Abstract: In an aspect, a computer implemented method receives, for a volume within a building, a set of images captured from corresponding locations within the volume, each image taken at a corresponding location, and each image having data specifying the corresponding location from which the image was captured; receiving a three-dimensional point cloud of the volume; detects, using one or more computer vision processing techniques, items of interest within the images; for each item of interest in each image, determines, based on the point cloud and the data specifying the corresponding locations from which the images were captured, a coordinate for the item of interest, the coordinate specifying a location within the volume that corresponds to the item of interest in the image; and stores the data specifying each item of interest and, for each item of interest, its determined coordinate, in a data storage.

Abstract: Network management systems and methods are provided. A system is provided that includes an event database that provides a mapping of multimodal sensor data to events of devices coupled to a network, such as operational or behavioral events. A network management engine obtains a set of multimodal sensor data relating to a device, which may include sensor measurement or output data relating to each of multiple device operation or behavior parameters. The engine determines, utilizing the mapping, a match of the set of multimodal sensor data to a specific event associated with the device. Based at least in part on the determined match, the engine causes generation or updating of event data associated with the specific event, the data being accessible by network management software of the network management system.

Abstract: A nutrient system includes at least one nutrient feed line for introducing at least one nutrient into a water inlet or supply to form a circulation stream: an eductor injector for introducing a powder comprising at least one dry nutrient into the circulation stream; an ultrasonic cavitation reactor for applying at least one frequency to the circulation stream; and a nanobubble generator module for introducing nanobubbles of at least one gas into the circulation stream. The system may also include a cooling/ultraviolet disinfection module for cooling and disinfecting the circulation stream. The system may be used to obtain a nutrient composition for a plant growing environment.

Abstract: A system including an engine connectable to a time variant working load. A motor is connected to the engine, and a variable frequency drive is connected to the motor. A system controller is connected to the variable frequency drive, and is programmed to command the variable frequency drive to change a selected mode of the motor according to an operational state of the engine. An electrical generation mode includes the motor operating as a generation load on the engine when the working load falls to an intermediate load below the operational load. A generation load combined with the intermediate load includes about the operational load. A standby mode includes the motor operating as a standby load on the engine when the working load about equals the operational load. A drive mode includes the motor applying mechanical power to the engine.

Abstract: A system, device, and method for a universal intersystem connection are provided. In one aspect, a shielded twisted pair of wires electrically connects a first circuit board and a second circuit board in an apparatus, where the first and second circuit boards may communicate over the shielded twisted pair using differential signalling, and the first circuit board may also be powered by direct current (DC) power over the shielded twisted pair. In an example, the second circuit board is a controller of the first circuit board and may be electrically connected to a battery which powers the first circuit board via the shielded twisted pair. In other examples, a plurality of circuit boards may be electrically connected by the shielded twisted pair to a power source and may communicate with each other via differential signalling over shielded twisted pair.

Abstract: This document relates to accurate quantitative predictions relating to various systems of interest. One example can obtain temporal data relating to a system from a first source and obtain complex events that can affect the system from a second source. The example can train a model iteratively using generative networks that correlate the temporal data from the first source and the complex events from the second source. The example can employ a temporal sequential encoder to control predictions for future temporal data utilizing the trained model.

Abstract: Renewably-sourced biodegradable polyolefin packaging, utensils, and containers include a renewably-sourced polyolefin (for example, polyethylene and polypropylene) and a biodegrading agent. The renewably-sourced biodegradable polyolefin packaging is made from plant materials typically by polymerizing olefins that are made from reducing alcohols created by fermenting plant materials. An example of a suitable plant material is sugarcane and its derivatives. The biodegrading agent accelerates the biodegradation of polyolefin packaging even in anaerobic and dark (i.e., absent of ultraviolet light) environments. Such a packaging is particularly useful for packaging frozen food that is to be microwaved in the packaging. The package is also particularly usable as packaging for frozen comestibles, which are often stored at dry-ice temperatures.

Abstract: A flow limiter for a cut-off valve of a hydraulic pumping system and a hydraulic system using such a flow limiter. The flow limiter provides for limiting a flow through a cut-off valve. The flow limiter for a cut-off valve of a hydraulic pumping system includes a valve body with a hollow channel. The hollow channel has a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet, and the fluid inlet is in fluid communication with a discharge line of the cut-off valve in a mounted state of the flow limiter. A valve element is slidably arranged within the channel and can transition from a first position towards a second position, if a predefined fluid pressure threshold is exceeded at the fluid inlet. The valve element is arranged in the hollow channel so that in the second position a fluid flow from the fluid inlet to the fluid outlet is larger than in the first position.

Abstract: A database system is operable to determine to generate a segment rebuild plan for rebuilding a first segment based on accessing first segment metadata for the first segment. A plurality of replicated part location data is determined for a plurality of parts of the first segment based on processing the first segment metadata and based on applying a deterministic segment part replica dispersal algorithm previously utilized to store the segment group. Nodes of the database system storing a corresponding plurality of sibling parts required to rebuild the plurality of parts of the first segment are determined based on the plurality of replicated part location data and based on storage location-to-node mapping data. The first segment is rebuilt based on applying the segment rebuild plan.

Abstract: A database system is operable to generate an initial query operator execution that includes an IO operator for execution serially before an aggregation operator indicating performance of an aggregation. The initial query operator execution flow is converted into an updated query operator execution flow semantically equivalent to the initial query operator execution flow based on updating the IO operator to include the performance of the aggregation and adding a re-aggregation operator serially after the IO operator. A corresponding query is executed by applying the updated query operator execution flow based on executing, via each of a plurality of parallelized resources, the IO operator generate corresponding sub-aggregation output via performance of the aggregation, and executing the re-aggregation operator upon data blocks generated based on execution of the IO operator across the plurality of parallelized resources.

Abstract: A data processing system for conditioning productivity application file content for ingestion by an artificial intelligence (AI) language model includes a server system hosting a conversion service, the server system comprising processing and memory resources; an Application Programming Interface (API) for the conversion service to receive productivity application files at any scale; and a format converter of the conversion service, the format converter converting a productivity application file to a format compatible with the AI language model to enable the AI language model to operate on the file content based on a user instruction submitted with the file content as output by the format converter.

The remote control device may be mounted over a mechanical switch that is installed in a wallbox. The remote control device may include a base, a battery, a battery holder, and a control unit. The base may be configured to attach the remote control device to the mechanical switch. The control unit may be configured to be removably attached to the base. The battery holder may be configured to retain the battery therein. The battery holder may be configured to be installed within the void defined by the housing. The battery holder may be operable between a first position in a lower portion of the void and a second position in an upper portion of the void.

Abstract: A method for producing a photoemitting or photoreceiving diode includes producing, on a first substrate, first and second semiconductor layers with opposite dopings, and a third intrinsic semiconductor layer; etching trenches surrounding remaining portions of the second and third layers and of a first part of the first layer; and producing, in the trenches, a dielectric spacer covering side walls of said remaining portions. The method also includes etching to extend the trenches as far as the first substrate; laterally etching a part of the dielectric spacer, exposing contact surfaces of the second part of the first layer; and producing, in the trenches, a first electrode in contact with the contact surfaces of the second part of the first layer and with lateral flanks of the second part of the first layer.

Abstract: A system for analyzing fluid-borne particles includes a reservoir for storing a fluid with fluid-borne particles, a fluid intake module coupled to the reservoir by a fluidical conduit, the fluid intake module having a container with a changeable volume, wherein when the volume increases, the fluid intake module receives fluid, and when the volume decreases, the fluid intake module expels fluid, and a particulate matter (PM) sensor disposed in the fluidical conduit between the reservoir and the fluid intake module for detecting fluid-borne particles in the fluidical conduit.

Abstract: Provided in this disclosure is a method of organizing data from an unordered, unclustered dataset including data points having attributes. The data points are sorted into neighborhoods each having categories based on the attributes. Similarity clusters are created based on a user-selected similarity cluster scope. The clusters are arranged into a similarity tree organized dataset where the clusters are grouped into a hierarchy of similarity levels. New data points are inserted by determining similarity of their attributes to data points in grouped clusters at the highest levels of the hierarchy, and then comparing to data points in grouped clusters at progressively lower levels until a suitable cluster is determined, whereupon the new data point is then inserted. In this manner, only a selected portion of data points are compared, representing an improvement over previous methods that require comparisons to all the data points in a dataset.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to methods and systems for selective atomic layer deposition. A substrate may be completely exposed to a precursor gas. Meanwhile, a localized energy scans the substrate. Methods and systems are disclosed herein for either directing the precursor gas away from the selected regions or limiting reactivity of the precursor gas outside of the selected regions. A thin film of reaction product is formed in the selected regions of the substrate and not on undesired surfaces.

Abstract: In aspects, a high altitude platform station, HAPS, communicating with a user equipment, UE, using an adaptive phase-changing device, APD. The HAPS receives characteristics of the APD and selects the APD for inclusion in a wireless communication path with the UE based at least in part on the characteristics. The HAPS transmits a resource grant to the APD that includes an indication of air interface resources for an APD-Physical Downlink Control Channel, APD-PDCCH, between the HAPS and the APD, transmits, to the APD, an indication of phase vectors and timing information for a surface of the APD using the APD-PDCCH, and communicates with the UE using wireless transmissions that travel along the wireless communication path that includes the surface of the APD.

Abstract: Provided is a system and method for a multi-tenant datacenter with layer 2 cloud interconnection and cloud storage. More specifically, the datacenter providing cloud storage, includes a plurality of Client Systems coupled to a first datacenter each Client System having a set of infrastructure resources and an initial networking configuration; and a first cloud computing environment established in the first datacenter, and coupled to the Client Systems by OSI Layer 2 as a data link layer for the transfer of data frames, each frame having a plurality of OSI Layer 2 tags, the first cloud computing environment providing storage resources for allocation to at least two Client Systems, the plurality of OSI Layer 2 tags permitting the at least two Client Systems to have overlapping network configurations. An associated method of providing a multi-tenant datacenter with layer 2 cloud interconnection and cloud storage is also provided.

Abstract: Devices with low or no security are often added to networks. These devices have the ability to utilize the network and, accordingly, may pose a security risk. Systems and methods herein enable a device to be added to a network and, if the resulting new traffic matches a template, the device is established on an automatically created virtual local area network (VLAN) used solely for the new device. A router is automatically configured to allow traffic that matches the type of device that was newly added, but if other traffic is detected, the device may be treated as a threat and managed accordingly.
