  • Patent number: 10552131
Abstract: Reducing emission of barriered instructions when translating processor instructions between instruction set architectures (ISA's). Embodiments include obtaining block(s) of processor instructions formatted according to a first processor ISA. The block(s) include an instruction that performs a memory operation whose execution order is constrained based on a hardware memory model of the first processor ISA. Based on an analysis of the block(s) of processor instructions, it is determined that the memory operation of the at least one instruction can be made order-independent in a hardware memory model of a second processor ISA. Based on the determination, one or more unbarriered processor instructions that are formatted according to the second processor ISA are emitted. The unbarriered processor instruction(s) are structured to perform the memory operation without ordering constraint.

  • Patent number: 10554985
Abstract: Described tools and techniques relate to signaling for DC coefficients at small quantization step sizes. The techniques and tools can be used in combination or independently. For example, a tool such as a video encoder or decoder processes a VLC that indicates a DC differential for a DC coefficient, a FLC that indicates a value refinement for the DC differential, and a third code that indicates the sign for the DC differential. Even with the small quantization step sizes, the tool uses a VLC table with DC differentials for DC coefficients above the small quantization step sizes. The FLCs for DC differentials have lengths that vary depending on quantization step size.

Abstract: An electrical contact structure (an MIS contact) includes one or more conductors (M-Layer), a semiconductor (S-Layer), and an interfacial dielectric layer (I-Layer) of less than 4 nm thickness disposed between and in contact with both the M-Layer and the S-Layer. The I-Layer is an oxide of a metal or a semiconductor. The conductor of the M-Layer that is adjacent to and in direct contact with the I-Layer is a metal oxide that is electrically conductive, chemically stable and unreactive at its interface with the I-Layer at temperatures up to 450° C. The electrical contact structure has a specific contact resistivity of less than or equal to approximately 10?5-10?7 ?-cm2 when the doping in the semiconductor adjacent the MIS contact is greater than approximately 2×1019 cm?3 and less than approximately 10?8 ?-cm2 when the doping in the semiconductor adjacent the MIS contact is greater than approximately 1020 cm?3.

  • Patent number: 10554624
Abstract: In an example, a web gateway is described, including an authentication proxy engine (PAE). The PAE authenticates a user device via, for example, a username and password, biometric data, or two-factor authentication. The web gateway then provides seamless and transparent single sign-on (SSO) for one or more web services. When the user requests a web page from the web service, the PAE inserts custom code that detects a login action. When the user logs in, a one-time token may be provided to auto-fill the username and password field. When the user submits the form, the PAE provides the actual credentials to the web service. The PAE may also provide authentication via authentication headers.

  • Patent number: 10550820
Abstract: In certain embodiments, a time-varying spark current ignition system can be applied to improve spark plug ignitability performance and durability as compared to conventional spark ignition systems. Two performance parameters of interest are spark plug life (durability) and spark plug ignitability. In certain embodiments, spark plug life can be extended by applying a spark current amplitude as low as possible without causing quenching of the flame kernel while it is traveling within an electrode gap and/or by applying spark current of a long enough duration to allow the spark/flame kernel to clear a spark plug gap. In certain embodiments, ignitability can be improved by applying a high enough spark current amplitude to sustain the flame kernel once outside the spark plug gap and/or by applying a spark current for long enough to sustain the flame kernel once outside the spark plug gap.
