  • Patent number: 10553450
Abstract: A method for thermally processing a minimally absorbing thin film in a selective manner is disclosed. Two closely spaced absorbing traces are patterned in thermal contact with the thin film. A pulsed radiant source is used to heat the two absorbing traces, and the thin film is thermally processed via conduction between the two absorbing traces. This method can be utilized to fabricate a thin film transistor (TFT) in which the thin film is a semiconductor and the absorbers are the source and the drain of the TFT.

  • Patent number: 10553041
Abstract: A system includes a processor configured to wirelessly receive first usage data in conjunction with a wear-state report, indicating a sensed level of system wear, from a plurality of vehicles. The processor is also configured to aggregate and analyze the first usage data to determine common parameters and corresponding values indicative of the sensed level of system wear. The processor is further configured to wirelessly receive second usage data from a vehicle lacking a sensor capable of sensing the sensed level of system wear. Also, the processor is configured to compare values of the common parameters in the second usage data to the determined values indicative of the sensed level of system wear and report a likely wear-state to the vehicle lacking the sensor, responsive to the comparison indicating a level of system wear similar to the sensed level of system wear.

  • Patent number: 10552753
Abstract: Techniques for inferring the identity (e.g., member profile attributes) of members of an online social network service are described. According to various embodiments, a member profile attribute missing from a member profile page associated with a particular member of an online social network service is identified. Member profile data and behavioral log data associated with a plurality of members of the online social network service is then accessed. Thereafter, a prediction modeling process is performed, based on a prediction model and feature data including the member profile data and the behavioral log data, to generate a confidence score associated with the particular member and the missing member profile attribute, the confidence score indicating a likelihood that the missing member profile attribute corresponds to a candidate value.

  • Publication number: 20200030131
Abstract: A non-water-activatable cast has one or more layers of sheet-like material which create a combined flexibility, stiffness, or rigidity so that the cast may be manually positioned in substantial contact with a lower extremity to be received within the cast. As such, the cast is not only readily deployable by a patient, but has predetermined flexibility located and selected to control ankle movement within a therapeutically appropriate range, whether used by itself or in association with a related orthosis, such as a CAM walker. In certain applications, the cast likewise offloads or otherwise redistributes force by virtue of the rigidity of the plantar impact surface on such cast and the rigidity of other cast portions.

  • Publication number: 20200030234
Abstract: Enteric elastomers and related methods are generally provided. In some embodiments, the enteric elastomer is a polymer composite. Certain embodiments comprise a polymer composite in which hydrogen bonds within two carboxyl group-containing polymers cross-link the polymer networks into an elastic and pH-responsive polymer composite. Advantageously, this polymer composite has the capacity of being stable and elastic in an acidic environment such as that of the stomach but can be dissolved in a neutral pH environment such as that of the small and large intestines. In some embodiments, the polymer composites described herein comprise a mixture of two or more polymers with carboxyl functionality such that the two or more polymers form hydrogen bonds. In certain embodiments, the polymer composite has both enteric and elastic properties.
