In some aspects a method includes the actions of determining a position of an observer whose view of an object is obstructed by a barrier; determining a position of the object relative to the observer; generating an indication of the position of the object based at least in part on the determined position of the observer; and displaying the indication of the position of the object on a display located between the observer and the barrier.

Abstract: A method for sharding a store order database and order management application is provided. The method may include a computer router associated with a store receiving, from a customer computer, a query regarding an order. The router may use resident shard determination logic to identify a database shard which pertains to the order and which is part of a store order database having multiple database shards. The router may transmit information regarding the order to a database server which implements the identified database shard and which implements an order management system application layer. The database server may process information regarding the order and transmit information regarding the order to the customer computer.

Abstract: A control element for a motor vehicle provides a palpable response when touched. The control element includes a sensor, a touch-sensitive surface, which when touched causes the sensor to respond. An inert surface surrounds the touch-sensitive surface, which when touched does not cause the sensor to respond. An actuator is disposed between the touch sensitive surface and the inert surface and includes two components that can move relative to each other. One component is connected with the touch-sensitive surface, and the other component is connected with the inert surface. The actuator drives a motion of the touch-sensitive surface relative to the inert surface once a contact has been acquired.

Abstract: A cooling system in an engine is provided. The cooling system includes a cylinder bore including a central axis, a coolant duct including a first section positioned on a first side of the cylinder bore and a second section positioned on a second side of the cylinder bore, a connecting duct extending between the first section and the second section and including a first end opening into the first section and a second end opening into the second section. The connecting duct includes a first subsection and a second subsection extending inwardly toward the central axis and an intersection of the first subsection and the second subsection in a plane perpendicular to the central axis form a non-straight angle.

Abstract: A method for managing horseracing bets. The method includes receiving one or more bets. Each bet comprises a selection of five horse races selected from a plurality of horse races scheduled to be run at a track in a day, a selection of a respective horse for each of the five horse races selected and a bet amount. The method also includes combining each bet amount to form a betting pool and determining an amount of a total payout for the day based at least in part on the betting pool.

Abstract: A method for using tracking tags to control mobile cameras to determine and capture desired perspective views of objects of interest (OOIs), includes locating each OOI and determining an orientation of each OOI. A second location of each mobile camera is determined with an orientation of each mobile camera; the method includes controlling, based upon the first and second location, and the orientations, the mobile camera to maintain desired perspective views of the OOIs despite movement of the OOIs. The method executes on a system for controlling a mobile camera including tracking tags configured with each OOI and tracking tags configured with the mobile cameras. A tracking apparatus having at least three receivers positioned around an operational area receives locate signals from the tracking tags to determining location data and a processor determines movement plans for the mobile cameras.

The transmission includes: a transmission housing; a transmission pan housed within the transmission housing; transmission fluid contained within the transmission pan; and a transmission fluid conduit configured to circulate the transmission fluid between the transmission pan and within the transmission housing. The heat exchanger is disposed within the transmission housing and has a first surface positioned on the transmission pan and a second surface. The transmission control unit is disposed on and supported by the second surface of the heat exchanger such that the heat exchanger controls the temperature of the transmission control unit.

Abstract: Methodologies, systems, and computer-readable media are provided for locating objects. A computational device generates a first set of statistical data indicative of a frequency at which machine readable features associated with a first set of objects and machine readable features associated with a second set of objects are read within each of a plurality of object groups. The computational device also retrieves a second set of statistical data indicative of a historical frequency at which past groups of objects included machine readable features associated with the first set of objects and machine readable features associated with the second set of objects during a previous time interval. Based on a comparison between the first set of statistical data and the second set of statistical data, the computational deice computes a geographical relationship between the first set of objects and a portion of the objects from the second set of objects.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to initiating and completing peer to peer payments or peer to merchant payments initiated by financial cards and cameras of mobile devices. In some embodiments, the disclosed systems and methods may provide an accurate determination of parties involved in a peer to peer transaction, be useable with hardware and software that users are already in possession of, and securely initiate a peer to peer transaction. The disclosed systems may include a server communicatively coupled to a mobile device by a network. The server may receive an image of one or more financial cards, retrieve account information for each financial card in the received image, generate a proposed transaction based on the retrieved account information, transmit the proposed transaction to the mobile device, receive approval for the proposed transaction and initiate a payment or a transfer to an account based on the retrieved account information.

The method also includes executing, at a processor of the hardware encoder, a headless browser to retrieve an instance of a dynamic web page that includes additional content. The method also includes storing the additional content at a memory that is accessible to the processor and encoding circuitry of the hardware encoder. The method further includes retrieving, at the encoding circuitry, the additional content from the memory and encoding the input media stream to generate an output media stream. At least one frame of the output media stream includes at least a portion of the additional content in conjunction with at least a portion of a corresponding frame of the input media stream.
