  • Patent number: 10550615
Abstract: An exemplary vehicle hinge assembly can include a hinge pin and a latch. The latch is configured to transition from a locked position to an unlocked position when the hinge assembly is opened in a first orientation, and is configured to stay in the locked position when the hinge assembly is opened in a second orientation different than the first orientation. The latch in the locked position blocks movement of the hinge pin from the engaged position. An exemplary securing method can include rotatably coupling a door to a vehicle body with a hinge assembly. When the hinge assembly not inverted, movement of a hinge pin of the hinge assembly from an engaged to a disengaged position is permitted. When and inverted, movement of a hinge pin from the engaged position is blocked.

  • Patent number: 10552371
Abstract: A target data storage system performing a migration operation also responds to client requests by creating and maintaining a metadata cache for caching attributes of a user file as obtained from a source data storage system. A read-type client request is processed by (1) determining whether the metadata cache stores current attribute values, (2) if so, then satisfying the client request using the current values in the metadata cache, and (3) otherwise obtaining current attribute values from the source data storage system and satisfying the client request using the obtained current attribute values, and storing the current values in the metadata cache to be available for use in processing subsequent read-type client requests. A write-type client request is processed forwarding modified attribute values from the client request to the source data storage system for storage therein.

  • Patent number: 10549756
Abstract: A transportation vehicle provides a brake autohold function to maintain braking without requiring the driver to continuously apply pressure on a brake pedal. The vehicle comprises an autohold selector, a parking brake selector, a brake pedal, and an accelerator pedal. A braking system is adapted to enter an autohold event according to a pressed brake pedal at vehicle standstill during an active autohold mode toggled by the autohold selector. A controller is configured to terminate the autohold event in response to either a deactivation command using the parking brake selector or accelerator pedal movement, without deactivating the autohold mode. By manually terminating the brake autohold event the vehicle can begin to creep forward using only the torque generated by the engine at idle, thereby avoiding the additional torque that is generated when the accelerator pedal is used to terminate the brake autohold event.

  • Patent number: 10552123
Abstract: Embodiments relate to incorporating supplemental information into a code editor's editing view that may make the code more understandable to those not familiar or comfortable with the code. The editor receives adornments that may be translations or semantic equivalents of constructs already in the code. The editor adds the adornments to an editing view for editing the source code. The adornments are inserted into lines of the source code displayed in the editing view and have some of the appearance of the source code in the editing view. The adornments are passive with respect to the source code; they are not necessarily compiled or saved. The adornments may be tokens provided by a compiler and/or an integrated development environment. The editor may apply heuristics or rules to determine which adornments are to be used and where they will be inserted.

  • Patent number: 10554546
Abstract: An improved technique involves using a systems dynamics model in an information technology (IT) data center in order to determine an optimal distribution of data among data center devices. Along these lines, a data center control server takes measurements of devices across an IT data center over time and compares these measurements to quantities specified in set points (e.g., a service level agreement (SLA)) to produce deviations. The data center control server then inputs the deviations from the set points into a systems dynamics engine that determines a configuration of the devices in the IT data center so that output from the IT data center satisfies a set of constraints, including those specified in the SLA. The data center control server then configures the IT data center devices according to the configuration to send incoming data along the specified data paths.
