  • Patent number: 10551611
Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to a method, and apparatus implementing the method for removing particulate accumulation from an optical element of a micro electromechanical systems (MEMS) package. The method may select a cleaning mode based, at least in part on, one or more of output of a sensor or a maintenance routine. Cleaning modes may include actuating, using an actuator of the MEMS package, one of a plurality of motion modes across the optical element. Optionally, the cleaning mode may include applying, using a power source of the MEMS package, a charge to the optical element. The disclosed techniques may enable the MEMS package to automatically and dynamically remove particulate matter without introducing additional mechanical elements.

  • Patent number: 10549417
Abstract: A sawhorse having quick release deployable supports. The sawhorse includes a stretcher body having deployable supports pivotally mounted to the stretcher body. The deployable supports pivot with respect to the stretcher body from a storage position wherein the first and second supports are generally parallel to the stretcher body and a deployed position wherein the first and second supports are generally perpendicular to the stretcher body. A single lock mechanism locks the first and second deployable supports in the storage position and releases the deployable supports to the deployed position. Either the first or second deployable supports can be arbitrarily pivoted from the deployed to the storage position, with the other deployable support being pivoted from the deployed to the storage position.

  • Patent number: 10548772
Abstract: A change in the response of the cornea to ultrasonic energy directed into the cornea is monitored during irradiation of the cornea to bring about corneal crosslinking. Because the change in ultrasonic response is correlated with the degree of crosslinking achieved, a desired degree of crosslinking can be achieved by terminating the irradiation when the change reaches a threshold. The change in ultrasonic response can be determined by taking a baseline measurement before irradiation and additional measurements during irradiation using the same ultrasonic transducer (47). The transducers may be carried on a device (30) resembling a contact lens which overlies the eye and which transmits the light used in the irradiation step to the eye.

  • Patent number: 10548851
Abstract: Embodiments provide swallowable devices, preparations and methods for delivering viable cells (VC) into the GI tract including GI wall tissue or other tissue site. Particular embodiments provide a swallowable device such as a capsule for delivering VC into an intestinal wall or other site. The VC can be contained within a tissue-penetrating shell disposed in the capsule that protects the VC as they pass through the GI tract until they are inserted into GI tract tissue or other location. The shell desirably has shape, size and material consistency to be contained in a swallowable capsule, delivered from the capsule into solid tissue by the application of force on the shell and biodegrade within the solid tissue to release the VC into the tissue. Within the shell or other structure the VC can be maintained in a viability-sustaining gel that preserves the viability of the VC for selected time periods.
