Abstract: A system for measuring the topography of a surface including a carriage assembly and a base assembly. The carriage assembly comprising a plurality of displacement-measuring probes coupled to a carriage support structure. The base assembly positioned adjacent to the carriage assembly and comprising at least one reference object with an opening sized to receive a test object. At least one of the carriage assembly or the base assembly is configured to translate with respect to the other in at least two directions to enable at least one of the displacement-measuring probes to measure a displacement to a reference surface of the reference object and at least another one of the displacement-measuring probes to measure a displacement to a target surface of the target object whose topography is measured.
Abstract: Described herein are systems, methods, and software to manage secure tunnel communications in multi-edge gateway computing environments. In one implementation, a control system identifies an edge gateway from a plurality of edge gateways to support a private network tunnel. The control system further identifies addressing attributes associated with communications directed over the private network tunnel and configures the plurality of edge gateways to forward packets associated with the addressing attributes to the identified edge gateway, wherein the edge gateway can process and forward the packets over the private network tunnel.
Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatuses are described for determining one or more referrals associated with an electronic marketplace. Search results of a search to a user device responsive to receiving the search from the user device for a product(s) or service(s) associated with an electronic marketplace platform may be transmitted. A selection, from the user device, of a product(s) or service(s) associated with the search results may be received. A service fee(s) for a transaction(s) associated with the selected product(s) or service(s) may be determined. A referral fee(s), based on the service fee(s), responsive to determining that one or more entities referred the product(s) or service(s) associated with the transaction(s) may be determined. A level(s) assigned to each of the one or more entities and a predetermined referral fee percentage(s), based on the service fee(s), for the level(s) assigned to each of the one or more entities may be determined.
Abstract: Systems and methods for tethering a fiber optic cable to an apparatus such as an unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV) or remotely operated vehicle (ROV). The cable is a bare or tight-buffered optical fiber surrounded by a braided sheath, and is constructed so that loads experienced by the cable are not transferred from the sheath to the optical fiber. This construction enables the cable to have good tensile strength but be sufficiently lightweight so that a commercial fishing reel or any similarly scaled lightweight/portable winch system can be used, instead of large specialized deployment equipment. A tube is inserted between the sheath and the optical fiber a certain distance from the end of the cable, and then the cable and tube are inserted into a housing which attaches to the apparatus and potted using an epoxy resin.

Abstract: A system for obtaining vehicle status data includes a location sensor configured to obtain location data for one or more connected devices in or around the vehicle. The vehicle has a plurality of seats, including at least one seat without an occupant sensor. The location data is obtained based at least partially on radiofrequency waves. A command unit is adapted to receive the location data. The command unit has a processor and tangible, non-transitory memory on which instructions are recorded. The command unit is adapted to obtain the vehicle status data in real time based in part on the location data of the one or more connected devices, the vehicle status data including a total number of occupants in the vehicle.

Abstract: A method is described and includes receiving an indication that a collision between a vehicle and an object is predicted; processing first sensor data obtained from a first onboard sensor of the vehicle to determine whether an actual occurrence of the predicted collision can be confirmed from the first sensor data and if not, processing second sensor data obtained from a second onboard sensor of the vehicle to determine whether the actual occurrence of the predicted collision can be confirmed from the second sensor data. If the actual occurrence of the predicted collision is confirmed from one of the first sensor data and the second sensor data, determining a severity of the collision based on the indication and the one of the first sensor data and the second sensor data; and prompting an action to be based on the determined severity of the collision.

Abstract: A system for detecting access to a security sensitive component on an electronic device includes a PCB-mounted connector that provides read/write access to a security sensitive component on the PCB. The system further includes a connector cap that mates with at least a portion of the connector and that includes circuitry that facilitates current flow across at least a portion of the PCB-mounted connector when the connector cap is mated with the PCB-mounted connector, When removed from the PCB-mounted connector, the current flow is disrupted. The system further includes an intrusion detection controller that monitors a voltage at a sampling point adjacent to detect removal of the connector cap and to generate an intrusion logfile entry in response.
