Abstract: Methods and apparatus for determining a unique audience exposed to media while reducing memory resources of a computing device are disclosed herein. Example instructions cause a machine to at least, based on impression requests from a plurality of client devices via a network, log a plurality of impressions corresponding to media accessed at the client devices; obtain a count of demographic impressions logged by a database proprietor; obtain a count of registered users of the database proprietor exposed to the media; and execute a process to determine a unique audience size by multiplying a count of the plurality of impressions by a square of the count of the registered users to generate a product; dividing the product by the count of the demographic impressions to generate a quotient; and determining the unique audience size based on a square root of the quotient.

Abstract: In a device including a processor and memory in communication with the processor, the memory includes executable instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the device to perform functions of determining that the device has available bandwidth to receive at least a portion of a first data stream sent from a first remote device to a second remote device on a wireless channel, wherein the data stream is addressed to a third remote device; receiving a part, or the entirety, of the first data stream; generating a second data stream from the received part or entirety of the first data stream, wherein the second data stream is shorter than the first data stream sent from the first remote device; and sending the second data stream to the third remote device. The second data stream is used at the third device to improve QoS related parameters such as a bit error rate (BER), a packet error rate (PER), and/or data rate for the first data stream sent from the first device.

Abstract: An electronic lighting device and a method for manufacturing the same are disclosed. The electronic lighting device may comprise a core, which may comprises an enclosure, a light-emitting element, a flame sheet and a swing mechanism. The flame sheet is movably supported or suspended on the enclosure, and may comprise an upper sheet which is of a flame-like shape. The upper sheet is configured to expose above the top of the enclosure. The light-emitting element may be installed on the enclosure. A light outgoing direction of the light-emitting element may be intersected with the surface of the upper sheet so that the light of the light-emitting element is projected on the surface of the upper sheet. The swing mechanism is disposed beneath the flame sheet and can apply a force on the flame sheet to actuate the flame sheet to sway or swing. By the present application, a visual experience of true fire can be achieved and an interestedness and appreciation can be improved.

Abstract: A memory device includes memory cells coupled to a word line. The memory device includes a controller coupled to the word line. The controller is configured to program the memory cells coupled to the word line. The controller is configured to verify a programmed status of a first subset of the memory cells coupled to the word line and a programmed status of a second subset of the memory cells coupled to the word line, based on the programmed status of the first subset of the memory cells.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for a circuit configured to perform computations using multiple inputs. The circuit includes multiple adder circuits and a selection circuit that includes multiple input selector. Each adder circuit performs an addition operation using sets of inputs derived from the multiple inputs. The input selectors are configured to select one or more inputs from a set of inputs derived from the multiple inputs based on a sign bit for an input in the set and pass the selected inputs to an adder circuit that generates a sum using the selected inputs. The circuit determines a routing of the sum to another adder circuit based in part on a sign bit for the input in the set of inputs.

Abstract: A storage tiering system comprises a set of storage tiers, each of the storage tiers comprising a respective set of storage drives configured to store data based on an access frequency associated with the data. The set of storage tiers comprises one or more storage tiers forming at least one storage array configured to store block-based data in association with the respective sets of storage drives of the one or more storage tiers. The set of storage tiers further comprises a storage tier utilizing a cloud infrastructure configured to store object-based data in association with the set of storage drives of the storage tier. An application programming interface is configured to convert block-based data and object-based data for moving data between the one or more storage tiers associated with the storage array and the storage tier associated with the cloud infrastructure.

The system includes a connector including: a fitting configured to provide a fluid-tight connection with the medical device; a neck coupled to the fitting, the neck configured to attach to the nasogastric tube assembly; and a body coupled to the neck, the body configured to provide a fluid-tight connection with the nasogastric tube assembly when at least partially inserted within the lumen; and a first tether including a first fastening region defining a first opening configured to receive the neck, a second fastening region defining a second opening configured to couple to the nasogastric tube assembly, and a link coupling the first fastening region to the second fastening region, the link configured to maintain a fixed distance separating the first fastening region from the second fastening region.

Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling access to wireless gaming devices and networks are provided. For example, access is controlled through one or more levels of security checks, such as a hard security check instead of or in addition to a soft security check. In a hard security check, the user employs an apparatus such as a card or other physical token that can be used to access the wireless gaming device. Such an apparatus may communicate information that identifies the user to the device or may simply be used to produce a signal without which the device is locked to users. The apparatus may further emit a time varying signal to enhance security.

Abstract: The present invention as disclosed herein surrounds a cooling apparatus configured to provide an enclosed envelope and cooling-pack for a reduced form-factor. Embodiments of the present invention provide a cooling apparatus for the transportation of beverage containers in a manner that keeps them colder for longer periods than transport within a non-insulated transportation device. The efficient and compact cooling of beverage containers as provided by the present invention in certain embodiments allows the user to transport the cooling apparatus within a backpack, handbag or other secondary transportation device.

Abstract: Method and apparatus for asynchronous discovery of processing and storage nodes coupled via an expander switch in a fabric. In some embodiments, an initiator device operates as a processing node to transfer data to and from a non-volatile memory (NVM) of a target device at a storage node. One of the initiator or target devices is activated prior to the other device. The second activated device broadcasts a discovery command responsive to the activation of the second activated device and prior to receipt of a request for the discovery command from the first activated device. The first activated device processes the discovery command to establish an I/O communication link between the first activated device and the second activated device. The discovery command may include a non-volatile memory express (NVMe) controller list, and the NVM may be arranged as one or more NVMe namespaces.

Abstract: Some embodiments provide systems, apparatuses, and methods to direct the consolidation of products in fulfilling a product order for a retail shopping facility. In some embodiments, a system is configured to identify a shipment order for products to be delivered to a shopping facility and that includes a request for a full pull pallet of a first product and additional products; define the full pull pallet as an enhanced case intended to be treated by an orderfiller worker as less than a full pull pallet; generate a pallet assembly list identifying the enhanced case and the items of a plurality of the additional products; and communicate the pallet assembly list to a user interface unit to be accessible by an orderfiller worker and directing the orderfiller worker to retrieve and cooperate the enhanced case and the additional products as an assembled pallet.

Abstract: Examples of the present disclosure describe systems and methods relating to conversational system user experience. In an example, a conversational system may use one or more sensors of a user device to affect the topic or direction of a conversation or to identify a new conversation topic. The conversational system may also receive input from a user, wherein a GUI may enable the user to specify or alter semantic information used during the conversation. The GUI may comprise one or more skeuomorphic elements designed to provide a familiar or intuitive way for the user to interact with the conversational system. The GUI may also be used to disambiguate messages or convey emotion or sentiment to the user. In another example, haptic or audio feedback may be provided alongside a message to convey emotion to the user during the conversation.

Abstract: A vehicle light strip is provided herein. The vehicle light strip includes a light-producing assembly including a plurality of light sources arranged as a strip attached to a panel. The light-producing assembly is angled in a downward direction to illuminate a ground surface. A photoluminescent structure is disposed on the light-producing assembly and is configured to luminesce in response to excitation by the plurality of light sources. One or more retroreflective beads is configured to reflect an incident light directed towards the light-producing assembly. An optic is operably coupled with the light-producing assembly and is disposed externally of the one or more retroreflective beads for distributing an excitation light in a predefined direction.

Abstract: Described herein are external fixation systems for correcting bone deformities in adjacent bones or fragments thereof. The systems herein include first and second elongate tubes that translate with respect to one another via rotation of an actuation member at an end of one of the rods. At least one housing member is coupled along a length of one of the tubes. The housing member includes at least clamping portion for clamping a portion of a fixation pin therein. When the housing member is in an unlocked state, the clamping portions can move in a variety of directions. When in a locked state, the housing member cannot move with respect to the tube that it is coupled to. The position and orientation of the fixation pin is also set. The locked and unlocked state of the housing member is determined by the positioning of a locking pin coupled to the housing member.

Abstract: One implementation of a method for providing backup storage services for encrypted data includes receiving signatures of convergently encrypted portions of data from client computers, determining whether the encrypted portions are already present on a backup storage, and obtaining only the needed portions. Users unassociated with a particular user account are denied access to information backed up in that account. The backup storage also stores password protected key files holding signatures of the unencrypted portions of data. One implementation of a system includes a memory, a single-instance storage circuit, a user account management circuit, and a signature index. The memory holds a user-account database and backup copies of convergently encrypted portions of data. The single-instance storage circuit uses the signature index to prevent duplicative backup copies. The user account management circuit responds to download requests after authenticating the user information associated with the requested data.
