  • Patent number: 10536570
Abstract: A safety event is determined as affecting a user based at least in part context data collected at a user device associated with the user. In some aspects, context data is detected from sensors on the client device, the context data describing a present context of the user. A deviation of the present context from a historical context is determined to be beyond a threshold. Determining that the deviation is beyond the threshold can be determined to correspond to a safety event potentially jeopardizing safety of the user. In some aspects, an action can be launched in response to determining the safety event.

  • Patent number: 10531871
Abstract: A method of anchoring a suture into a pilot hole in bone utilizing a suture anchor. A lumen-defining circular soft wall, having a first and second end, is slidably engaged to a piece of suture, a first length of which extends from the first end of the wall and is threaded through the lumen from the second end, and a second length of which extends from the second end and is threaded through the lumen from the first end. The suture anchor is introduced into the pilot hole so that the first length and second length of suture material extend out of the pilot hole. The first length and second length are pulled on alternately, thereby permitting the suture anchor structure to slide on the piece of suture material, and to be compacted evenly by the pulling, until the suture anchor is set in the pilot hole.

  • Patent number: 10534364
Abstract: In one embodiment, an autonomous driving vehicle (ADV) speed following system determines how much and when to apply a throttle or a brake control of an ADV to maneuver the ADV around, or to avoid, obstacles of a planned route. The speed following system calculates a first torque force to accelerate the ADV, a second torque force to counteract frictional forces and wind resistances to maintain a reference speed, and a third torque force to minimize an initial difference and external disturbances thereafter between predefined target speed and actual speed of the ADV over a planned route. The speed following system determines a throttle-brake torque force based on the first, second, and third torque forces and utilizes the throttle-brake torque force to control a subsequent speed of the ADV.
