number of CCPs in the updated number of trunk groups.

Abstract: Presented are intelligent vehicle systems for automating thermal event mitigation for fully or partially enclosed vehicles, methods for making/using such systems, and vehicles equipped with such systems. A method of controlling operation of a vehicle includes a vehicle controller confirming the subject vehicle is parked and, once confirmed, responsively evaluating vehicle data indicating the vehicle is at least partially enclosed in a parking area and, thus, is in a vehicle parked in enclosed space (VPES) state. After determining the vehicle is both parked and in a VPES state, the controller detects a thermal event in a battery cell of the vehicle's battery system. Upon detection of the thermal event, the controller responsively determines path plan data with a designated route for extricating the vehicle from the parking area. The controller then commands the vehicle's autonomous driving system to execute control operations maneuvering the vehicle away from the parking area.

Abstract: An apparatus for installing cables in overhead transmission and distribution systems and a corresponding method of use are disclosed herein. The apparatus described herein may comprise a dual messenger rolling cable spacer used to install cables in overhead transmission and distribution systems. In various embodiments, the method of using the dual messenger rolling cable spacer may include installing a carrier messenger wire across a span between utility structures. One or more rolling spacers may then be hung from the carrier messenger wire via a roller such that the roller is in contact with the carrier messenger wire. A set of cables and a circuit messenger wire may be affixed to the one or more rolling spacers. The circuit messenger wire may then be pulled across the span causing the one or more rolling spacers to roll along the carrier messenger wire, thereby pulling the set of cables across the span.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for speaker diarization are disclosed. In one aspect, a method includes the actions of receiving audio data corresponding to an utterance. The actions further include determining that the audio data includes an utterance of a predefined hotword spoken by a first speaker. The actions further include identifying a first portion of the audio data that includes speech from the first speaker. The actions further include identifying a second portion of the audio data that includes speech from a second, different speaker. The actions further include transmitting the first portion of the audio data that includes speech from the first speaker and suppressing transmission of the second portion of the audio data that includes speech from the second, different speaker.

Abstract: Network management systems and methods are provided. A system is provided that includes an event database that provides a mapping of multimodal sensor data to events of devices coupled to a network, such as operational or behavioral events. A network management engine obtains a set of multimodal sensor data relating to a device, which may include sensor measurement or output data relating to each of multiple device operation or behavior parameters. The engine determines, utilizing the mapping, a match of the set of multimodal sensor data to a specific event associated with the device. Based at least in part on the determined match, the engine causes generation or updating of event data associated with the specific event, the data being accessible by network management software of the network management system.

Abstract: A nutrient system includes at least one nutrient feed line for introducing at least one nutrient into a water inlet or supply to form a circulation stream: an eductor injector for introducing a powder comprising at least one dry nutrient into the circulation stream; an ultrasonic cavitation reactor for applying at least one frequency to the circulation stream; and a nanobubble generator module for introducing nanobubbles of at least one gas into the circulation stream. The system may also include a cooling/ultraviolet disinfection module for cooling and disinfecting the circulation stream. The system may be used to obtain a nutrient composition for a plant growing environment.

Abstract: A system including an engine connectable to a time variant working load. A motor is connected to the engine, and a variable frequency drive is connected to the motor. A system controller is connected to the variable frequency drive, and is programmed to command the variable frequency drive to change a selected mode of the motor according to an operational state of the engine. An electrical generation mode includes the motor operating as a generation load on the engine when the working load falls to an intermediate load below the operational load. A generation load combined with the intermediate load includes about the operational load. A standby mode includes the motor operating as a standby load on the engine when the working load about equals the operational load. A drive mode includes the motor applying mechanical power to the engine.

Abstract: A system, device, and method for a universal intersystem connection are provided. In one aspect, a shielded twisted pair of wires electrically connects a first circuit board and a second circuit board in an apparatus, where the first and second circuit boards may communicate over the shielded twisted pair using differential signalling, and the first circuit board may also be powered by direct current (DC) power over the shielded twisted pair. In an example, the second circuit board is a controller of the first circuit board and may be electrically connected to a battery which powers the first circuit board via the shielded twisted pair. In other examples, a plurality of circuit boards may be electrically connected by the shielded twisted pair to a power source and may communicate with each other via differential signalling over shielded twisted pair.

Abstract: This document relates to accurate quantitative predictions relating to various systems of interest. One example can obtain temporal data relating to a system from a first source and obtain complex events that can affect the system from a second source. The example can train a model iteratively using generative networks that correlate the temporal data from the first source and the complex events from the second source. The example can employ a temporal sequential encoder to control predictions for future temporal data utilizing the trained model.

At least one example is a method of operating a multi-phase power converter, the method comprising: operating, by a voltage regulator, a first phase of the multi-phase power converter at a frequency and a first phase-relationship, the first phase comprising first and second power modules; operating, by the voltage regulator, a second phase of the multi-phase power converter at the frequency and a second phase-relationship different than the first phase-relationship, the second phase comprising third and fourth power modules; at least partially balancing current, by the voltage regulator, as between the first phase and the second phase by controlling a first or second duty cycles, respectively; and at least partially balancing current as between the first and second power modules of the first phase based on a local-sharing signal coupled between the first and second power modules.
